Emulating Diego Simeone's Atletico Madrid

Has anyone come close or attempted in trying to replicate Simeone's Atletico?

seems to be going okayish so far and the pressing looks good etc but I'm struggling with set-pieces, we waste every corner/free kick and defending them also looks like a shambles...

has anyone found a solid routine for set pieces?

once the next patch comes out and hopefully fullbacks are fixed this should be even better

yes they had 1 more shot on target than us but at least 6 shots of theirs on target were from outside of the box.

Considering the problems people are having this year with tactics, this looks very promising. I'm a big fan of Diego Simeone and have briefly tried to replicate his work. What team instructions are you using for this?
 
That's looks really good. This style of tactic i think will be very successful in this years FM (as long as they don't make any drastic changes in the next patch). Everyone would love to play like Barcelona but its very difficult to replicate and leads you to getting frustrated and at the end of the day its the results that count. In terms of this tactic, Ill be curious to see how you get on over the season but don't be surprised if you get many requests to upload this :)

yeah I will upload it once I deem it ready for a release, so far it still has problems though

or leave everything in default?

I see from the instructions that is the defensive mode, do you start all games in defensive? And if you change do the instructions change as well? If so would be interesting to see what the changes are.

Whats the thinking behind narrow width and exploiting the flanks in buildup?

This is an emulation of Diego Simone's tactic and if you watch AM, they are very narrow team but as there most creative players are in the wide positions they play down the wings hence exploit wing play in this tactic. On the other hand, peps Barca played very wide but focused play through the middle to exploit there best players who were in the middle of the park.
 
What are the play instructions mate? and can we see a screenshot of the squad screen showing their goals and assists??
