Here I am attempting a unique challenge, I want to win a European Champions League trophy with five different English clubs. Once I have won the trophy with my first club I will immediately resign from the post and attempt to take control of another Premier League club before challenging for the Champions League trophy again too.

Now this is my first story on here so any constructive criticism or feedback on how to improve the layout or game would be much appreciated. I am also going to take this challenge one step further, by ensuring that I am not allowed to take over a club who has won the prestigious trophy before. For example teams at the moment who I would be able to take charge of include Manchester City, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, you get the picture.

I will be starting this challenge with who I believe would be the easiest, just to get me started, Manchester City. I have only loaded the English divisions down to League 2, to ensure my game will run fast. I have also downloaded the most recent updates, so Raheem Sterling is at the club etc. (The update at the current time is 14th July 2015 from LFCMarshall).

Introducing the manager, Steve Bennett. I have decided to give myself a bit of a hand here though, I have added my coaching qualifications to Continental Pro Licence and Professional Footballer (National Level) as the past playing experience.

August 2014 Review

View attachment 239744

My first month in charge at Man City went very well, winning all of our games against Sunderland, where Bony scored a hat trick on his debut, followed by a comfortable 2-0 win against West Brom, before beating Liverpool at Anfield in the dying minutes thanks to a last minute header from Jesus Navas from point blank range after a surging run from our new left back. I am very impressed that we have only managed to concede one goal too, that is very pleasing and something I am aiming to do this year, tightening up the defence and making them stronger is key for us if we are going to win the Champions League.

View attachment 239745

The Champions League group draw saw us being drawn against very tough opposition, we should go through but it all depends on our run and who we are going to be playing in the Premier League at that time too. We have been drawn against Bayern Munich, AS Roma & Sparta Praha. I am aiming to finish top if we can get a good result against Roma and Sparta Praha but I am desperate to get that second position at least. We need it, if not to win it this year but to give the experience to the players who have never been involved in Champions League football latter stages.

Thanks mate, thought I would make it a bit more interesting, especially having to win it five times with clubs who have never won the Champions League before!

Very good start mate, layout is very tidy and nice. I'm sure it will only improve as the story goes on :)

Will follow this, i like the idea!

Summer Transfer Window 2014

View attachment 239738

The summer transfer window was a bit of a weird one, I knew I needed a left back so made a signing in Leighton Baines for the left back position for a total of £16.5million, a few may think that is a tad excessive but personally I wanted a player who had the ability of slotting straight into the side, not someone with the potential, so in a couple of years I will have to make a new signing but I am hoping Baines can deliver for us until then.

The other signing I made was a youngster with fantastic potential, Rolando Aarons. During pre-season this year he has been excellent, even showing Sterling up at times, I am extremely pleased we managed to sign this player, even if the price was a bit excessive at £19.5million, but I believe after a few years of first team football he will play a vital role at the club. Both players have also been signed to help with the clubs home-grown crisis.

View attachment 239739

In terms of departures, they were mainly youngsters going out on loan apart from the sale of Gael Clichy to PSG for £5million, the reason for him departing the Etihad is because I honestly believe neither him or Kolarov are good enough for the first team at the club, but after much deliberation I have decided to keep Kolarov as he is a free kick specialist and can offer more than Clichy could.

The other departure was Edin Dzeko to Juventus for £10million. I already have Aguero and Bony to place in the lone striker role, as well as Jovetic if necessary, which is why I have decided to get rid of him, with wages in excess of £100k a week, I felt it was needed to reduce the wages where possible, although I did agree to pay £15k a week until the end of his contract so he would sign for the Turin club.

Cheers mate! Cannot tell you how much inspiration I have got from your story, first thing I check when I come on this site is seeing whether you have updated it haha!

TBH I think 16.5m for Baines is actually a very good piece of business, he will certainly improve the team! Aarons for 19.5m though? that's crazy! I have never seen him amount to much at all on FM? that being said I only ever use the official DB. As an NUFC fan I would like to see him become a great player!

