End of season

Thx mate! You did a great job too by achieving more than expected. Didn't really expect the team to go this far and win any silverware. I'm quite surprised actually tbh.

As the new season is coming soon, Valentino Rossi definitely have to make some changes to the squad. Rossi had not much choice but to release Claude Makelele due to his advancing age and huge wages even though he was part of the first team last season. He also offloaded goalkeeper Gregory Coupet and attacking midfielder Ludovic Giuly.

The PSG manager wasted no time and managed to bring in some good players once the transfer window was openend. They are Botia, Joe Hart and Senderos. Rossi has promised to the fans that more new signings will be coming soon to improve the squad as well as to challenge for European glory.

Transfers

With the new season looming P.S.G manager eric cantona has brought about the changes in his title challenging squad. With a starting transfer budget of around 11 million manager cantona had to sell before he could buy and he did jsut that with helder postiga leaving for around 6.25 million, luyindula leaving foir around 2.1 and christoph jallet leaving for around 2.6 million. with a bigger transfer budget manager Cantona could now really stamp his mark on this side. He brought some big names in and probably cuased a bit of a shock in france when he signed Anre Pierre Gignac for a fee reported to be around 7 million from rival side Talouse

He then went on a mission to sign a replacement for goalkeeper gregory coupet and borught in carlos kameni from espanyol for a fee similar to gignas of around 7 million.

And working up from the gaolkeeper he brought in two defenders in experienced brazillian left back maxwell for around 4.9 million from barcelona and he beat of interest from inter milan, real madrid and ac milan to sign young central defender nicalas otamendi for a fee also around 7 million.

he then also shcoked a few people by paying a realtively unkown team citadella a fee of around half a million pounds for youngster Sergi who cantona highly rates as a rising star.

Man of the Match: Mevlut Erdinc

Both teams created several good chances and tbh, either side could have won this exciting encounter but in the end, it was Rossi's side who had the last laugh as Guillaume Hoarau scored the winning goal through a counter attacked.
