Arrigo Sacchi's 4-4-2 for FM14

Tried this tactic with my Leeds team, i was only 7 games in and things were not going too good after getting thumped 6-1 by Boro in capital one cup and only managing one win in the league so something had to give before the dreaded sack. After trying this tactic things have picked up, i have won 3, drawn 1 and lost 1. My strikers are scoring a lot more goals, Gary Martin grabbed a hat trick in his last game and Noel Hunt is playing well as the centre forward. I am still conceding a lot though.
 
Mate, I just wanted to tell you that I absolutely love this formation. I don't normally download them but nothing I tried was working so I went for this one. Took over my local team Gillingham, with no money and an average squad tipped for L1 relegation I managed to win the league 6 points clear of Wolves. I also made it to the 5th round of the FA Cup. I'm now in my first season in the Championship (only signed 3 players) and I'm in 5th after 4 games, just smashed Leeds 5-2. I'm doing it all with basically League 2 players as that's where the squad was from last season and although I'm quite poor defensively, I'm looking forward to seeing the tactic at works with decent players in my back 4. Love it. Thank you.
 
Very good tactic. Playing with Valenciennes FC, currently 3rd in the league in January 2014, with no transfer budget and average players. One question though, what individual trainings would you recommend.

hi seanhrfc, any chance you will be recreating your tweaked 4411 tactic too? That was hands down my favourite tactic for FM13 and helped me towards years of dominance with Everton!

Just put one of the DM on defend duty and use an AMC as Trequartista instead of the CF.

Anyone has had any results with the DM moved up to CM position?

This is doing very good for my Man Utd team, maybe just because im playing with United though.

Obviously had to reshape the squad, get rid of some offensive midfielders and get in some defensive midfielders, but i'm top of the league in January and through in CL with 6 wins. I did crash out of the carling cup to Reading, but that was due to me playing some u18 players to rest the main squad.

One thing i've noticed though, is that my fullbacks seem to post pretty low ratings compared to the rest of the squad which seems odd because i'm used to fullbacks always playing well :)
 
this really is a brilliant tactic, im spurs first season, pretty sure ill finish in top 4, won carling cup, lost fa cup semi to Chelsea on penalties and have just got into the uefa cup final, changed the forward roles, got Jackson Martinez as a target man and he has almost scored 40goals in all comps, on the other hand soldaldo has done terrible but still scored 23 goals!!
 
Fantastic tactic currently 32 games unbeaten in all competitions and top of the league with Everton.
 
Just another glowing report here from the lower leagues... Won Skrill South with Eastleigh in first season by 20 points. In Season 2 now and have won the Skrill Prem with 6 games to go and have set a new goals record for TSP with 104 goals - and still 6 games to go!! Got to FA Cup 3rd round vs. Man Utd at home, winning 1-0 at 70 minutes before RVP scored one and set up two more. I have used def. positioning in all games as my defense is average at best , however signed Ziman Duki in first season - top GK, think he has helped alot. Other than that my signings are pretty run of the mill. Every other news item mentions overachieving etc, got the 90% in all comps acheivement, the list goes on... Uber tactic Sean!

Yeah i was thinking of doing that with the treq but couldnt remember if it was just a normal treq or if there were any tweks to add.

I been looking at moving the wingers into AMRL positons too so it becomes a deep 4231. Do you reckon it'd work?
No need to change the formation of course as the original tactic is awesome but i just like the look of the 4231 deep!
 
hi there,just would like to clarify guys : all these great results with teams ,using version 1 or version 2 of these tactics? had a half decent start with LFC using v1 ,but then had a terrible run of games from begining of december to end of january and eventually got sacked. Had a lot of injuries though. Any info would be much apretiated on what is different from version 1 to version 2. Thanks
 
Man, since the last patch I don't really have much success with this formation. It worked wonders previously but now I keep losing 1-3 or so against higher teams I'd normally draw against. Got sacked in a new save before the winter window.

Normally I'm hovering top 3 on the table by then.

not sure what i am doing wrong ,or is it the fact that i am not changing anything at all , but i am strugling with v2 as well. Reading all previous posts i got the impression that it is "plug&play" kind of tactics? not expecting to win EPL in my first season ,but would like to be able to challenge at least for Europa League places. Any one who had this tactics working with LFC please advise on tweaks that worked for you without any marque signings ,just some squad players. Thanks in advance

Now bare in mind that I replaced 9 players from the main formation in the second season, but I haven't bought any superstar aside of Victor Valdez - he's been a free agent until november, I signed him for 2,5 millions euros p/y.

I took off play high tempo and switched one DM to regista mid-season, I don't think it made that huge of a difference. Oddly enough, my left winger had 0 goals and 16 assists this season, while having 11 goals and 7 assists the season before.

So yeah, I'd say this definitely works. I'm going on with this and then try with Sassuolo as soon as I find a decent DB update.

Update from season 3: comfortably won the league and national cup. Champions League went bad though, I had a hard group and was unlucky in a couple of matches; I was beating Man U 2-0 by the first half but then lost 3-2.

Going to try with a 4-2-3-1 tweak this season.

v1 worked a treat for me with Eastleigh. Unfortunately I completely messed up the wages and after winning TSP by 27 points I got trade embargoed for League 2 so had to quit it - ooops!

Have started again with Stalybridge in TSN and here are results so far (using version 1 - added 2 half decent strikers and DMC's and a decent goalie). Currently have focus on tactics only, maybe in another 5 or so games I'll concentrate on defence, especially after letting 3 in late when winning 7-1. My DC's aren't very good though - low composure and concentration, still this time around I'm ensuring I stay way under budget :)
