Hi all, this is my first attempt at a story on here. I’m a keen, silent reader of several stories on here and have been inspired by people like Brendn, xJamieWilliams, SamPeters to name a few to start my own story. I didn’t want to follow the trend so I’ve gone for one with a twist using this awesome database from a lad called Ollie Sinclair, I’m not sure if he has an account on here or not: - http://www.thefmaddicts.com/future-english-football/.

My plan is to manage several clubs and the England U19’s and/or 21’s during this career, develop home grown talent and eventually get the England job with the aim to win the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Will I be successful or not? Let’s wait and see shall we.

If updates are few and far between to start with I do apologise, I have a full time job and an 8-month old daughter (who is teething at the moment) but I’m really looking forward to this so will try and update as much possible.
During this story I will be focusing on English players and talent and aim to make Youth Intake day the most anticipated day of year.
Wish me luck and let me set the scene for you...

Greg **** speaking live from St George Park this afternoon after today’s breaking news:

“English football has been on a downwards slope ever since the turn of the millennium and the English national side hit rock bottom during the 2014 Brazil World Cup when they failed to make it out of the group stages after securing just 1 point.

The FA has had to make drastic changes to make this one time footballing superpower great again.

The answer is to use a carbon copy of what Germany have been doing since 2000 and focus on grass roots and youth development so I have decided to spend a 1 Trillion pounds on new stadiums for every Premier League club bar the clubs with already large stadiums (Arsenal, Manchester United, Newcastle United, West Ham) and also several championship clubs have begun construction and will be completed for the 2016/17 season.

All Premier League and Football League Clubs have had their facilities upgraded and been given state of the art training facilities and all coaches contracted to clubs have been sent on rigorous junior coaching and youth recruitment courses.

Clubs will also be forced into an 8 year transfer embargo starting at the end of the 2014 summer transfer window which will take them beyond the 2022 Qatar World Cup, which the FA Hopes to win, so they clubs can focus on developing England’s brightest stars.

The FA hope that will the construction of many state of the art stadiums in our country that they can soon host a World Cup. England needed a change and this is that change. Time for the Premier League ‘brand’ to take a back seat for once. Our time is now.”

So far every big name in English football is behind ****'s revamp. **** has the backing of Ex-internationals like David Beckham, Gary Lineker, The Neville Brothers to name a few.

Clubs renowned for producing talent like United, Southampton, Arsenal and West Ham have sent experts to several football league clubs to pass down their knowledge. For once everyone is English football seems to be pulling together.

The only opposition **** has faced so far is from Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino, who has refused to work under the transfer embargoes enforced by **** and has immediately resigned from his post as Spurs manager.

Former Portsmouth FC and England midfielder Josh Coles, who is a staunch supporter of ****'s plans, is currently bookies favourite for the job.

BREAKING NEWS:

Tottenham announce former England international Josh Coles as their new manager on an initial one year deal.

View attachment 282866

After recently retiring, Coles has been fast-tracked by the FA, along with a number of ex-pros, to gain the qualifications necessary to manage at the highest level.

Daniel Levy has stated that he is "delighted to have someone of Coles' international pedigree in charge of the club...".

Interview with Coles to follow..

Extract of the press conference with new Tottenham Hotspur manager Josh Coles at Hotspur Way this afternoon...

Tony Evans, The Times: So Josh, you sit here as the new manager of a huge club in Spurs, how do you feel?
Me: Absolutely buzzing. To have the opportunity to manage a club like Spurs in my first job is such a privilege.

Oliver Holt, The Mirror: What made you take the first job that came your way?
Me: It was a no brainer really. Spurs are a huge club, lots of history but have under achieved. I feel I'm the man to take us forward.

Henry Winter, The Daily Telegraph: Are you happy with the current squad? Obviously with the transfer embargo in place you can't strengthen even if you wanted to?
Me: More than happy. We have a young, talented squad. Strong in key areas. A nice blend of home-grown and foreign talent. The transfer embargo is for the good of English football. I'm want us to produce our own players, not have go spending millions abroad to get a player.

