Newcastle United showed signs of struggling against a Bolton Wanderers side who put up a huge fight against Hutchinson's side. Bolton striker Emanual Villa put the Lancashire side ahead in the 7th minute after the Argentinian got onto the end of a through ball to smash the ball in a Krul's near post. Bolton dominated the whole first half and Newcastle looked like their heart wasnt in it. However, as expected, Newcastle came out a better side in the second half and wasted little time in getting level as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang fizzed the ball acorss the box to find Adam Johnson who tucked away in the 51st minute. The Newcastle topped off a so-far resurgent display by winning it in the 71st minute after Eriksen played Aubameyang to his right who took it foward before unleashing an unstoppable strike for the Gabonese striker to claim his 9th goal of the campaign.

Newcastle comfortably win at Goodison

Newcastle seem to back in control of the title race after a seemingly shakey start for their standards but a win at Everton indicates all is well at Newcastle, for now anyway. The Toon took the lead after just 6 minutes after an impressive run from Danny Welbeck down the right resulted in the England international shifting his weight before sliding the ball past the keeper. The Magpies doubled their lead in the 36th minute after a lovely passing move ended in an Adam Johnson cross being converted by Welbeck to score his 7th of the season. Newcastle took a more defensive out look for the remainder of the game to ensure victory.

Newcastle United have today confirmed that they have struck a deal to bring Crystal Palace's England Under-21 attacker Wilfried Zaha to Tyneside. The Chronicle can exclusively reveal that Newcastle and Palace agreed a fee yesterday evening with the medical and finer details sorted out this morning, it is important to mention that Zaha will not be joining Newcastle until next season as part of the agreement between the two clubs. The fee Newcastle paid for Zaha is undisclosed but if various reports are to be believed then the fee is around the £5.5m-£6m mark. Newcastle have been tracking Zaha for over two years now with Hutchinson rating him as one of the games most exciting youngsters, paying several visits to Selhurst Park over the last
two seasons to see the youngster. Wilfried is 21 years old and has exclusively told The Chronicle, "I'm massively relieved to get this deal sorted and over the line. It's been on and off for the past 2 years now but Palace have now agreed to sell me for the end of the season which I'm grateful for because when a team of Newcastle's quality come calling you don't say no. I'm so excited to get started and pull on a black and white shirt next season but at the same time my only priority and focus for the rest of this season is Crystal Palace and doing my best for them." Zaha has 12 goals in 26 games this season and overall the pacey winger has amassed 29 goals in 152 league appearences for Palace.

Newcastle have also announced the departures of two players this morning. Sergio Asenjo (right) has completed a £4m move to Serie A side Palermo after the Spanish stopper grew increasingly unhappy with lack of first-team action under Hutchinson who signed the 24-year-old ex-Atletico Madrid keeper on a free transfer last season and the player only managed 10 appearences in his 18 months on Tyneside due to the dominance of Tim Krul. Also, Vladimir Weiss (left) has departed to Paris Saint Germain on loan for the rest of the season. Weiss joined Newcastle for £3m in the Summer and has managed 7 first team appearences this season but Newcastle are believed to have been enticed into the idea of loaning Weiss out to the big-money Frenchmen after they included an £8m buy clause in his contract is the winger plays less than 15 games.

Newcastle United know they have to stay on the top of their game this season as the race for the title is still close half way through the season, this spurred them on to a dominating display against Stoke. Newcastle's England International £7m striker Danny Welbeck wasted no time in adding to his tally by netting in the 2nd minute after he timed his run perfectly to recieve a pass from Adam Johnson and slot home. Gylfi Sigurdsson doubled the Toons lead with a corker from outside the are on 28 minutes. Welbeck scored again to add Newcastle's third one minute before the break after staying composed to sink a one-on-one. Newcastle finally got their fourth in the 85th minute and it was Welbeck who secured his hattrick after recieving the ball in the area before turning and sliding it low past the keeper.

Newcastle United confirmed a few days ago that their young Slovakian winger Vladimir Weiss had joined Ligue 1 big-spenders Paris Saint Germain on loan with a view to a permanent transfer worth £8m. However the Tyneside club has came out today and announced that due to personal circumstances, Weiss has been recalled from France and will join Italian Serie A side AS Roma. A source close to the player spoke exclusively to Sky Sports News and told us that Vladimir was under the impression that he was joining PSG on a permanent for £8m, he then discovered this was not the case and instructed Newcastle to arrange a deal for PSG to activate the £8m clause, which they understandably rejected to do, due to the player not yet appearing for the side. The Slovakian international was also displeased at the arranged signing of Wilfried Zaha from Crystal Palace, declaring his Newcastle career was as good as over from then. Weiss immediately put in a transfer request and Newcastly swiftly struck a deal for the player to complete a quickfire move to Roma in a deal that, Sky Sports News believes, is worth £2.5m. Weiss joined The Magpies in the Summer for £3m from Manchester City but managed just 6 starts and 1 sub appearence in his time on Tyneside.

