Celtic story - with a difference

great read so far cant wait to see how it turns out.Do you have any plans to let anyone download your work so we can have a go ourselves

Yeah possibly mate, i just want to make sure there arent any glitches for the time being as its the first time i've ever done anything like this.

Another cracking month, winning 5 out of the 6 games, and drawing the other. Most pleasing is the fact we managed to reach the FA cup 1st round! I know this doesnt sound much but is a massive achievement for us and was one of the big aims for us this year.
The month didn't start great with a disappointing draw at home to Leamington, then came the run of 5 straight wins.

CELTIC UTD 1 - 1 LEAMINGTON
A fairly tight game which saw Leamington take a shock lead only for Danny Webber to net an equaliser 10 minutes before the final wistle.
CELTIC UTD 3 - 1 GLOUCESTER - FA CUP 3RD QUALIFYING ROUND.
Another game in which we went 1-0 down, conceeding a shock early goal. We went on to dominate the game through and goals from Capitani, Tozer and a John Nutter penalty.
This victory saw us being drawn against AFC Telford who are currently bottom of the Conference (1 division higher).
View attachment 308097
I really feel this is a winable game, AFC Telford currently being on a 5 game losing streak!
GUISELEY 0 - 3 CELTIC UTD
Another good win, against a side who were supposedly mean to be towards the top of the league. An opener from Lee Maclean and a brace from Tristian Plummer ensured we collected all 3 points.
CELTIC UTD 3 - 0 TAMWORTH
This is now the 3rd game in a row in which we've scored 3 goals. Another goal from Tristian Plummer continued his great form, Ben Tozer and Lee Lucas put us into a 3-0 lead within the first half an hour.
CELTIC UTD 1 - 0 AFC TELFORD
Well i was quite right by thinking we could get past AFC Telford, a great performance was rounded of by yet another goal from Tristian Plummer which takes us into the first round of the FA cup.
BARROW 0 - 1 CELTIC UTD
A final 1-0 win against Barrow ensured we finished the month on a high. Capitani this time with the winner.

View attachment 308095
As you can see we've also been drawn a favourable tie in the FA cup 1st round, facing Newcastle Town who are one of the lowest rank teams left in the competition.

View attachment 308094
And better still, our first round match against Newcastle Town is televised!! Bringing in much needed finances as well.

So back to the league:

View attachment 308081
We finish the month in second place, 2 points behind leaders Solihull Moors. I'm actually a little surprised Solihull Moors are managing to keep up with us so far, especially after we beat them last month.

I also got some personal recognition,
View attachment 308080
Winning manager of the month for October. 3 wins out of 4 enables me to win our fist manager of the month award of the save.

Lets also have a look how at how the two 'parent' clubs got on in October:

View attachment 308079
Celtic pick up slightly but still find themselves 4 points behind Dundee Utd but do have a game in hand.

And Rangers:

View attachment 308073
Rangers also have a good month and pick up in the league slightly. The climb up to 3rd in the league, but a massive 7 points behind Alloa. They have managed to cement their play off place however by pulling away from Falkirk, now 4 points clear.

View attachment 307726

Another cracking month! November was definitely a busy month with 8 games to be played all together. This wasnt helped with a replay against Newcasle town in the FA cup 1st round.

CELTIC UTD 3 - 0 HYDE
A good win here against a mid table team on decent form. More importantly however was Solihull Moors only managed a draw with Oxford City meaning we overtake them and take 1st spot thanks to our superior goal difference.
View attachment 307714

BOSTON UTD 2 - 4 CELTIC UTD
Another good away win, this time away to 5th place Boston Utd. A Matteo Capitani bags his first every hat-trick to take home both the 3 points and the match ball. Lee Maclean also got on the scoresheet bagging the opener. Again, the stats would suggest a tight game but our finishing was fantastic.

View attachment 307711

NECASTLE TOWN 2 - 2 CELTIC UTD
A very entertaining game for our fist ever tekevised matc. It looked as though we'd go straight trough with a 1-0 win after Matteo Capitani scored the opener. Mark Tomlinson then grabbed an equaliser for Newcastle Town and minutes later they took the lead through Les Walters. Fortunately, Tristian Plummer managed to find a late equaliser meaning we take this back to Celtic Park for the replay.

View attachment 307709

CELTIC UTD 1 - 0 COLWYN BAY
Again, another close game but pleasing to just get the 3 points here. Lee Maclean with the winner.

View attachment 307707

CELTIC UTD 1 - 0 NECASTLE TOWN

Finally we manage to get past Newcastle Town and reach the 2nd round! Tristian Plummer bagging the winner. This is one of only a few games where we've managed to dominate posession.

