Concerts and gigs

I got roped into to see a band in Birmingham a couple of weeks ago called Airbourne, they are a prog rock band heavily influenced by AC/DC. To be honest they were awful but they were supported by a band called THE STONE GODS and they totally rocked. After some investigation I found out out that 2 of the members were ex Darkness.

Rock fans - check em out.

I've heard one Airbourne song and thought it was ok. Would hardly call it prog rock, but it did sound a bit AC/DC, Led Zep kinda style. I think being friends with Lemmy has helped them a bit :P

I am now going to see Rise Against and Anti-flag twice in 3 days and also I am going to Leeds on friday to see Smoke Or Fire and stopping at my mates house for a few days, should be very good fun.

last gig was Mogwai at Manchester Academy next is Slipknot at the MEN, followed by Metallica in Feb then Oasis at Heaton Park. Unless other bands pop up inbetween too.

I think you're about to be liked on here. Quite a few love Mogwai, and I like Slipknot and love Metallica :D You seeing Tallica at the MEN as well??

yep not the greatest venue but Metallica will rock the cr*p out of it \m/ :D

I prefer the Apollo, but it is not as good since LN took it over

Well I'm hoping Metallica do what they did when I went to the Death Magnetic release gig and have the stage in the middle :D. The seating chart implies thats what they'll do, which will make it so much more awesoooooooooooooooooooome.

Gonna see Snow Patrol up at Newcastle Metro Radio Arena on 10th March, suprise xmas present for our lass so sssshhh! :p

Airbourne are Brilliant, only heard the album no idea what they are like live.

I saw the Stone Gods in February, they were excellent. Dan Hawkins is the only original Darkness member in them like as Ed has left.

haha thanks James :)

Hmmm heard Nickelback got a British tour next year and playing up Newcastle, may look into that!

lol^. My brother went to see Nicklback a couple of months ago with his bird, he got the tickets well in advance-then Metallica announced a gig on the same day. He was gutted ttm.

I went to Warehouse Project last night in Manchester-its an awesome venue underneath the train station :D. Simian Mobile Disco live (i think) and Chemical Brothers DJ set it was, and my god it was immense. Really amazing

Foo Fighters 2008 gig

I watched the foo fighters 2008 gig on TV last week when they performed in Wembley, it was pretty good and they played their biggest hits. Anyone else see it?
