October review


Ajax, Man United, Chelsea, Tottenham, Panathinaikos, Man City; all in the same month? "Tough month" is an understatement!

Ajax away to kick off October, a close encounter on paper and thats how it turned out aswell. Neither side could make the breakthrough, but Ajax fans will be relieved they held on for a draw as Villa dominated possession throughout.

Ajax were succesfully tamed and now the Villans had an even bigger challenge in the form of the Red Devils. Home advantage and a late winner from Agbonlahor proved gold for the Villa, a historic victory for them to cherish.

A win against United and a point from Ajax in a week? Surely the upcoming encounter with Chelsea was going to end good for Villa?

Villa faced a tough trip to Greece to take on Panathinaikos in the Eurpopa League just 4 days after losing at home to Chelsea. A brace from Agbonlahor and a late goal from Heskey, what proved to be the winner, gave Villa hope of future glory in Europe.

Man City away, just 3 days to recover from there travels to Greece proved heavy work for the Villans and another away loss was the result, with C Davies being given his marching orders.

The final game of October wouldn't be an easy one and it didn't go the Villans way either, suffering their 3rd straight loss in the Premier League.

Mainly a miserable month for Villa, the only thing that seems to be running smoothly is in Europe.
