Aston Villa have confirmed the signing of three new players, as the transfer window swings open for another Winter transfer period. With rumours that Timo Horn, Emanuel Mammana and Christian Pulisic could move away from Villa Park, it could be an exciting window for all involved.

The club have moved to add further depth to their youth ranks, and have spent around £4m to secure the signings of three highly-rated young players. Serbian Under-21 goalkeeper Stefan Bojović from Partizan Belgrade. The 18 year old has made 7 appearances for Partizan, and 5 for Serbia Under-21s.

The club have also secured the signature of 16 year old French defender Mohamed Reda Ghimouz from Olympique Lyon. The versatile youngster, who is capable of playing at either right or centre back, will join the massively successful youth setup at Villa Park.

Finally, the club have brought American international Evan Vargas to the club on a free transfer. The former DC United midfielder has six months left on his contract when Villa swooped and agreed a Bosman deal with the 22 year old. Clark had been an admirer of the American for a number of years, and had made several failed attempts to sign him in previous season.

Villa fans are overjoyed at the recent acquisitions, but will be worried about the numerous rumours that are floating around the club about possible departures. Villa have suffered at the hands of persistent rumours, and bids they claim are "derisory" unsettling key players in previous windows, and it looks like this window will be no different.

Brazilian fullback Jorge is being heavily linked to Serie A side Roma, whilst Dutch midfielder Abdelhak Nouri is being linked to either Bayern Munich or Roma. Timo Horn, often linked with a move away from the club, is once again being linked to Arsenal and Schalke 04, whilst Emanuel Mammana has expressed his desire to join Manchester United. American winger Christian Pulisic is also being heavily linked with a return to Dortmund in a £40m move. The deal, which could eventually reach £50m, would smash the club's record for an outgoing deal, which currently stands at the £29.5m paid by Everton for Zakaria Bakkali. Whether Clark will continue his policy of promoting from within, or if his hand will be forced to bring in new recruits remains to be seen. Whatever happens, it looks like 2021 could be the biggest transfer window in recent history.
