What a season. What a ride.
Millwall are Championship winners with 107 points – a campaign that honestly exceeded every expectation from day one.

From early struggles, squad limitations, and league rules that punished cheap loan solutions, to total dominance over 46 games, this team grew into true champions. Consistency was the key: results, mentality, and belief. Week after week, Millwall delivered.

The FA Cup run added even more drama. Reaching the semi-final and losing only on penalties against Manchester United says everything about the character of this squad. Against one of the strongest teams in the game, Millwall didn’t just survive – they competed. That match was also the moment where I introduced a new tactical idea.

Volcano Fortress 3-4-1-2 (Double DM)

Alongside the classic Volcano system, I tested Volcano Fortress 3-4-1-2 with two DMs, especially designed to face teams like Manchester United who play with double AMCs.
The idea is simple:

  • Almost the same attacking structure
  • Much stronger protection in the DM zone
  • Better control of central areas against top opposition
It worked well in the biggest matches and gives me another powerful option depending on the opponent.

Leaving Millwall in a Strong Position

As promised to Millwall fans, I will leave the save available to continue. And whoever takes over is getting a dream scenario:

  • Fresh Championship champions
  • £57M transfer budget
  • Entire squad sellable to generate even more money
  • Immediate opportunity to build a competitive Premier League side
If I’m being honest, most of the current squad is not Premier League level in my opinion. I would sell almost everyone – maybe only Makengo at left wing-back is worth keeping. But that’s the beauty of it:
a clean slate, huge budget, and endless possibilities.

Final Thoughts

This season with Millwall was pure entertainment.I spended hours just on transfer window to make this happened. Challenges, big wins, crazy moments, and unforgettable matches. It’s exactly why I love Football Manager.

Will I continue with Millwall in season two?
Honestly… I’m not sure.
If someone have ideas let me know 😉

But one thing is certain:
Millwall are champions, the club is set up perfectly for the Premier League, players can be sold, money is there, and the next manager has an incredible opportunity ahead.
For those accusing me of scamming, actually motivates me :D
The save game is there.
Save is public.
Facts are there.
Enjoy it. 🦁🔥

Fantastic!!!
Thanks for taking the time to play with Millwall. Really great result! You know that I'm still trying to save the year with the save I started, and now your tactic is starting to pay off, and I probably won't get fired!
So I'll try to win promotion to the Premier next season!
Of course I'll keep your save, and I'm also glad that all this became the reason for your new tactic [Volcano Fortress 3-4-1-2 (Double DM)].
I think it's worth the effort, and it's a nice experience to fight with small teams!
Keep up the good work to make the Volcano tactic even better!

''No one likes us, no one likes us,
no one likes us, we don't care,
we are Millwall, super Millwall,
we are Millwall, from the Den.''

The last couple of days we've been bleeding goals, conceding from everywhere, I've tried tweaking a few things but ideally I want to change as little as possible really. You think the fortress tweak would solve this or would you suggest a different solution?

We're still scoring well and winning but cant keep a clean sheet anywhere, i dont want my tweaks to disrupt the attacking play

Yes you can use Fortress its should be even better defensively.
I am curious why you concede a lot,I had that problem only when my team(especially defenders)were not good enough.
Send me picture of your squad 😉

In my 3rd season, 1st season in the Championship defence was good (probably because of the lower level of quality), 2nd season defence wasnt great but i just put that down to not having great players in there. This is the squad, spent a good long while trying to improve the defence in particular, focusing on attirbutes rather than reputation.

These are the fixtures this season, they've actually got slightly worse from last season. i still conceded but i managed to get some clean sheets in there. After improving the defence ive only kept 1 clean sheet all season. Starting to wonder if the midfields not physical enough. i have funds to strengthen in the Jan window so might give that a try.

Unfortunately I dont see full names of the players, maybe better to make screenshot in tactic screen,so I can check the players.
By the way I am planing to continue with Millwall in season 2 and I will spend some time rebuilding team for Premier League, lot of work to do,I need to find 20 players able to compete in PL,with 40 M budget 😀
But in instalments its more then enough money to build winning team 😉

Oh oops! My bad sorry I'll do that when I'm home later. I've played the fortress version for about 6 or 7 games now, defence is better and I've signed a more physical midfielder, so hopefully that makes a difference too

Be sure to check the Fortress because I update it yesterday, use V3,because on V2 there was accidentally used progress on the flanks and it should be balanced.
You can find it on page 1
Fortress in general I used only few games,I am not sure how strong it is but it should be better defensive and with more possesion then Volcano 😉

For me Forteress v2 was stronger than el volcano v2... I'll test Forteress v3

True! The only thing is that I really dont like my strikers, wanna get some new ones, got any suggestions? :)
You mean strikers for Atalanta?
It depends who you can get.
There are plenty good examples
I prefer both of them to be all round good,DLF more tehnical and TF more strong and better in air.
Fastest they are better will be impact 😉
