South American U20 Championship

versus Argentina

So as the tournament draws to a close the match against Argentina begins, I'm missing 6 starting players and most of the lads are wrecked but we plough on!

in the early minutes, Willians Santana crosses in from the right for Guillherme to slot in the opener,
On the 29th minute Willians Santana converted one himself to start a 6 minute triple goal threat, ,Mauricio and Wanderely getting the other two on 32 and 35 minutes respectivily.

We go in at half time a very happy team :P

Willians Santana and Hugo were replaced by Guillherme and Feillpe Mattioni at half time

In the 83rd minute Ramon and Renato Augusto were struck by injury and brought off. Sidnei came on for Ramon however I had used all my subs so I was now playing with 10 men in the dying few minutes left..

All in all a great victory over our rivals
4-0 the final score.

The Man of the Match was Mauricio

Overall in the tournament we scored 31, conceded 6.

Guillherme was the top goal scorer with 6
Marquinhos had the most assists with 5
Douglas had a 86% pass completion rate
Willians Santana was the most impressive performer with a average of 7.65 over the 9 games
And a fun fact Willians Santana covered over 72km in the whole tournament!!

Yeah I had to, its only a squad of 22 so I had to pick the most consistant players...But I did sign him for United and he's currently at loan in Antwerp
good stuff but morgan schnderlin of southampton he is touted as the next michel platini in my game and hes class

After winning the S.A.M U20 Championship it was the end of some of the lads under 20's international careers, these included Douglas, Guillherme and Renato Augusto.

So I have come up with a new stack of players that hopefully will be Brazils future..

Our first new challenge was Peru which we beat 3-7 in the championship..

Wended up winning 0-1 from a Hugo header from our new dead ball specialist Thiago Carlito's corner.

All in all it was a even game and the debutants earned their stripes.

The Man of the Match was Willians Santana who has been signed for 9million euro by United

the attendance was 98 haha

The second match was adainst peru who we had beaten heavily in the Championship, we started off well with Thiago Carleto scoring his first underage goal from a set piece then Guillherme added his 9th and 10th underage goals just coming up to halftime.

At halftime Hugo and Marquinhos were replaced by Sidnei and Alex Texieria because of slight niggly injuries but better safe than sorry!!!
Also Thaigo Luis came on for Renan Oliveria

The remaining substitutes were made throught hte course of the second half.

Peru scored a consolation goal in late stoppage time..

Guillherme was Man of the Match
and the attendance was lower haha at 97..

Just wondering if people are finding this interesting or if it's making anyone pick a U20, U21 team to manage??(Not trying to be big headed)

The U20'S World Cup is looming fast and squad selection is in the next few days...As there is a ruling for the competition that players must be 19 or younger the squad is getting a re-vamp as we speak..

The group I have been put in includes:
Poland
Mexico
Uganda

After looking at the above teams squads it looks like they are full of shadow players yet that may change...

Is there any way of choosing a club and a national side at the start of the game??

Sure why not, two different types of challenges plus it can discover good young cheap players for you to sign?

This was the first time the lads had played together since the new re-vamp of the squad and I needn’t of worried..

The lads destroyed Poland 5-0 before half time!!
We were further assisted by a Polish chap getting sent off

In the second half, Fabio and Alex Texieria took knocks so they were brought off as a precaution.

We had a attendance of 381 which is one of the highest so far(maybe that should be looked at for FM 2010?)

The Man of the Match was Dentinho, he had his finger in every pie today and finished with a goal to his name.

We started this match without Fabio, Alex Texieria and Bernardo due to injury.

The match didn’t start well conceding to a Mexican corner but then Sidnei pulled it level with a well placed header.

Thiago Carleto then made us take the lead with a penalty after Sidnei was taken down in the box in the 6th minute of extra time before the half ended.

Marquinhos was replaced by Wellington,
Sidnei was replaced by Rafael Forster

In the second half we put Mexico on the back foot and kept working at them but unfortunately couldn’t convert. Then Mexico struck just before full time with yet another corner piece.

The Man of the Match was Sidnei

The attendance was 474! THE HIGHEST EVER!!!