View attachment 307706

Our prize for beating Newcastle Town was a second draw against League 2 York. York are currently bottom of league 2 so alhough this is a difficult tie i fancy us to go even further in this competition.

View attachment 307699

This game was also our 20th unbeaten:
View attachment 307686

CHORLEY 5 - 5 CELTIC UTD
What a bizare game! Goals were just banging in every few minutes (it seemed). We actually went 2-0 thanks to goals from Matteo Capitani and Lee Maclean. Chorley then not only equalised but took the lead thanks to a Luke Pritchard hattrick. Tristian Plummer then levelled before Lee Maclean put us 4-3 up, but the game wasnt finished there! Darren Stephenson then levelled before Capitani scored his second of the game putting us 5-4 up before Luke Pritchard got a dramatic equaliser to level at 5-5! Definitely we weirdest game iv been in charge for.

View attachment 307704

CELTIC UTD 3 - 0 NORTH FERRIBY
Another fairly comfortable win against a team we really should be beating. Craig Clark opened the scoring before Matteo Capitani scored yet again! Captain Lee Maclean then rounded off the scoring.

View attachment 307692

CELTIC UTD 0 - 1 RANGERS UTD - FA trophy 3rd Qualifying round
What a disappointing end to the month. Although we werent particularly bothered about the FA trophy you always want to beat your rivals. Our performance wasnt too bad but just couldnt find our shooting boots.

View attachment 307691

So at the end of November we find ourselves a point clear of Solihull Moors in top spot.

View attachment 307681

Celtic dropped off a little bit this month, falling 7 points behind leaders Dundee Utd.

View attachment 307680

Rangers also find themselves away off top spot, 8 points in fact.

View attachment 307677

Wow, very good results there mate.

Must of sucked to lose to Rangers Utd though! :S

Wow, very good results there mate.

Thanks mate! Yeah i hated losing to Rangers Utd, we really deserved at least a draw as well.

If anyone has any recommendations/suggestions for extra info or screenshots then please let me know :)

Another good month for us here, we managed to get over the Rangers Utd defeat well to win 4 out of the 5 games in December.
The best win coming in the FA cup 2nd round against League 2 side York. We were banging in the goals as well in December, scoring 5 against Oxford City, 5 against Bradford PA and 4 against Harrogate.

GAME OF THE MONTH: As touch upon earlier, this has to be the win at home to York! This was a pretty even game but a great finish from Danny Webber grabbed the winner. I really felt we could get a win here before the game as York are on a terrible run and found themselves bottom of League 2.

View attachment 306949

PLAYER OF THE MONTH: This award has to go to our left winger Tristian Plummer! He bagged 3 goals in the 5 games including the 1st against Harrogate. This award could have easily gone to Danny Webber who also scored 3 goals in 5 games. However i fet Plummer had better all round performances during this period.

Another injury for us this month which is becoming a regular feature:

View attachment 306948

Matteo Capitani injured yet again, this time for up to 7 weeks with a twisted ankle! This is his second long(ish) term injury which really doesnt help as he was just coming into some good form.

Well after another a good month, we manage to keep top spot, being 3 points clear of Solihull Moors. Rangers Utd have also picked up some good form and now find themselves in the play off places on goal difference.

View attachment 306967

Scottish Celtic also had a good month and have now almost caught leaders Dundee Utd and only miss out on top spot by goal difference. It all looks very tight at the top of the Scottish Premiership though, only 4 points seperate the top 4.

View attachment 306965

Scottish Rangers have sort of just maintained their position. There now 3 points clear of Raith and are clinging onto the last play off position.

View attachment 306950

Our good month was once again recognised with Chris Sutton winning his second manager of the month award.

View attachment 306980

The end of December also brought to end the voting for the World Player of the year award. And this years winner is ...

LIONEL MESSI

I actually thought Ronaldo would have pipped Messi to this award. Ronaldo scored 23 goals in 33 games with an average rating of 8.02. Messi has a far better average rating but only scored 11 goals. I think this must be due to injury as he only managed 18 appearances.

Jake Humphrey - So here we are at Celtic Park ready for the newly formed Celtic Utd taking on Championship side Millwall.
I'm joined with former Liverpool and Real Madrid midfielder, Steve McManaman and former QPR and Crystal Palace manage, Neil Warnock.
So chaps, how do we see the game going today?

Neil Warnock - Well i think Celtic have got a great chance, me. Millwall are really struggling and the FA cup just wont be high on their priority list this season.

