Don't forget that the team comparison takes into account all your players, not just your starting XI. So if you had Iniesta, Xavi and Ozil, but had Stoke players on your bench and just lingering around your first team without ever playing, the comparison would still suggest you can't play passing football... :)

But I use the counter strategy alot. It is less defensive than people think, and it is basically what Mourinho got his Chelsea and Madrid teams to do :)

what do you make of this as a tactic?

EDIT: i changed the striker to a defensive forward to see if i could counter by breaking up their defensive play. would this work? i changed the slider to run with ball - often

Defensive forwards don't really work on their own, they are more for if you already have another striker, I'd change him to a Target Man if you want him to break up their defence :)

Because your CM has a defend duty, I think it'll leave your attack isolated, so I'd change him to either a support or automatic duty. Better still, if he has the right attributes, a Box-to-box midfielder would work well :)

This is fairly similar to a counter-attacking tactic I made, exept I made the two wingers deeper, so they would help out with the defense more but then break quickly. Also, setting them to man-mark the opposing wingers and have tight marking means they'll follow them into your own third, helping to prevent them from getting into the game :)

whoa!! thats one funky lookin formation youve got there mate, similar to mine lol
I play 4-1-3-1-1, but its symmetrical...

I play it useing counter attacking..can turn from a defensive formation to attacking with moderate risk! I do concede alot of possesion though...but dont care for possesion when i can get results like this!

It's about getting the right balance between defence and attack. You could pull the other winger back and set them both to wide-midfielders, which would help alot, but you may not then get much support for your striker. You could even start a new save and skip the transfers, then just develop the tactic abit.

But wingers on attack duty don't give much defensive support, make him a wide-midfielder. And can I have screenshots of both your fullbacks and wingers PI?

EDIT: And do you play with a high line?

what i'm going to do is copy and paste the tactic but make slight alterations based on the kind of team I'm facing, probably more efficient that way tbh!

If you're using 3 at the back then a Solid Dm(s) are essential, And maybe try getting Wingers with better Work Rate so they'll track back..

Water under the bridge, I understand its horrible being frustrated.

RE wingers cutting side: That's actually a bit of a issue in the ME, but it only seems to affect the top division as far as I can tell. Dont think they will leave that till 13.2, but I dont know if they will have time before christmas to address it.

Im now on my off season in winter so im playing the friendlies with a new tactic each game to see if theres one thats going to give me a good end result :)

You have to give time for your players to get used to the tactic, changing it every week isn't going to help. And friendlies are short-odds matches, so your players won't be motivated/pretty much anything could happen. Just create 3 different tactics, and wait till your team is familiar with them. Then just decide which tactic to use based on the opposition!
