After playing for a season with Newcastle Utd and getting them into Euro cup the club was taken over during the next season. Got them into Euro cup again and also won FA cup. Wage budget for 2nd season was £1,800,000 but i wasn't spending anywhere near that figure, think it was something like £1,103,000.
Anyway, the next (3rd) season starts and suddenly my wage budget was been massively reduced to £650,000 and so I was overspending by quite a lot. Sold some players to try and reduce the wage bill down but didnt have much of an impact.
Just after the sponsorship fees come in (think that was over £1billion) the club called in the recievers because I couldn't afford to pay players wages, even though I had a billion £ in the bank. So the administrators come in and start selling all my players to try and cope with the wage bill. First month goes by and the club makes £17 million profit from ticket sales and and mainly player sales. Thats enough for over a year of players wages, but the club doesn't recover and more players are sold. It is now getting ridiculous, I am basically players u18 and reserve team as all my first team have gone apart from a few. Surprisingly Andy Caroll stayed.
Boardroom confidence in me is still high, but I think that is because of the results I am was achieving. (won Community Shield and first 5 league games) I expected to be sacked soon, players that I have left are unhappy because of the league position.
Just wondered if anyone else has experienced this.
