Bryan Robson feels lucky after successful throat cancer surgery

FOOTBALL great Bryan Robson admits he feels “extremely lucky” after surgery for throat cancer.

The ex-England and Manchester United captain had a tumour removed in a Bangkok hospital.
But Robson, known as Captain Marvel to fans, is determined not to be held back – and says he already feels fit enough for a charity tour next month.

Robson, 54, will be involved in fundraising dinners for Unicef in Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur and Hong Kong in early April.

He said: “The prognosis is good, so I count myself extremely lucky.

“I am even more committed to raising funds to help improve the lives of *vulnerable youngsters.

“I have been overwhelmed by the support of United fans and well-wishers.”

Former Man United striker Andrew Cole, 39, who will join Robson on the tour, said: “It is fantastic news.”