Steve McManaman - I agree that Celtic will give Millwall a good game today but i think the Championship side will just have too much for the newbies. It looks as though Millwall will be starting with Keei Kamara up-front who hasnt had the best season so far but without doubt has the ability to cause Utd problems today.

Neil Warnock - I just think winning breads confidence and Celtic will have so much today! Whereas Millwall havent won in 7 games so will be feeling rock bottom right now. If Utd attack Millwall i think they'll have a chance.

Jake Humphrey - Okay, well lets see how they get on:

KICK OFF

4"
The first chance to the match goes to the away side, Martin Woolford with an effort from 20 yards goes just wide of the post.
13"
Danny Webber puts a great chance just over the bar following a low cut back from captain Lee Maclean.
17"
Another chance for Danny Webber who takes on Damien Delaney and manages to get his shot away, which is parried wide by David Forde.
24"
A good run from Kris Twardek who gets a lucky deflection off Stephane Zubar and manages to get his shot away which hits the post! The re-bound then falls to Kei Kamara who smashes the ball past the hopeless Steve Phillips.
GOAL - Kei Kamara
Celtic Utd 0 - 1 Millwall.

29"
A cross from deep from Martin Woolford aims for Kei Kamara, centre back Craig clark looks to have this under control as he watches the flight of the ball, but Clark gets his angles wrong and Kei Kamara is straight in. Kamara finished from only 6 yards out.
GOAL - Kei Kamara
Celtic Utd 0 - 2 Millwall.

View attachment 306883

36"
A good chance for Tristian Plummer who took on, and beat full back, Carlos Edwards and manages to get a hopeful shot away which drifts wide. Webber was free in the area which may have been a better option.

HALF TIME.

Jake Humphrey - so, as maybe expected, the Championship side have showed their class and have been by far the better side.

Neil Warnock - Yeah, i'm actually disappointed with Utd in the first half because they haven't really gone for it! Webber's had a couple of chances but nothing you could say "he should have scored that".

Steve McManaman - I agree with Neil, i think Celtic have found it really difficult to cope with the class of Millwall. There'll really need to pick up their performance level if they want to get back into this match.
KICK OFF.

53"
Another chance for Millwall as Kei Kamara yet again has a good shooting opportunity. This time from the edge of the box which is saved well by Phillips.
60"
Magaye Gueye with a free kick 30 yards out, goes for the top left corner. Steve Phillips totally flaps at this and allows the ball to slip through this fingers. Game, set and match!
GOAL - Magaye Gueye
Celtic Utd 0 - 3 Millwall

View attachment 306880

78"
Tristian Plummer picks the ball up on halfway and makes a cross field pass to Lee Maclean to whip in a cross for Benyon who gets his head on it, David Forde saves well but only palms it back to Plummer who finished low and hard. Is this game back on?!
GOAL - Tristian Plummer
Celtic Utd 1 - 3 Millwall
82"
Celtic Utd 1 - 3 Millwall
Lee Maclean with a corner which David Forde drops onto the back of Matthew Briggs who without knowing knocks into the back of his own goal. Definitely game on now!
GOAL - Matthew Briggs (OG)
Celtic Utd 2 - 3 Millwall

View attachment 306879

88"
Lee Maclean with a run down the right manages to get a low cross in for Benyon who must score ... but balloons it over the bar. What a chance!
94"
A free kick for Utd on halfway, surely the last chance now. Steve Phillips launches the ball in the box for Craig Clark who gets his head on it but heads it onto the roof of the net.

FULL TIME.

So, a lot has happened since the last update.

View attachment 306334

January was a good month for us with 5 wins in a row, the only poor result was the home defeat to Stockport. At the end of January we finish 9 points above second place Solihull Moors.

GAME OF THE MONTH - Has to be the away win against second place Solihull Moors, this result is the main reason we're far infront at the top of the league.

PLAYER OF THE MONTH - Has to go to center back Craig Clark, with 5 clean sheets in a row this had to go to one of the defenders. Clark also popped up with a couple of goals.

We also had a good February, finishing the month unbeaten. We continued our good defensive record by keeping 2 clean sheets in 5 games.

View attachment 306326

GAME OF THE MONTH - Probably has to go with the home draw with Rangers Utd here i think. Although we had good wins against Gloucester and Guiseley, Rangers Utd were on such good form that i was a little wary going into the game.

PLAYER OF THE MONTH - I have to go with loanee, Josh Giles here. Giles only came into the side due to the injury to Tristian Plummer who was out for 2 months. Giles bagged the opener against Gloucester and got a brace against Guiseley.

View attachment 306317
A poor month for Solihull Moors means we manage to pull 11 points clear of them at the top.

