Busy Silly-Season in City
The mysterious owner and chairman of Manchester City, Guy Fawkes, and his board once again showed there close relation with Everton’s Dutch chairman Marc Overmars.
Since Fawkes' consortium took over the club, players like Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Micah Richards, André Ayew and Sergio Ramos has been traded between City and Everton.
This transfer-window was no exception – as City strengthen their defense with the purchase of young back Dani Carvajal. The other way went Pastore to a new challenge with the former winners of Euro League, and Jack Rodwell returned to his former employer on a loan deal throughout next season.
The heavy-wage players Fernando Torres and Jefferson Farfán is leaving City for Reading on a swap-deal with the German national player Toni Kroos. The Italian captain Daniele De Rossi was the last player signing a City-contract in a busy transfer-window.
Guy Fawkes expressed his gratitude to the club-owners involved in the transfers, and is said to be delighted to give new material available for Mancini.
He also expressed his sadness of Fernando Torres ending at City – and said that Torres big efforts for the club will be remembered.
Manchester City is back in CHL this season and is determined to beat the clubs ‘early-out history’ in this tournament, while ending as one of the top-4 clubs in the Premiership.
