When using the Strikerless formation, do people retrain their strikers to the SS potion or do they just sell their strikers and buy more suitable players for those position?

It depend on your team financial and your team reputation,
when you're managing a poor team,
you usually use the striker formation for the first season just because :
1. You can't afford a great quality shadow striker
2. Even if you could (after selling your strikers), your team low reputation usually doesnt attract a great shadow striker.
But if you're managing big teams, I guess it's okay to sell the striker and find better player for ss position.

Depends on the quality aguero isnt a natural there for me but still

Yes, I see. You rotate one AMC to DM? Then you switch one SS to AP, isn't it? And the player instructions to the DM? Do you change the instructions from SS or stay with the same?

I am giving this tactic a change with Roda JC in the Netherlands. A team who has no really outstanding players and fight against relegation the last 3 years in the Dutch League.
I made no Tranfers in! and did NOT use intant result
STRIKERLESS
Friendly Home VS Roda JC B 2-2 Not quite dominating my B team and gave away a 2-0 lead
Friendly Home VS Roda JC -19 4-2 Again not dominating and let them come to 1-1 and 3-2 before making the 4-2
Friendly Away VS Racing Mechelen (BEL 3rd Amateur Div) 0-2 Had difficulties again this non league team. Got penalty to ensure win and a red card (77min)
Friendly Away VS Royal Antwerp (BEL 2nd Division) 0-4 Gave all players a rest day after the previous match. After the red card dominated match in possesion and gave NO chances to the opponent. Was ahead 0-2 within 20 Minutes. Red card opponent happend just before the 0-3
Friendly Home VS SV Hönnepel (German Lower div) 3-0 Again a quick 2-0 lead (13 min). In the 2nd half after a 3-0 lead i made some changes (f.e. a Striker who was not an AMC). Nothing important happened :-(
Friendy Home VS vv Cesar (Dutch Lower div) 7-0 Again gave all players a rest day after previous match. Gave some prospects (3) a change to play. 3-0 ahead after 20 minutes. Leading 4-0 at half time i gave my key players a rest. The 3 prospects got some minutes In the second half we exended our lead to 7-0. It seems like they know what to do!
Friendly Home VS EHC (Dutch 5th Div) 2-0 After that large victory i gave all players 2 days rest and kept the 3 prospects in the team. 1 of them in the starting 11. He scored after 10 minutes. But it was still only 1-0 at half time. In the second half my substituted Prospect made the 2-0. Gave almost no chances to the opponent.
League Home VS Heerenveen 2-0 Now for the real test with equal or better oppenents. Gave a rest day after previous match. Morale is superb.Do not have the correct players f.e. DCL is right footed. Got no lefty. Formation knowledge is not up to 90% so i keep training this in match preperation. Had a couple of small chances in the first half but ended up 0-0. Got 1-0 ahead and creating more chance. Made no changes untill the 70 minute und substituted 2 players. The last 10 minutes we were lucky they hit the crossbar but then again we missed a chance one on one. In the injury time they made an own goal.
League Away VS Ajax 2-0 Visiting Ajax, one of the canidates for the title. Loosing here would be no shame and not to blame on the tactic. Ajax played 0-0 in their first match against AZ so who knows what can happen. Both teams did not create any changes in the first 20 minutes. Got lucky when they hit the crossbar. End of the first half 0-0. No substiutions made. In the 70th minute i substituted a tired MCL and a nerveus AMCL. They scored the 1-0 right after that and also the 2-0 but again this is no shame when you have players like Klaassen, Onana or Ziycech.
League Home VS PSV Eindhoven 0-0 Another canidate for the title and like Ajax better players. I do not expect this team to beat Barcelona 4-0 in the Champions League final ;-)
Anyway a loss is calculated. After the defeat the morale dropped to Pretty bad which is not good for the team. We were the better team in the first half and creating some big chances. Halftime 0-0. After the break they got their first real chance but it was offside. Got some one on ones in the second half but after 70 minutes still 0-0. I tried a winger as an AMC (since i had no ones left). PSV missed a penalty (great keeping). Ended the game 0-0 but with far more chances then PSV.
League Away VS Feyenoord 2-1 Luck of the draw but the 3rd canidate for the title (actually they won it in real life this season). They lost their first 3 matches and are ranked 18th. In Real life they were NR 1 after day 1 and in the end.
Anyway, we need points. They started better and we were lucky some times. Unfortunately they scored after 30 minutes. Seems like we have the away syndrome. Luckely we got the 1-1 before halftime but again we fail short as they almost imidately after scored the 2-1. I was thinking on setting the formation on attack. i did this the last 20 Minutes but after a red card i changed it back.
This is not going like i hoped :-( I had a 4-1-4-1 Tactic in FM2015 where i dominated the EPL and Europe with Bristol Rovers after we promoted every year.
Cup Away Rijnsburgse Boys (Dutch 4th Division) 0-2 A cup match. Normally i give my key players rest but not now. This match must be won. Got 2 disallowed goals (offside) in the first 20 minutes. So frustating but a couple of minutes later we finally scored the 0-1. Halftime. We almost gaven no chances to the opponent but still the lead is 0-1 after 60 minutes. In the last half hour we scored the 0-2. Created not much after the 0-2
From this point forward i went on holiday to speed things up (not sure if that changes alot but i kept the training and tactic) and these were the results:
League Home ADO Den Haag 2-0
League Away Heracles 1-2
League Home FC Twente 3-0
League Away Vitesse 1-0
Cup Away Flevo Boys 1-2
League Home AZ 1-0
League Away Willem II 1-1
Result so far:
Ranked: 4th
Prediction: 13th

i guess it workes even better if you can buy better players or the correct players but for an below avarage team and no transers it worked great!
Giving the striker opion a chance in my next lower team test.

Just giving my 2 cents about Instant Result/Simulate match: I played 2.5 seasons using the simulate match, trying to find a consistent tactic, without sucess. I'm playing LLM, and now I'm at league 2. After spending half the season buried into relegation zone I stopped using simulation so I could fix the problems. Actually playing the game has improved a lot my results, wihtout changing anything. So for me, simulate match is not as near as effective as actually playing the match.

There isnt one, try CFM
