Despite losing our last 2 games of the season we still managed to win the league an impressive 8 points clear of Celtic.

So we scored the most goals this season in the league but our defence did suffer for our attacking tactic.

The player stats for the league show that it was more of a team effort this year as none of our players really stood out bar Fraser Aird chipping in with a lot of assists.

Not a bad return from one of my free transfers, i had some preconceptions of Church from a previous FM were he didnt perform well but he proved me wrong this season.

Player of the Year - Jay Simpson

Despite being my 3rd striker scoring 19 goals is pretty good going and he was more of a match winner and put in some decent displays to go with it.

Young Player of the Year - Fraser Aird

Well he has been a bit good for me this season and is another free transfer from the beginning of the season. His season isnt over yet though as he will be going with Scotland to the Under 21 European Championships.

So i plucked for retaining the title this season and was given around ?10million transfer budget to spend which i immediately turned into a bigger wage budget. There are so many free transfers around that will improve the squad so i dont feel like i need to buy anyone.

First off just to let MatthewElphinstone know Cammy Smith moved to Sunderland for 500k and he wouldnt even talk to me!

So i signed quite a few players, 11 i think here are my key 3 and the rest will follow.

I picked up the young Scotsman on a free transfer after his Norwich contract expired, In real life hes expected to do big things and the likes of Arsenal and Man Utd are chasing him so lets see what he can do!

Carl Jenkinson - DR

Reunited after being together for 2 years at Arsenal, another free transfer and is more than capable at this level.

So i picked up 4 Scottish players in total after the media moaned about my lack of home-grown players despite playing so many young Scots.

So what do you all think of the new signings? Not a penny spent on any of them and a much younger bunch of players than last years signings.

Starting Line Up and Tactic For New Season

Im going to give the Tika Taka Tactic another go after it didnt work for me last season with Rangers or the year before with Shakhtar but it was so impressive for me in France. As you can see 5 of the new signings are in the current line up but its more about the squad this season so starting lineups mean little for me at the moment.

A terrible month in the league! After winning 5 on the bounce last month we lose valuable points losing and drawing twice with the only saving grace the draw with Man City.

I think im going to have to scrap the tika taka tactic i seem to have a lot of possession but still concede silly goals and squander a lot of chances.

Some tactics seem broken after the 14.1.4 update and also, possession football doesn't result in too much goals as opposition crowds their defensive half. I watched a match and even Suarez was deeper than my CM, their 8 players were in their defensive third. Try your own tactic, possession tactics need a lot of refining to work. The IFs are position way too above, therefore contributing less in build up from deep. :P

Definitly agree that the patches seem to destroy tactics, tika taka has been out the window in october, november and december so will have to see if own tactic has improved the team!

Some tactics like this need individual brilliance from players and are more useful with the big boys.
 
also i would be keen on maybe knicking your tactic as i do need some change from the standard 4-2-3-1.. it's good but i appreciate a different option...

An unbeaten month as we pick up 2 more draws in the Champions League including an impressive draw against Barcelona with Gauld scoring the equalizer, the draw in the league against Aberdeen was a poor match and brings to an end my record of beating them in 5 previous encounters.

We lost our last game of the group stages against Barcelona but it didnt matter as we complete the impossible and qualify for the Champions League knockout stages.

So Stewart is running away with the Golden Boot, I was given a bit of money to spend in the winter transfer window and had all but agreed to sign Stewart for around ?6million but decided against it as i didnt feel like i needed to spend that sort of money to still win the league.​

Hes a good player for this level and amazing for a free transfer, i played him a bit on my Man Utd save last year but he never really reached his potential, He is a dirty ****** though and has got sent off twice already this season.