Bryan Swanson, Sky Sports: What do you plan to achieve this season?
Me: Champions League qualification. A cup run would nice too.

Jacob Steinberg, The Guardian: You've been very outspoken on your views on the state of the English game since the World Cup and you've backed Mr **** since he proposed his plans, can you tell us why you feel so strongly about this?
Me: Why? Lots of reason. Lets just say the World Cup proved a lot of us very right. This issue hasn't appeared over night. It's down to years or mismanagement. It's time for a change, and we're going to be part of that change here at Tottenham.

On loan:

Overall, I'm very happy with the squad. Got serious talent running through the core of the team. A few good squad players, several star players, a nice mix of home grown talent and foreign flair. I'm also pleased that there is several players who I feel would be ideal as tutors to our young starlets. No need to spend any money even if we could. Really cant wait to get Dele Alli and Tom Carroll back off loan next season and get them integrated into the squad. There is only one player I'm looking to move on, I'm sure you can all guess who he is? If not. wait and see!

Regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in the world, Club and French international captain Hugo joined Spurs on transfer deadline day, 31 August 2012. Will be a stalwart for me until we produce another Hugo through our own academy.

Tall, elegant, solid defender, Jan joined Spurs from Dutch giants Ajax in the summer of 2012. A product of their world famous youth system, one we hope to emulate soon. A ball-playing defender with an eye for goal. An ideal tutor and role model for Eric Dier.

Exciting, skilful attacking midfielder Erik joined us from AS Roma in Italy's Serie A in August, 2013. Versatile as he can play anywhere across the front line, Erik can create something from nothing and will hopefully back chip in with a respectable goal tally.

Danish playmaker Christian enjoyed a fine first season after joining us from Ajax in August 2013. Quick of thought and action, a set piece specialist with an eye for a pass, Christian scored seven goals and claimed eight assists in 23 starts in the Premier League. Christian personifies the modern day number 10. This is sort of player England need to produce.

Academy graduate who made his first team breakthrough at the end of the 2013-14 campaign. The man who is going to fire Tottenham Hotspur and England to glory. A natural goalscorer who can also create. Strong in the air and good with both feet. Oh Harry Kane, he's one of our own...

So only one English player I consider to be a key player at this stage, watch this space though...

Hot(spur) Prospects:

Lots of talent in our youth team, these 3 certainly stand out. One thing I dislike about the new rules is that due to the embargo, we can't loan young players out the football league clubs to gain experience. On the flip side, it makes the reserve and youth leagues **** of lot more competitive and allows football league clubs to blood their own youngsters. Same goes for us too. These 3 will definitely be making their debuts in the near future.

Tactics

Never been one for creating my own tactic, every one I've made myself has bombed completely so I've decided use the brilliant Zen Flow tactic created by ElChe93: http://www.fm-base.co.uk/forum/share-download-fm-15-tactics/277358-zen-flow-4-3-2-1-15-3-a.html.

For those that have't used Zen Flow before, it's a 4-3-2-1 that allows that ramdeuters to control the attack. If I need to tweak during the season due to injuries or it's just not working then I'll let you know.

Pre-season

As everyone knows pre-season is all about fitness, cohesion and maximising tactical familiarity. I took the boys away to a training camp away from London and we got down to the hard work. Along with first team squad, I included the 3 youngsters that I mentioned previously in the thread to give them an experience of being around the first team.

Once the training camp was under, it was time to get some minutes under our belts with some pre-season friendlies.

View attachment 282445

Some brilliant performances from a lot of the lads during pre-season. Ryan Mason, Danny Rose and Christian Eriksen impressed me but the stand out performer was young Harry Kane with 6 goals and 4 assists. Bodes well for the man who will be spear-heading my attack for the foreseeable future.