Toon show guts to win point at Arsenal
View attachment 243795Cisse nets late on to complete Toon comebackView attachment 243794
Newcastle United knew they had a task on their hands at the Emirates but despite all the odds, the Toon completed the unlikely. The Magpies experienced a nightmare start after Robin Van Persie netted after just 26 seconds due to poor defending which the Dutch striker capitilised on to hit home. It got worse for Newcastle as Arsenal added a second in the 3rd minute through Marouane Fellaini after the Belgian struck a powerful effort. It managed to get even worse for Newcastle after Arsenal went 3 up in 9 minutes after a well taken Walter Montillo freekick found the top of the net, Newcastle were shellshocked. However they did grab a goal in the 31st minute through Steven Taylor after they won a corner, this seemed to wake the Toon up a bit. Amazingly, Newcastle cut Arsenal's lead even further just 3 minutes later after Pierre Aubameyang's cross found Danny Welbeck who turned and found the net, game on. After an end-to-end second half Newcastle brought on Papiss Demba Cisse hoping to win the point, they managed just that. Cisse recieved the ball and broke free and managed to stay calm to score in the 91st minute to send the Newcastle players, fans and manager wild.

Magpies leave Hoops in tatters
View attachment 244331Gylfi grabs 5th goal of the season to begin routView attachment 244332
Tyler Hutchinson has issued his squad with the simple warning that this season has showed that any points dropped will change the table dramtically game by game, with the Magpies facing a fight to hold onto their title with continuous pressure being put on by other clubs so a win versus QPR was important. Newcastle took the lead in the 26th minute through a Gylfi Sigurdsson strike, the Icelandic midfielder has struggled to emulate the form of his debut season on Tyneside but continues to impress. The Toon grabbed a second through Papiss Demba Cisse as the striker deemed to foul Olssen, but it was not given, and he was through to sink the one-on-one on 58 minutes. Things got worse for QPR 6 minutes later as Grant Hanley scored an own goal to make it 3-0, the Hoops were then given a lifeline in the 67th minute as Djibril Cisse ran the ball into the area and struck past Krul. Newcastle wrapped up the win, however, in the 92nd minute through substitute Hatem Ben Arfa after a Sigurdsson shot cannoned off his leg just in front of goal.

Toon pick up vital win over City

View attachment 244365Cisse continues impressive goalscoring formView attachment 244364
This could potentially be one of Newcastle's most important games of the season in their hunt for Premier League glory as Manchester City are always going to be contenders. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang got Newcastle off to a flyer in the 13th minute after Cheik M'Bengue knocked in a cross to the far post which the Gabonese striker leaped on to. City equalised 13 minutes later after Sergio Aguero scored an absolute corker from outside the box to level things up. Ex-City winger Adam Johnson put Newcastle ahead once more in the 62nd minute after Aubameyang ran through one-on-one before squaring it to Johnson to stick it in the empty net, the Geordie winger controversially looked up to the City fans and kissed his Newcastle badge. The points were secured 5 minutes from time with Tyneside here Papiss Demba Cisse grabbing the penultimate goal after tapping in from yet another assist from Aubameyang.

Newcastle United might look back on the result today regretting they didnt push on for 3 points as Hutchinson knows it is results like this that will decide the title this campaign with the top 3 still very tight. Througout the first half Blackburn made it clear that they would not sit back and let Newcastle attack them. They displayed some very promising football going forward and always looked assured when they went back to defend. Rovers took the lead in the 57th minute as Ruben Rochina knocked the ball in for Franco Di Santo who met it at the near post and tucked it in at a tight angle. Their lead lasted only two minutes before the Toon equalised through Gylfi Sigurdsson after he struck first time from a pull back, however this did not push Newcastle to get all 3 points.

With Newcastle drawing last time out it was essential that they won today as they faced West Brom at the Sports Direct Arena and they duly delivered, putting on a performance of 'champions'. Newcastle wasted no time in getting attempting to getting back to winning ways as they netted on 5 minutes after a lovely passing move resulted in Adam Johnson cutting the ball back to find Marco Verratti who made sure he would earn his second goal of the season. It was Johnson himself who added the second on 23 minutes after running the ball at pace from deep inside his own half, avoiding any incoming defenders to slot the ball into the near post. Verratti added his second and Newcastle's third on the half-hour mark after recieving the ball and executing a first-time left-footed strike that found the far top corner. Jan Vertonghen wrapped it up with a fourth in the 66th minute after he simply found space from a Sigurdsson corner to punt it in.

Newcastle United continued their mission of getting the biggest wins possible at Craven Cottage this afternoon. Cheick Tiote got Newcastle's scoring underway in the 12th minute after being in the right place at the right time to tap it into an open net. Newcastle went two up just before half time in the 42nd minute after Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was slipped through one-one-one and you wouldnt bet against the Gabonese hitman scoring. Former Toon target Adrian Mariappa scored an own goal in the 62nd minute after a Danny Welbeck cross hit of the English centre-back. Junior Hoilett wrapped up the scoring in the 71st minute after scoring a long range effort that ended up in the corner, it has been an injury-plagued campaign for the winger.
