Manchester City suffered a third straight defeat in all competitions as they were well beaten by Polish side Lech Poznan in Europa League Group A. City started well but it was hosts Lech who opened the scoring, Dimitrije Injac fizzing in a low strike from distance.
Emmanuel Adebayor's close-range finish pulled the visitors level and David Silva volleyed against the crossbar.
A draw seemed inevitable until Manuel Arboleda inadvertently nodded in and Mateusz Mozdzen rifled a fine third.
Coming off the back of two straight league defeats and reports of unrest in the camp, the result is likely to increase the pressure on big-spending City and boss Roberto Mancini.
It ended the club's six-match unbeaten run in European competition and saw them squander the chance to qualify for the knockout phase with two games to spare.
Mancini's side are now level with Lech on seven points but drop into second place in the table having scored less goals than the Poles.

Steven Gerrard came off the bench to inspire Liverpool a win against Napoli in their Europa League group game. Napoli had taken the lead when Ezequiel Lavezzi raced clear and slotted in.
But Gerrard's introduction breathed new life into the Reds and he beat keeper Morgan De Sanctis to an Andrea Dossena backpass to net an equaliser.
Gerrard then slotted in a penalty after Salvatore Aronica brought down Glen Johnson before the Reds skipper dinked in a third for his hat-trick.

From my Threads OP mate :)

Just got back. Feel so relieved, happy but I know had Gerrard stayed on the bench it would not have been 3-1, we'd have been lucky to get a draw. Crowd was great, Napoli fans made some decent noise although they were pretty hostile. Weren't a good performance, Gerrard came on and changed everything. Konchesky was poor again, Poulsen was unwatchable, Meireles wasn't good enough. Spearing and N'gog were decent but it was a poor overall performance, no penetration whatsoever.

This isen't a critisism just a wondering but how many teams do you want to follow lol.

belenenses is my home town team, obviously i follow them, Porto is the family team, everyone's from there. Leeds and Rangers because i have family there, and Liverpool because my dad cousin live's there and i've been in anfield more then 20 times... and they're better then chelsea, thats the main reason for following them LOOOL ... seriously , you just look mad because we won LOL... calm down kid, the game's only in the weekend ;)

I don't mind you won honestly, i was just wondering mate.

great win.Lavezzi is really everything in the first half, but gerrard change everything!

I have to admit, Gerrard is one of the very few rays of hope still shining for LFC this season. And to think, only a few months ago, some of the fans were pushing to sell him to Real Madrid "while he can still fetch a good transfer fee". The club needs him now, more than ever.

Just got back from the game. I ******* love that man.

Man City goal: No less than City deserve and immediate redemption for Mario Balotelli after that miss moments ago. Pablo Zabaleta's cross from the left is a fine one and Balotelli beats his marker to hook home from eight yards on the volley.

2023: GOALFLASH Man City 1-0 Salzburg (Balotelli)

much Italy team failed to the next stage, what happen?

I think the Europa League is poor in all honesty, My team is in it now (Rangers) however thats the only reason I'll be following, I say bring back the Uefa Cup was much more interesting to follow.
