Blyth go two points clear at the top

Blyth played Hinckley today at the Greene King Stadium.

The first half was extremely tight between both teams, with equal chances been created at both ends. The second half half was alot better for the teams, Hinckley grabed a smash and grab goal on the 47th minute by Mark Dudley put them into the lead. Blyth responded quickly with a goal from Jamie Mole, scoring a well placed shot from inside the box in the 50th minute. Blyth added another goal soon after with a fantastic strike from outside the box from Steven Lozano-Calderon on the 59th minute. Blyth then sealed the deal with a goal in the final minutes with a well placed shot from Chris Emms.

Blyth progress in the FA Cup

Mickleover played Blyth today in the second qualifying round of the FA Cup.

Blyth started the match with a very high tempo passing game. The first goal of the game came in the 20th minute with a good header from point blank range from Carl Jones. Blyth made it 2-0 with 30 minutes gone with a weak effort from Jamie Mole. The high tempo didn't go away in the second half with Blyth grabbing another goal with a well placed volley from Jamie Mole. Mickleover did manager to get a goal, a towering header from James Noakes on 74 minutes.

With this win Blyth progress to the third qualifying round. Where they have been drawn against Maidstone. The game is to be played at Croft Park on the 15th October 2011
