awesome tactic that feels like a cheat it is so good. I seem to take the lead in most games. I either kick on and win by 2-4 goals or concede very late goals. what do people do to hold onto a lead? it is becoming very frustrating.

Great tactic... Or so I thought. It started awesome. But now, it's gone absolutely awful. I've won 3 games out of the last 12, and I'll be lucky if I manage to get promoted at all.

So I'm posting my results again, because I'm simply amazed.
Third season with Hellas Verona:
- Won Italian SuperCup
. Won Italian Serie A
- Won Italian Tim Cup
- Lost Champion League's Final

I'm using my personal tweak of this amazing tactic, a deep 4-2-3-1 which uses the same settings as Sean's but "play higher tempo", which I'm probably going to add next season (I am also using a DCB since finding decent BPD is too hard for me):

I don't think it deserves a dedicated thread, and all credits go to Sean anyway, so I'll just post it here if anyone wants.

I have been using this with my Southampton squad, I am only in December but currently first! I have only lost 2 matches all season, will try and finish the season tonight and post my success. Im also only using the first tweak as shown in the screenshot, if I start doing badly ill try out the new tweaked tactic.

Has anyone else found an increase of red/yellow cards in this tactic? I'm now in 2017, done really well with Wolves (thanks for sharing the tactic btw mate), but in 2016-2017 I had a really ridiculous amount of cards, might have just been my players I suppose though..

My defensive midfielders get yellows nearly every game but only one of them gets red carded all the time. Am only into my second season with Ajax

I tried spiattalo's variation of this tactic (#277) and at half of the season, it's going well for me. The only players I signed is a defensive midfield and a backup central defender because one of them got injured for 3 months.

I concentrated a lot on the tactical preparation since july so now (in november) my tactics are mastered by the players around 95%. I think I will start working on the defense because the marking of my players isn't very good : my main central defender and my main goalkeeper do their job quite well but when I made a turnover, I lost 0-5 (in Cup) and 0-3 (in Europa League) with defenders playing very very bad...

As some other people said, I also take a lot of yellow cards but I guess it's normal as we play fast.

My 2 losses in the championship are against Zenit and Dinamo by a narrow margin (0-1). I still have difficulties to resist to these teams but I guess it's normal as they are one of the best of the championship.

The same happening in my game too. One of my DM's always get a red card every 3 or 4 matches but a yellow is guaranteed / match.
The tactic is awesome by the way, came 3rd with Hoffenheim in the first season and won the German Cup.

Hey! Do you think it should work if you put up the 2 def mids to centre mids? I tried this on FM13 but it kinda destroyed the tactic

Tactic was a tad inconsistent (could just be me/the team) but since I changed the match prep training to def positioning I have gone on a good run beating man utd, Arsenal and Newcastle.
i like to try tactics out but always seem to come back to this one.

Hey guys, Version 2 works wonders for me at international level with Italy Under 21s but I can't get my team to perform at club level? Any tips!

thanks

Success using spiattalo's tweaked version

I decided to use spiattalo's tweaked version last season and it paid off! I finished 3rd with Man Utd finishing 2nd only on goal difference, I also lost in the FA Cup Final to Chelsea but smashed them in the league the week before, typical! Here are my season results and final league table. Also my current squad for the new season, only players added are Barkley and Nkoulou.

Stalybridge Celtic back to back to back to back to back promotions and Euro Qual in first Prem season... one hellova tactic.

I used V1 until half way through premiership was sitting mid table and thought i'd give the 4-2-31 tweak a go and improved to 5th, started to use counter with 4-2-3-1 tweak as an option near the end of the Prem season and worked very very well including a 1-4 away win versus Arsenal. Am going to use counter in my second season of EPL. Other than the change to Counter I have used def. positioning always, use very high team cohesion early (signing upwards of 6 - 7 players this is a must) and max match training until tactic fluid. Thanks Sean and Spil for a beast of a tactic!

This is the most satisfying tactic, I have tried so far. It gives me the best experience in terms of what I recall as realistic football. Great job! I still miss the classic poacher a little bit though and I hope it will be back with the coming update.

Which version did u find the best? The one with trequartista or the other with AP?

Manuel Fernandes had 22 assists in all competitions in a AP role. But now I have Sergi Roberto in that position...
