Well, if so, then how have France plumetted after a poor WC and poor start to qualification while England have almost stayed put?
again mathematics, if you go to uefa and download the pdf and read it you will understand.you may not like the criteria they use, but there is no debating the maths behind it, put in the results and thats what you get.Well, if so, then how have France plumetted after a poor WC and poor start to qualification while England have almost stayed put?
there is a simple equation that they use to calcutlate the rankings, its on the uefa website. its not done by whim, or subjectively. its done on pure mathematics
You see, this is where i'm struggling with Norway's ranking. We've got our good ol' manager back (as a caretaker) who beat England, Brazil, drew to Holland, beat Spain, Germany (friendly in Germany) and now Portugal. But most of this is ancient news, and even though we've not lost at home since he took the reins (Norway's never lost at home with him managing afaik), but how did a win over a weak Portugal catapult us all the way up there? We've not played well for years, and our most notable wins of late has been against a 10 man Scotland at home (4-0) and a friendly win over Germany (don't even think they count).
its the way the points system works. honestly i was so baffled when england stayed 7th i had to go find out, worth heading to uefa to give it a good read, theres 2 pdfs i thinkYou see, this is where i'm struggling with Norway's ranking. Uraguays players are no way near the quality of Englands players, if anything they just had a lucky wcup.
Compare each player with Uruguays, Mexico's and USA's.
I would want none in the England starting 11 par Forlan.
uruguay are above england because they play easier teams in there qualifiers same for EGYPT 9TH
You're saying it as if Uruguay wasn't expected to qualify?
Carlos Vela will become a fantastic player, Gio dos Santos still has his moments, Landon Donovan is far better than, say, Emile Heskey, Darren Bent and Bobby Zamora, Tim Howard could put Joe Hart out of the team, Rafael Marquez is still outstanding for Barca and Mexico, and could put Terry out the team, Luis Suarez is in far better shape than Rooney is now and Guillermo Ochoa could also put Joe Hart out of the team.
seriously, when you get to a major competition, then you can start judging us.
No it isn't? I'm just explaining to you how Englands XI is better then USA, Uruguay and Mexico's.
1.I agree that Landon Donovan is better than Heskey,Zamora and Bent but these players are hardly first teamers fo England.Heskey well he is good at what he has to do
2.Tim Howard can put Joe Hart out off the team...I dont think so
3.Marquez is better than Terry, this is not even debate-worthy
4.Suarez is better than Rooney?...on what basis can u say that,I would like to see Suarez score 30 goals in the EPL and score against Arsenal when he is 16
On Topic:Well its good to see us so high but I dount FIFA Rankins can be taken seriously as Jake said
what has any of that got to do with the rankings, not to mention its all subjective opinion? stay on topicI think Howard is a top-class keeper, who has much more experience than Hart, when was the last time you saw Howard make a massive mistake? He is also consistent, and has gotten better with age.
Terry is vastly over-rated, he is nowhere near as good as people make him out to be. Marquez is a fantastic defender and is just as good as Terry, IMO.
Suarez is an incredible player, Rooney had a horrible WC while Suarez thrived, he did very well last year. He would wipe the floor with most EPL defences. And Rooney's goal vs Arsenal was a complete fluke.
And I agree with Kris, we won twice against France and suddenly we the 13th best side in the world. It doesn't make sense IMHO. And I hate the arrogance of English people, not all of them of course, but those who are so stuck-up that they think they are superior to all other British nations. It's horrible, and Nixon could not be more right.
comparing players is nothing to do with rankingI was on topic.
You blates forgot Rep. Of Ireland. ^^)I don't feel any of the teams below us are better then us? So I don't see the problem with us being 6th.
