A last minute penalty was needed to secure a point for league leaders Blackburn today as they struggled to find the net in a match that they dominated. Bernard told reporters after the match.

"I am disappointed with the lack of shots on target but that is something we will now work on in training. "

Different game, same story for Blackburn as they struggle to draw in a game where they just could hit the target. Blackburn do remain top of the league for now but with the chasing pack playing tomorrow Blackburn may end the weekend outside of the automatic promotion spots.

Blackburn 2 Middlesbrough 1

After two successive draws in the league Blackburn showed why they are up at the top end of the table by seeing off a decent Middlesbrough side today. A header from Hanley opened the scoring before Guidetti regained the lead for Blackburn after Boro had equalised. Bernard told reporters.

"We dug deep and we deserved our win today."

This match showed exactly why Blackburn are at the top of the table and Millwall are at the bottom and that is all down to things going your way when the going is tough. Blackburn were winning 2-0 before Millwall brought it back and looked to have claimed a point until Rochina fired past the keeper in injury time to give Blackburn all three points.

League Cup Round 4

Blackburn caused another League Cup shock today as for the second round running they knocked out Premier League opposition. Blackburn are now into the quarter finals which is much further into the tournament than anyone expected the Championship club to get. Bernard told reporters.


"We played some really good football today especially at the back where out defenders ensured that we would reach the quarter finals."

Bernard discusses October

This month has saw us win 2 league games and draw 2 league games which I am happy to an extent with but the games we drew should have been games we were looking to win if we hope too remain at the top end of the table.

Naturally the result against Queens Park Rangers in the League Cup was outstanding and I am so proud of my players.

The only thing I have left to add is that I am pleased with the squad but in the next month we will be working to stop conceding as many sill goals.

All Championship quarter final

Blackburn Rovers will play Bolton Wanderers in the quarter final of the League Cup. Both sides will see the match as winnable and with a prize of a cup semi final at stake the match is sure to be a classic.

In what was a very even top of the table clash it took a late Bradley Orr header to secure a point for league leaders Blackburn today. Bernard spoke to reporters after the match, he told them.

"We didn't deserve a draw today, but of course we will take it and we will improve for our next game."

Blackburn again had to settle for a draw as they failed to break down a stubborn Barnsley side today. After this slip up Blackburn slip down to second in the table behind Leicester who now top the Championship.

Blackburn fans will be hoping this is how the League Cup meeting between the sides plays out after a convincing win for Bernard's team sees them rise back to the top of the league. A brace from on loan striker Guidetti was more than enough to see Blackburn run out comfortable winners today. Bernard told Sky Sports.

"That was a performance of the highest quality today. I have nothing but admiration for my players."
