Don't forget that the team comparison takes into account all your players, not just your starting XI. So if you had Iniesta, Xavi and Ozil, but had Stoke players on your bench and just lingering around your first team without ever playing, the comparison would still suggest you can't play passing football...
But I use the counter strategy alot. It is less defensive than people think, and it is basically what Mourinho got his Chelsea and Madrid teams to do

EDIT: i changed the striker to a defensive forward to see if i could counter by breaking up their defensive play. would this work? i changed the slider to run with ball - often