View attachment 306314
A mixed month in March with 2 wins and 2 loses. This is probably the worst month we've had so far!

GAME OF THE MONTH - Not a lot to chose from here, probably has to be the 2-0 win against Tamworth.

PLAYER OF THE MONTH - Lee Maclean had a good month with 2 goals and an assist. Similar with the game of the month awards, there wasnt much to chose from here either.

Although we didnt have a great month, we did have some fantastic news during March ...

View attachment 306311
We managed to secure a play off space already with still another 5 games to go. With just 5 games to go, only another couple of wins are needed to win the title.

View attachment 306308

View attachment 306299

A good final month see's us have wins over Chorley, North Ferriby and Oxford City. We also managed to record 3 clean sheets out of the 5 games. The only disappointment for us was the final day defeat to Bradford Pa.

GAME OF THE MONTH - Has to go to the 2-0 win against Chorley, this was the only game i could see us slipping up against so was nice to get the win.

PLAYER OF THE MONTH - Matteo Capitani had a cracking month, scoring 4 goals in 5 games. Looks like he's finally got over his injuries now.

So after those wins, we managed to confortably win the league. Eventually finishing 13 points above Rangers Utd who finished on great form and managed to bag second spot. They'll now have to face Tamworth in the play off semi final.

View attachment 306296

View attachment 306295
So Rangers Utd managed to win their second final match against Tamworth and will face 4th placed Solihull Moors in the final. Solihull Moors deserve their place in the play off final as they were in second place until about 3 weeks before the end of the season.

View attachment 306294
So a 2-0 win against Solihull Moors made sure Rangers Utd join us in the Conference Premier Division. In a way i'm pleased about this as it will add some rivalry in the next division.

So now i thought id bring you the final league tables concerning the two 'parent clubs':

First of all, our 'parent club' Celtic ended up winning the Scottish Premier League by a massive 16 points! This is a great achievement as they were about 8 points behind at one stage.

View attachment 306292
Rangers also managed to secure promotion, to the Scottish Premier League. Rangers also did really well managing to win the league as they were miles behind at the halfway point.

View attachment 306288

Okay, so Pre-Season starts and the awards are being dished out:

View attachment 306048
Lee Maclean easily won the fans player of the award with a massive 74% of the vote.

View attachment 306047

Pretty disappointed to not even be mentioned for this award if I'm honest. I maybe ballsed up a bit by voting for eventual winner Marcus Bignot (Solihull Moors). But i really feel i should be at least in the top 3!

View attachment 306044

Rangers Utd Gerry McDowell won the player of the season award. He was really the only choice, with 28 goals and 15 assists in 38 games.

View attachment 306043

The season summary confirms the promoted and relegated teams as well as the top scorer award. It was nice for Lee Maclean to get the most assists of anyone in the league. But most pleasing was us winning the signing of the season 'award' with the signing of Matteo Capitani.
Capitani finished the season with 14 goals and 6 assists in 24 games. Not bad for an 18 year old.

View attachment 306041
The board seem pretty happy wit everything after the first season. Very happy with the wage spend and squad harmony. They also noted that the fans were happy with the signing of Lee Lucas and Ben Tozer.

View attachment 306040

Quite surprisingly Liverpool manage to win their first ever Premier League title !! It went down to the last game of the season with them winning it by 1 goal ! This is due to rivals Man Utd losing to Swansea on the last game of the season which allowed Liverpool to ****** it.

View attachment 306038
Man City finished a disappointing season with some silverware, beating Newcastle in extra time in the League Cup final.

View attachment 306034
The FA cup was won by Manchester Utd who at least have something to celebrate after losing the League title in sch dramatic circumstances.

View attachment 306037
Celtic (scotland) also ended up having a great season, winning both the league title and the Scottish cup. Beating Partick Thistle 3-0 in the final.

Well done for winning the league! Especially over Rangers uTd after they finished 2nd! Really thought you were gonna grab the equaliser in that fa cup 3rd rnd tie! So unlucky!
Good to see your big derby will remain next season!
You feeling optimistic for a consecutive promotion?

Thanks mate! I really did as well, put as many up front as i could late on but just couldnt find a 3rd.
Yeah i am pretty optimistic to be honest, we've made some good additions which i'll post later tonight!

Glad you're still following the story :)

View attachment 306007
View attachment 306005 View attachment 306004
Nicky Shorey became the first new addition on the squad, joining on a free from Portsmouth. Shorey will give us plenty of experience and should a good set piece taker.

View attachment 306002
Next we had Danny Webber leave the club after just 1 season. Danny Webber didnt have a bad season with us, scoring 11 and assisting 9 in just 20 games. Unfortunately for Danny, he's getting on a bit and injuries has started to kick in. His wages were also pretty high for a player not guaranteed a start.

