Blues boss resigns days after signing!

123ancelottiActionI_700444a.jpg

Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti yesterday resigned days after signing a deal at Stamford Bridge. He and Abramovich went into the board room on the 7/7/2009 at around 10:00AM regarding an issue. Sources are yet to know the full extent of Ancelotti's concerns, but believe it has something to do with the relationship Abramovich has with Ancelotti and the way the club is run.

Hours later, approximately 12:00PM, Ancelotti left the meeting with the owner and entered his car to leave, possibly the airport where there has been links to a move back to Italy and Milan. Around 3:00PM, sources understood a meeting was being taken in the board room with Abramovich with the new possible manager of Chelsea Football Club. An hour later, Ray Wilkins walked out with Abramovich. It has been known that Wilkins was given the opirtunity for a promotion, and become the new manager of Chelsea, but Ray Wilkins declined the offer, suggesting that a young man named Stuart Regan should become the successor to guide the club to lifting trophies over the coming year(s).

At 8:00PM the same night, news reports were flying all over the country and capital regarding who the new manager of Chelsea has become. Approximately 8:12PM, Stuart Regan, a British manager from West London has become the new manager of the London team, putting pen to paper on a 2 year deal worth £5 million per annum.

Cole causes horrific injury on Terry during training!

_44645943_terry_getty.jpg

Ashley Cole dived in heavily today during training on skipper John Terry, causing Chelsea to be without their captain for up to 6 months with a horrific leg brake (lower leg). Terry was seen to on the scene by paramedics which followed by an emergency trip to the nearest hospital.

Ashley Cole immediately got up to see Terry on the floor in extreme agony, to apologise and flag for attention. Cole was asked by reporters about the incident to which he replied with huge regret and sympathy. After the training session, the whole team went down to see him, including Regan and Abramovich. Terry is expected to be out of the season til Christmas, being treated by specialists during the time and a possible operation to bring his leg to better standards.

What did Regan have to say?

During an interview about the injury, Regan was asked about his thoughts,

"All our thoughts are with John and he will be sorely missed in training and for the first half of the season. He seems to be in a lot of pain, but is in high spirits in his hospital bed, and we hope for a speedy recovery"

Stuart expressed his emotion for the loss of Terry.

"John will be treated over the 6 months by a specialist and will be on medication to relieve the pain. John is expected to be back at training before Christmas and playing in a boxing day reserve game. We hope he will resume with the clubs captaincy after the new year."

I'm always tempted to go for the big signings, I did get Huntelaar once who teamed up with Drogba and they got 70 goals between them in their first season, but now I like to go with the young English hot prospects :D

Pre-season goes as planned for Regan!

2rnjxhe.jpg

As any pre-season results stand, Chelsea boss Stuart Regan should be happy with his new team as the pensioners go unbeaten in all 4 pre-season games. Chelsea started off against Wisla that finished 3-1. Regan then had a trip to Stade Malherbe Caen, that game finished nicely with a 3-0 victory, leaving Cech to keep his first clean sheet. The Pensioners then had a short trip up north to Elland Road against Leeds United. Yet again, Regan's men came out victorious with another 3-0 victory. The number 3 had come up quite a lot so far, and had become Chelsea's lucky number! Their final game against Leiria, which gave over a week and a half to prepare for the Community Shield. Chelsea came out winners again in a massive seven heaven victory, thrashing their opponents 7-0 and standing strong at the back, not allowing them to have a single shot for Cech to worry about. Regan was pleased with the results that his team pulled out and found that there was no major signing that needed to be done, other than a couple young English men from the lower leagues that caught his eyes in their seasons just gone.

Speculation surrounding the Bridge with youngster Lacina Traoré

29560-lacina-stirr.jpg

Chelsea could bag another hot prospect for the future when sources were told that young Ivorian striker Lacina Traoré was linked with a move to South-West London. Sources understand that Chelsea were in talks with his current club CFR Cluj with a move from Romania to England, but CFR Cluj are requesting offers that Chelsea wish to not agree with. Chelsea had reported to offer £1 million for the young Ivory Coast striker, but the offer was declined. Chelsea came in with another offer for £1.3 million which was accepted and left a meeting for the striker and Stuart Regan to decide the future of the 18 year old talented young star.

