Have a look at Marcelo Grohe, keeper for Gremio. I have him at Newcaslte, and he is very good. worth a look.
i'v just added him to the squad.. looks class but Renan is number 1 at the minute so he'll be in as back up

Howryaz folks, the South American U20 Championship is upon us and the squad has been decided,

The fixtures are as follows:
31st December V Venezuela
4th January V Peru
6th January V Paraguay
8th January V Ecuador

This will be a few of the lads last U20's tournament so hopefully we'll be coming home as champions as well as the fact as we are Holders...

We shall see what the future holds.

Also no pressure, this is the Brazil Football Federation's expectations

you add a manager and go to the nation and click on the under age team you want eg U23,U21, U20, U19 and click confirm!!

i know this might sound noobish but how do you know your players are going to be good ? as in my club games i 90% of the time go by the judgment of my scouts and assistant, but when i have done under 20/21 games i've never been able to send my assistant or sign scouts to look for players who could be good enough for the team, so how do you know who to look for ?

Well I have a club manager in the save too so I get to scout a few players through that but otherwise I look at their stats and attributes to see how they get on but they must have good natural "strengths" and be playing for their club at hopefully senior level.. It is a lot of guess work though and I try get a good core squad together.
I do alot of player searches though
I dunno if this answered your question,, if not let me know...

South American U20 Championship

So first match against Venezuela,
The lads started strong with Marquinhos scoring in the 7th minute with a brilliant set piece then Guillherme poped up again with a goal in the 20th minute with his 3rd goal in as many games sidestepping the ball into the net.In stoppage time Renato Augusto scored in the 48th minute with a pure cracker.

Douglas (Twente) unfortuanatly got a slight injury so he was brought off as a precaution, Hugo replaced him
Leo also got a slight knock so he was brough off as well, bringing on Feillipe Mattioni
Then Uendel was injured so Wanderely was brought on and we went 3 at the back and 3 up front..
To make matters worse Renato Augusto was injured in stoppage time....I'M STARTING TO GET WORRIED!!!!

All in all it was a fine 3 nil win with Marquinhos being awarded Man of the Match!

On a seperate note Uendel has been injured for a month so his championship is effectively over and no replacement can be called up

The attendance was a mighty 345!!!!

South American U20 Championship

versus Peru..

Uendel is out for the campaign so Hugo has been put into the left fullback slot and Renato Augusto hasnt passed a late fitness test so he's dropped to the bench and Tarta has been brought in..

His inclusion has paid off and Pato scored in the 5th minute after Willians Santana crossed in on the right wing literally on to his boot.

Our second came when Hugo regained the ball from a throw in, to cross the ball into the path of Tarta who scores his first goal for underage Brazil.

Peru pulled one back in the 21st minute and while Willians Santana capped his performace with a great goal, Peru pulled another one back to leave it at 2-3 going in at half time.

Rafael Carioca was filling the strain so he was brought off and replaced by Feillpe Mattioni slotting into right back and Ramon pushing into centre mid, just as play restarted Pato struck again to make it 2-4

Willians Santana completed a hattrick by scoring in the 58th and 64th minute.. Guillherme pilled the embarassment on further by netting a late goal, Peru scored another consolation goal after a denfensive **** up making the final score 3-7!!!

Willains Santana too rightly achieved man of the match. and we also had 25 shots however only 11 were on target so 7 out of 11 is keeping me happy!!!!

The attnedance was a measly 184

just wondering what formation you playing to get that many goals ? and btw you did answer my previous question

I playing a 4-2-2-2

Four at the back, two defensive midfielders, two high up wingers and two strikers, one tall to knock the ball down..

South American U20 Championship

versus Paraguay

I started the match with a few changes to give some of the lesser played lads a run-out, Wanderely, Dentinho, Sidnei and Mauricio all started.

In the 33rd min Willians Santana put away his 4th goal in two matches and then in the 44th min, we were awarded a peno and Renato Augusto converted the peno.

at halftime, Tarta and Willians Santana were brought off because they were tiring quickly and Alex Texieria and Guillherme were brought on to continue the attacking phase.

