Ipswich Town have completed the signing of Richard Foster from
Aberdeen for a fee reported to be around £700,000. Foster (25) had
been at the SPL1 club for nine years, making 204 appearances and
scoring 8 goals. He was an integral part of Aberdeen's 4th place
finish last season, playing in all but one game, due to a suspension.

Interest was high in Foster and it is rumoured that Coventry City
and Sheffield United - both of the English Championship - had bids
accepted, but the once Scotland youth international said that the
main reason for his decision to opt for Ipswich as opposed to the
other 2 sides were the top training facilities the club had to offer.

Aberdeen boss Dean Warren had this to say ...

"Obviously it's a big loss for the club, Ricky was without a doubt
one of our best players last season but when an offer like that comes
on the table, there is no option other than to accept it. I wish him all
the best down south and if he plays as well there as he did for us,
he'll make a big name for himself and who knows, may even find
himself playing in the Premiership."

"We bought David Gray in the summer who is a very versatile player,
and I'm sure he is more than capable of playing regularly at right
back. We now have to sway our attention away from the transfer news
and focus on tomorow's game against St Johnstone, which will be a
tough one, without a shadow of a doubt"

Aberdeen currently sit top of the SPL1 after the opening set of fixtures,
courtesy of a 3-0 victory against newly promoted Ross County.

Draw Delights Warren

AberdeenFCBadge-1.png

Aberdeen boss Dean Warren has expressed his delight over the
draw for the 4th qualifying round of the Europa League, which
sees his side paired with Mogren of Montenegro. Mogren are a
relatively unknown side to the rest of Europe and of the unseeded
teams, they had the lowest coefficient.

"Obviously, being seeded for the draw it didn't worry us too much
who our opponents were but it's a huge bonus to be playing the
so-called 'worst' side in the round in order to qualify for the group
stage. No disrespect to them but we are by far favourites. I'll warn
the lads against complacency but they should have more than
enough quality to see off a team from Montenegro who have never
played in a European competition before. At this stage last year
we were unseeded and drawn against Fulham. One year on, we
just have to win over 180 minutes against Mogren. The club is
progressing and hopefully we can string together a solid run in
Europe and put this club back on the footballing map."

The fans are likely to share Warren's confidence and are
already relishing the prospect of coming up against some
of Europe's biggest sides in the group stages.

Are you continuing this mate cause it is a great read :)

I dont think so mate, exams and schoolwork have taken over since the last update, and I haven't touched the game since the beginning of the holiday's.

I will, however, definitely make a new story for FM' 11. Still undecided on what exactly but I'll try and put in even more effort than I did to this.

Thanks to all who showed an interest, I guess this can now be closed.
