I'm sorry but I don't think there's any question Valdes caught him, for me it's just a question of whether Ronaldo has the ball under control.

From another angle it looked like he got the ball. Also Messi didn't expect that from Carvalho, nothing malicious and it didn't deserve a booking

The elbow may have actually hurt him. It must have been a nasty blow, that happens so many times and people get accused of diving but the players sometimes get hurt.

as for Cjacko's point about Ronaldo raping the full backs - that was always going to be key, it's whether he realises he's part of a team tonight, and not just looks at it as a Ronaldo - Messi battle and he needs to look at as a what it really is Barca - Madrid.