Renato Augusto took a knock half way through the second half and was replaced by Rafael Carioca.
Unfortuanalty Guillherme failed to convert a prno in the dying minues of the match..

Willians Santana got Man of the Match yet again...

The attendance was 326..

South American U20 Championship

versus Ecuador

This being my last match in the group that I had alread qualified from I mixed the team up a bit more however with 3 injuries to the squad already I was slightly confined.

Gabriel Pimba got his first start of the tournament and few of the lads got another long run out.

Rafael Carioca scored in the 17th min with Marquinhos completing a mazy run with a superb goal. To further add insult to themselves Ecuador conceded two own goals in the 36th and 73rd minute to wrap up a rout.

On a sour note though, ,Rafael Carioca, Pato and Alex Texieria suffered injuries which hopefully they can shake off but were taken off for precaution.

Marquinhos was Man of the Match
And the attendance was at its highest with 358!!!

South American U20 Championship Final Stage,

The top 3 teams from both groups have qualified to a final stage and they are Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina,Chile, Ecuador, Paraguay.

The first match is against Uruguay who are mainly Uruguaian based.

We started off well even though kind of cut at the knees with injuries. Tarta got knackered so Gabriel Pimba made his second appearence. it was one nil at half time(Mauricio getting a cracking long range shot on 4o mins) and that had to change so we would not be under pressure rigt up to our last match.

Pato was dying a death out there so he was substituted for Wanderely

We were pushed right to the wire but in the end came out triumphant with that one nil win which puts us top of the final stage. Goal difference will play a big part of this group so the goals better start rolling again.

Man of the Match was Douglas

The attendance was 304

South American U20 Championship Final Stage

versus Ecuador
Having already beaten this team 4-0, a win was expected!

Guillherme is slowly coming bac to fitness and may feature at some stage in the tournament.

It wasn't until the 30th minute when Marquinhos went on a trade mark dribble that we finally went ahead and rightfully so, we had been bringing the match to our opponents all half.

Our second came from a long clearance by Hugo with Dentinho latching on to it to slot it past the keeper.

we pushed to all out attack to boost our goal difference but Ecuador pulled one back in the 55th min however 4mins later one of their players was sent off. a few mins later another chap was sent off

Sidnei powered in a header on 75 to push our advantage

they had their 3rd lad sent off in the 80th min haha

Wanderely and Guillherme both provided a goal in the last fe minutes to make the final score 1-5 :)

the Man of the Match was Marquinhos

The attendance was 147!!!

this gives us 6 points from 6!!

South American U20's Championship.

versus Chile.

I was in trouble before this game started, Douglas suspended and four lads injured so i couldn't even have my full 7 subs!!

The first half was poor, Pato was having a stinker and Hugo's fitness was failing him so Guillherme was brought on and Pato had a bomb shoved up his a**e

Pato continued to play shockingly so Wanderely was brought on to replace him. Renato Augusto succumbed to injury again and Gabriel Pimba replaced him

Chile got a bullet of a goal on the 82nd min due to poor defending, but 3 mins later the two Guillherme's combined to equalise!!
Then in the 2nd min of 4 extra mins, Willians Santana was brought down by a clumsy challenge, Marquinhos stood up to be counted and SCORED!!!!

1-2 in the end and our undefeated run continues!!!!

Their keeper got man of the match but on the Braszilian team it was Willians Santana

The attnedance was 319

South American U20 Championship

versus Paraguay

With Leo suspended Douglas came in fresh from suspension himself.

Mauricio and Dentinho were feeling the strain so Ramon and Marquinhos were brought on.

Going into half time the score was 2-1 in our favour, Pato scored inside 3 mins, Paraguay equalised in the 25th min but Wanderely slotted home a leading goal in the 47th min just before half time!

Pato got injured so a bit of reshuffling occured, Guillherme was put up front with Sidnei slotting into the midfield holding role. Guillherme didnt disapoint when he went up front scoring in the 71st minute
the Man of the Match was Guillherme

All n all a 3-1 victory making it 4 wins from 4. only Argentina are left now and they are bottom of the table
the attendance was 295

Hopefully I might get offered a club job after this tournament!!!