Yeah I was impressed with getting Baines down to that amount. Well my main issue was I needed a left winger and wanted a youngster, had the option between Aarons and Redmond but they wanted over £40m for Redmond which was a definite no. I've had Aarons before on this update and he has become an England international. He has done well so far so I will keep an eye on him. Nice to meet another Toon fan though too! :p

September 2014 Review

A great second month here as well at the Etihad Stadium. We have a 100% record in the league and drew our first Champions League game away to Bayern Munich 1-1, which all in all is a good result for us. Our next game in the Champions League is against Sparta Praha at the Etihad so we should easily beat them there. I am confident after the 1-1 draw to Bayern that we will qualify through to the next stages but we need to make sure our Premier League form does not dip at all and keep the pressure up on the top teams.

View attachment 239400

We managed a fantastic 4-0 win against Arsenal in our first game of the month, it was especially good as ex-Arsenal midfielder Samir Nasri turned on the style and bagged himself a hat trick. The following was a 4-1 win away to West Ham at the Boleyn Ground where Sterling scored his first game for the club, and has since found his scoring boots as he is doing extremely well and managed to get the Young Player of the Month award in the BPL. I gave the second team a run out in the 2-0 win against Coventry and a few of them impressed, I really think Rolando Aarons will go far for Man City as he has such explosive pace it is frightening. Following the Capital One Cup game we had a Premier League home fixture against Norwich which we again completely dominated. Sterling scored two more goals this season before Baines also managed to score his first for the club. A brilliant month for the club, I hope we can keep this form up.

October 2014 Review

View attachment 239398

A good month in October here, but definitely could have been better in Europe. With a 2-1 loss to Roma away from home being the big dampener on a successful campaign so far. Our first game against Sparta Praha went better than expected after a demolishing 6-0 victory against the Czech Republic champions. I was extremely disappointed with our display in Rome as we let a one goal lead slip, Pjanic was exceptional though in capitalising on our errors. Francesco Totti, for being a 38 year old striker, his pace is incredible, destroying Kompany and Mangala easily, that may be one area that I need to improve in, a fast central defender, there is a thought for the future.

View attachment 239397

The Premier League went as well as it could do, only conceding two goals, one against Leicester and the other against Watford. The first BPL game of the month we beat Stoke 4-0 at the Britannia Stadium which was great as the game only came three days after Sparta Praha. That was followed by a 3-1 win against Leicester City where Bony managed another two goals. We faced Watford next where we beat them 3-1 too. They put up a good fight especially after going 1-0 up within 10 minutes, but we fought back and managed to score all three before the half way mark. The month finished with a 4-0 win against Swansea in the Capital One Cup 4th Round, where three players left the field with injuries, albeit only small injuries which I was thankful of, but still annoying. I am extremely pleased with how the season has gone so far.

November 2014 Review

View attachment 239376

November didn’t exactly go to plan. It started off good enough with a 4-0 win against our arch rivals Man United at the Etihad, followed by a 2-0 win against Newcastle United both in the Barclays Premier League. We then lost our first game of the season to Aston Villa, to be fair to them they were challenging us left right and centre, they wouldn’t give us a second on the ball before we were being hounded, and I had rested all my main players for the Champions League fixture. That was a silly decision in the end too. Then to finish the month off in the BPL we beat Everton 1-0 at Goodison Park with non-other than new signing Leighton Baines scoring the winner, that was made to happen.

View attachment 239375

The Champions League was not too bad this month but could have been better, we beat Roma 3-0 at home after Aguero, Sterling and Kompany scored for us. Then the game which we needed to win, against Bayern Munich, we didn’t. Yaya Toure scored a point blank header in the first half and I was hoping we could fight on with Aguero, Toure, Sterling, Nasri and Aarons all picking up injuries in this game. Sebastian Rode scored in the 88th minute from a fairly decent goal, but Fernando made a silly back pass which cost us the game. Now with us sitting in 3rd position in Group B, Roma – 10 points, Bayern – 9 points, Man City – 8 points and Sparta Praha on 0 points. We really need to beat Sparta Praha at their place and we will go through. That will all be covered in December.

December 2014 Review

View attachment 239362

December was an extremely good month for us barring the first 3-2 loss to Spurs at home when Adebayor managed to score the winner in the last few minutes, the month also featured a fantastic 5-1 win over Southampton to lift morale in the squad. Rolando Aarons scored his first Premier League goal against a Swansea side who who demolished 7-0 to cap off a brilliant performance from the whole side, Sergio Aguero also managed to score four goals in that game too.

