Dude, Where's My Club? - A Journeyman

Great season! Like said above, it'll be a massive challenge to break into the top five but you've had a great season nonetheless. I'm looking forward to seeing how you fair in the Europa League.

It'll be a big challenge, especially with European football

Sorry about the lack of updates recently, I've been really busy recently and real life is getting in the way of FM at the moment unfortunately

BAGGIES PICK UP WHERE THEY LEFT OFF
hal-robsonkanu-of-west-bromwich-albion-celebrates-scoring-his-sides-picture-id654771198

West Bromwich Albion have picked up where they left off last season, which they finished by going unbeaten in 14 games in all competitions, winning 13, by posting a solid start to the 2023/24 season

The season began at Anfield where Liverpool raced into a 1-0 lead via Baggies transfer target Nicolas Alvares, who picked Anfield over the Hawthorns in the summer. West Brom turned things around after half-time however, with Brazilian star Egnaldo bagging goals in the 55th and 72nd minutes to secure a 2-1 win for West Brom

Albion then hosted Arsenal at the Hawthorns, with West Brom's ageing midfielder Aaron Ramsey putting in a man of the match performance against his former club, with the Wales international scoring the winner just 7 minutes from time

West Brom closed the month with a frustrating 2-2 draw against Stoke City who pegged the Baggies back twice to secure a point

This leaves West Bromwich Albion in 5th after three games

BAGGIES HOLD ON TO EUROPEAN GLORY
gettyimages-687803714.jpg

WEST BROMWICH ALBION 3
MANCHESTER CITY 1

West Bromwich Albion hung on to European glory on a night that should have been relatively straightforward for the Baggies

A formation change to what worked earlier in the season and a Manchester City squad depleted by injuries saw West Brom race into a 3-0 first half lead courtesy of a brace from Egnaldo and a strike from Oliver Burke

The Baggies, however, stopped playing in the second half and found themselves beating away wave after wave from Manchester City, who were kept out by their own inept finishing and an inspired performance from Jack Butland

Many feel this result has saved Bagges boss Hawkins' job following rumours that the board were going to sack the Welshman following a poor 2024 which saw West Brom pick up just 22 points as they slumped back into 7th spot, 22 points behind title winners Manchester United, who the Baggies were neck and neck with earlier in the campaign

Hawkins, however, has come out swinging, claiming that the Baggies' slump was evidence that he needed a lot more money than he was being given by the West Brom board in order to compete, an attitude shared by Baggies supporters, who are supportive of their manager
