I'm seven years in with Basingstoke, I have won the BSS title, FA Trophy, League 2 title, and the JPT trophy twice, but only favored personnel.
The club was nothing before me were is the realism there
If someone done that to Basingstoke in real life they would be a club legend

I won two straight Champions League titles, three MLS trophies, 1 Pan-Pacific Championship, made it to the Club World Championship Semis against Juventus, and signed hilariously talented players, and I don't even become favoured personnel, let alone a legend. It's really annoying, but when I leave Toronto FC, the management call me their long-serving servant or something along those lines.

I think whether the team you manage is your favoured club or not plays a factor on how quickly you become 'favoured personnel'.