We then played Hull City in the Capital One Cup Quarter Finals and essentially beat them with our third team, Iheanacho played his first game for the club and opened the scoring in the 27th minute. When we got back to the Barclays Premier League we focused our attentions on Crystal Palace who we just managed to nick the win after being awarded a penalty in the dying minutes which Leighton Baines executed perfectly. We then faced Bournemouth and beat them 5-1 in an exciting game, before facing our biggest challenge yet, Chelsea. Chelsea were on the back foot all of the game, until captain Kompany decided to hack down Hazard in the penalty box with twenty minutes to spare, which Hazard scored to bring the game back to 1-1. We held on for the last twenty minutes but I was extremely disappointed in Kompany as it was a challenge he didn't even really need to make.

View attachment 239309

We managed to finish top of Champions League Group B, which to me was exceptional as Bayern Munich and Roma drew 2-2 in their final game where I beat Sparta Praha 4-0 in Czech Republic, which meant that Bayern Munich are now actually challenging for the Europa League instead. We drew Valencia in the First Knockout Round, which I feel is doable, hopefully we can go far in the competition and mount a challenge this year.

January Transfer Window 2015

View attachment 239289

One transfer in and one transfer out in January and a good transfer at that. I am a bit disappointed that I didn’t manage to sign a backup left back but apart from that I am pretty pleased with the other aspects. I managed to bring in another central midfielder, Jack Wilshere. I am not trying to sign all British players, which is probably what it seems at the moment, but they generally do have the best potential and they are also proven in the Premier League, which is key. Jack had only managed 8 games so far in the Barclays Premier League, due to being put down in the pecking order by Aaron Ramsey and Mikel Arteta, but I know what sort of player he is, he is exactly what we need at this club.

The one outgoing that we had was Aleksandar Kolarov to Valencia for £8million. This transfer has been agreed for some time, he was complaining about not having enough game time, but Baines has been playing exceptionally well and there was no way I was dropping him, it came to an argument with the Serb, and well let’s say, he was transfer listed and offered to clubs for under £10million within the hour, Valencia were the pick of the bunch to go for him. Liverpool also made an offer but I would prefer not to sell him to a club in the same division.

January 2015 Review

View attachment 239286

January started a little poor to be honest, we opened the New Year with a home fixture against Sunderland, which we were expected to win with ease, it was actually a very close call and we were extremely lucky to get the draw, nobody played to their potential and the fixtures looked like they were starting to take their toll. Baines managed to equalise in the 89th minute with a penalty after Aarons opened the scoring. The next game was against QPR in the FA Cup 3rd Round and we had a point to prove, we totally annihilated them 7-0 with them not even having a single shot on target in the whole game. 6 days later we faced West Brom in the Barclays Premier League with another 4-0 victory, 2 goals on either side of half time ensured our title chase, now being 7 points clear at the top of the table with a game in hand.

Next was a 5-2 win against Liverpool at the Etihad, we were actually 5-0 up at one stage before we took the foot off the gas and before Benteke and Emre Can both got a goal each in the last ten minutes.

View attachment 239284

Following the Liverpool game we played Arsenal at home in the Carling One Cup Semi Final 1st Leg, we were very unfortunate to come away with a draw from that one as we completely took control of the game but they fluked two goals, before we played the reverse fixture at the Emirates which finished 3-0 to us. We had the FA Cup 4th Round fixture against Everton which finished 3-0 where Sterling grabbed two fine goals. We really do seem to be finding some form here and I am really impressed with the squad, I just hope that I don’t regret not buying another left back during the transfer window as Leighton Baines is now our only first team left back.

February 2015 Review

View attachment 239280

February was another unbeaten month for this Man City side, starting off with a 5-0 victory over West Ham. Our next fixture in the Barclays Premier League was against Norwich City, I decided to play a weakened side and we still managed to come away with the win, with Demichelis and new signing Jack Wilshere getting on the score sheet. Then unfortunately we drew 2-2 with Stoke after Bojan got the equaliser in the 87th minute of the game, so unlucky for us. Our next game was against Derby County in the FA Cup 5th Round, which we also drew after Thomas Ince scored a penalty in the 86th minute, we did manage to beat them 3-2 in the reverse fixture though after Rolando Aarons put in a Man of the Match performance. Leicester City were our next victims after we beat them with a dominating 5-1 win.

