The Fall - Your Future Our Clutter - bit of a let down based on reviews, but still a decent album, 2.5/5
Ive Also gotten The Nationals new album but havent listened yet
I really enjoyed Your Future Our Clutter, a big step up for them as their last few were quite poor.
High Violet is a fantastic album, I wasn't even a fan of Boxer. Or Alligator. Or anything by the band before, to be honest. So I wasn't expecting much. But it's an incredible record.
Looks like it's their Merriweather Post Pavilion-esque breakthrough record.
Another superb album, I'm actually finding it physically impossible to stop listening to Go.
Congratulations - MGMT. Unbelievably underwhelming, it would be a decent stand alone album but I expected better from them after their début. Maybe my expectations were to high going into it.
Together - The New Pornographers. A very good album, very listenable too, I personally prefer it to High Violet.
Hot Chip/ LCD Soundsystem. After listening to both of these albums based on decent reviews, I was actually shocked at how
**** I found them. A couple of average songs each on both and that's about it. Poor.
If anyone's interested, Omar Rodriguez Lopez (Mars Volta) and John Frusciante released a free collaboration album which I quite like. You can find it
here. It's an album with primarily focussed on guitar, with lots of distortion and electronic sounds mixed in. They are by far and away the most talented and creative guitarists of their generation.
