So close!! England came within one game of winning back to back major international tournements! Going into the game England were big favourites but were undone by Modric and Co. Cappello stepped down after this match as he felt he'd 'done all he could.' Another shock nation to do well was Sweden who were knocked out by England in the semis! Portugal lost all 3 of there group games and were going home early, also going home early were Italy also knocked out in the groups!​