View attachment 239279

We also had our Champions League 1st Knockout Round 1st Leg against Valencia, which we managed to win at the Mestalla in Spain, we now just have the 2nd Leg to play at the Etihad after Sergio Aguero ran Otamendi and Mustafi ragged in the 1st Leg, managing to score both of the goals for us before injuring himself, only for a couple of days thankfully. Hopefully we can push on and get ourselves to the Quarter Final. After our 1st Leg performance I do believe we can get there as we have put ourselves in a very good position, and we just need to finish it off in the 2nd Leg. Hopefully we can avoid some of the tougher teams in the next round and push on and use our momentum to get us the Champions League this year!

March 2015 Review

View attachment 239271

March started off a good month, we beat our greatest rivals 5-4 in the Capital One Cup final, which is my first trophy as Man City manager, hopefully there will be a few more to follow! We then played them again 3 days later and after putting our all into the cup final we ended up losing the game 1-0, which to be honest I am not too concerned about. We then played Hull after the 2nd derby of the month in the FA Cup 6th Round and were cruising before Abel Hernandez scored an equaliser in the 84th minute, which forced a replay. I could start to see cracks within the squad, and I am not looking forward to the rest of the season.

The following Barclays Premier League game was against Newcastle United who we beat 4-0 at the Etihad Stadium, Sergio Aguero was on fire here, scoring all four goals, he really is showing why he is rated so highly in World football. We then faced Hull again in the replay of the 6th round, we were again, simply fantastic, even Steven Jovetic scored a hat trick, and that does not happen very often! He has been extremely poor for me so far this season and will be sold at the end of the campaign. City then also beat Villa comfortably too, although the score line does not quite reflect that, before a poor end to the month with Arsenal beating us 2-1 after Zabaleta gave away a stupid penalty at the end of the first half, we were on the back foot for the rest of the game unfortunately.

View attachment 239269

The 2nd Leg of the Champions League 1st Knockout Round went extremely well, beating Valencia 5-0 at the Etihad Stadium! I was not expecting this, Aguero, Sterling, Nasri and Silva all got on the scoresheet. The game was essentially over after the first 15 minutes. I wish I had never said what I had said at the end of last month’s report though, as we drew Real Madrid in the next round of the Champions League. Something tells me we might not get further than that this year.

End of Season Review
View attachment 239265

Unfortunately I didn't remember to screenshot the Premier League table here so now I will just do an end of season review running through the remaining fixtures I have had and the Premier League table after 38 games. It started off with a 5-0 victory over a very average Toffee's side, they didn't even manage to get a single shot on target during the whole game. We then faced Watford who were fighting for their Premier League status, we also managed a clean sheet in this game, beating them 3-0. Then it was Tottenham, surprisingly the only other team who could challenge us for the title at the time, and we actually managed to beat them with ease too. I was pessimistic in the opening minutes when they took the lead, before we came out all guns blazing in the second half and scored three incredible goals. With such congestion at the end of the season I had to prioritise my team's fitness in how serious the games coming up were, I ended up resting my best players during the FA Cup Semi Final against our main rivals as the best competition we could of won was the Champions League.

We then had five remaining fixtures in the Premier League, we then faced Southampton where we again came away from the Etihad with a victory, with Nasri, Bony and Kompany all getting on the scoresheet. In the following game against Swansea, this was where the title was decided. Raheem Sterling scored an incredible goal in the last 10 minutes which sealed the victory and the Barclays Premier League trophy, a fantastic achievement in my first year at the Etihad Stadium. The final three games I played youngsters left, right and centre to see how they would perform and they achieved this brilliantly.

View attachment 239264

Unfortunately the Champions League trophy was out of our grasp this year. I do believe with the right reinforcement during our transfer window, that we can go further next year, we showed that we can fight with the big players, and I am hopeful we can push on and achieve more next more. Real went two up in ten minutes at the Bernabeu and at that point I knew our chances were over. Aarons did manage to score a goal against Real at the Bernabeu which I am sure will have done his confidence the world of good.

Dominated in the league! Well done on the title win.

Unlucky in the second leg against Real Madrid! Next year though, you'll win it!

Good luck man.

Cheers mate! Just started second season now, I had already played first season which is why it was so quickly done! Signed some excellent players during the transfer window, should be an update shortly!