[UPDATE: Speculation surrounding the Bridge with youngster Lacina Traoré]

Lacina Traoré signs for Chelsea on 8/8/2009 for £1.3 million.

The season begins for Chelsea! - August update

chelsea-with-community-shield.jpg

Chelsea started off their season with a bang when they beat Manchester United in the Community Shield to win lift the silverware for the second season running - Regan's first silver piece on the shelf. It took more than the 90 minutes to decide the winner of the game when it ended 0-0 as the 90th minute whistle went and went to penalties. Rooney stepped up to take the very first penalty... Pressure gloomed over as an injury was picked up during his game... Aims for top right, Cech dives and saves! Rooney misses and the rest of the penalties followed up. Further on, all penalties were scored, finally to result in a 5-4 win on penalties for Chelsea!

Group comments:
It looks like a wintry trip all round for Chelsea, but this group seems easy to overcome. Shakhtar seem the only team to cause some trouble, and drop us a point or two, but I think we will win this group comfortably and proceed into the next round!

Are Chelsea beginning to miss Terry? - September update

96e8f52f0e8d27ccaa3820eed717-grande.jpg

Chelsea began September pretty well, but the ending didn't seem to resemble their winning start. The blues went in to September with 4 strong victories, gaining points, becoming top of the Premier league, and top of Group B in the Champions league. Coming in at the end of the month, Regan's team began to find games hard, losing drive and motivation, of which would usually come from their club captain John Terry. After losing against Sunderland, they hadn't lost since the second game of the season. Morale had seemed to drop in the squad, and against Rubin, towards the end of the game, it was a primary example of this when in the last moments of the game, the back four let Rubin's strikers get through, conceding 2 goals in 3 minutes.

The games in the month.

Match day 5
(AWAY)
Tottenham 1-2 Chelsea
Soloman Kalou (x2)

Champions League - Group B - Match day 1

League cup - Round 3

Match day 6
(HOME)
Chelsea 3-2 Hull City
Didier Drogba (x2)
Frank Lampard
MOTM: Didier Drogba

Match day 7
(AWAY)
Sunderland 2-1 Chelsea
Frank Lampard
MOTM: Michael Turner (Sunderland)

Champions League - Group B - Match day 2
(AWAY)
Rubin 2-3 Chelsea
Alex
Daniel Sturridge (x2)
MOTM: Daniel Sturridge

Month summary:
The month started well, but ended quite edgy with a loss to Sunderland that we dominated, but defensively took for granted, letting 2 of 4 shots get into the penalty area, and concede too easily. I believe the influence is being missed by John and the injury to our vice-captain, Lampard, was a big miss at the end of the month in the Sunderland and Rubin match. But we need to look up, keep positive and drive for top spot - sitting second isn't too shabby. Danny Sturridge is playing immense, Soloman Kalou is playing superbly and Didier is on form. It is evident who we are missing!

chelsea fan here, and I am loving the signing of smithies, get rid of that wastegash turnbull..! bring in delfouneso if you can! and if this is a long term thing, make it an objective to bring like 5 youth players into the first team in the next 5 years or something. my personal favourite is mceachran, keep your eye out for him, hes a genius ;) good luck.

I'm happy to have you comment on my posts ;) just kidding :D
Smithies is currently out on loan to Aston Villa for the season with the option to recall as I thought Guzan and Friedel would be chosen before him, and he wouldn't gain any first team experience (so just to be careful, I made sure I could recall him if I'm not happy with his appearances). It has got to October and he is yet to make a first team appearance with them, so I'll give it up to December maybe. Turnbull is absolutely rubbish - he played well against Villa in the League cup game, so I thought, have a go in the Sunderland game, and caused us to go 2-0 down at half time :S He's out come January!

Sorry for the long story :p but I am planning on staying for another year or two, and plan on bringing the youth up. I have my eye on a couple ones that I sent out on loan, but the under 18's haven't caught my eye yet. I'll keep everyone up to date :)

sounds ace :) yeah turnbull's a ********, get him out quick..
and if you were to watch chelsea's cup run this season (youth cup that is), you'll see we have some great talents, keep your eyes on tore, clifford, mceachran (good stats at beginning for 16 year old) and bruma. all look promising, see if you can make them good enough to get in the first team. and as for it being a long story, the longer the better imo :p kiu