View attachment 305999 View attachment 306000

Our next addition was Paul McMullan. This is our first piece of business done with 'parent club' Celtic, hopefully this will be the first of many loan signings as we climb up the league.

View attachment 305997 View attachment 305994

Another striker joins, this time in the shape of Michael Chopra! Chopra signed from Scunthorpe after only making 14 appearances last season.

View attachment 305992 View attachment 305991

Alex Davey becomes he 4th signing of this pre-season. I didnt really think we needed to strengthen the center backs but i just couldnt turn down signing Davey! Davey signs from Chelsea on a free transfer, he only made 1 appearances for the club.

View attachment 305987 View attachment 305986

Yet another attacking player joins the squad. Hope and Davey are probably the best players we've signed in this period. Both very young players with bright futures in the game!
Hope signs on a free after leaving Everton, he had rather unsuccessful loan spells at Sheff Wed and Crew last year and only found the net once.

Thanks mate! I really did as well, put as many up front as i could late on but just couldnt find a 3rd.
Yeah i am pretty optimistic to be honest, we've made some good additions which i'll post later tonight!

Glad you're still following the story :)

No doubt will get more and more interesting the higher up the league ladder you climb. But its fun to see it all start from the beginning!

Just read through your story, love the concept, will be following, good luck for the new season!

View attachment 304774
So we had a much better pre-season this time around! We even managed a great 1-1 draw again Championship side Ipswich!!

We also completed a couple of further signings before the season started:

View attachment 304773 View attachment 304772

Our latest signing is the experienced midfielder Andy Robinson from League 2 side Shrewsbury, Robinson played 28 games in league 2 last season scoring 4 goals. However his age is now catching up with him which meant him dropping down a league.

View attachment 304771 View attachment 304770

Right back Jason Thomson becomes the latest addition to our squad. Signing for £15k from Hearts. Kevin Lowdon did brilliantly for us at right back last season but i feel he lacks the quality needed for this step up.

View attachment 304769 View attachment 304768

I think this is the biggest transfer of the summer for us! Bringing back fan favourite LEE LUCAS! Lucas came in on loan late last season and was arguably our best player. He's only 23 so has plenty of time to improve, my assistant manager believes he has the potential to be be a leading player in league 1.

View attachment 304767 View attachment 304765

Next we managed complete a double loan signing from League One side Sheffield Utd. Goalkeeper George Willis and Winger Callum McFadzean both join on season long loans. George Willis will challenge fellow new boy Steve Phillips, my only doubt over Willis is his age, 20 years old is very young for a goalkeeper.
Callum McFadzean will be acting as cover for Tristian Plummer, with the amount of games we're due to play this season though he really should get a fair opportunity.

View attachment 304764

Last but not least is our capture of Tom Soares on a free transfer. Soares had previously been at Bury where his contract ran out in the summer. He should offer great competition to Lee Lucas and Olly Lee for the cm positions.

View attachment 304763
What a great start to life in the Conference Premier Division. We started the season with an incredible 4 wins on the bounce followed by a decent point against Bristol Rovers. The 2-0 defeat away at Kidderminster being the only negative.

GAME OF THE MONTH: This is a difficult one betwen the 4-1 win against Wrexham and the 3-1 win against Aldershot. I'd just go with the Wrexham win, our fist home win at this level and a complete performance. Also having 4 different scorers is pleasing!
View attachment 304761

View attachment 304760
We finish the month in 3rd position, just 2 points behind leaders Hartlepool. Certainly promising for the rest of the season.

View attachment 304759
I guess quite predictably, the managers of the top 3 side are all mentioned in August's award. Chris Sutton coming 3rd.

View attachment 304758
Both Craig Clark and Tristian Plummer getting a mention in the player of the month award. Unfortunately, they were never going to beat Rangers Utd forward, Gerry McDowell who scored 9 goals in 6 games!

View attachment 304757

Chris Sutton also managed to bag his coaching license in this month meaning he now has a Continental C license.

View attachment 304443
An unbeaten month in September leaves us top of the league!

GAME OF THE MONTH - I'm going to give this award to the 3-0 win at home to Southport. Although this victory was expected, we really were totally dominant. A tristian Plummer hattrick won us the 3 points but everyone played their part in a great performance.

View attachment 304440

PLAYER OF THE MONTH - This award has to go to Lee Lucas, Lucas scored 3 goals in the 7 games from midfield. He also won 3 man of the match awards. Hallam Hope comes a close second, also scoring 3 goals during this period.
