VERSION: LG FIRE update
TEAM: Everton

DAVIES UNVEILED AS EVERTON MANAGER!

Relatively unknown rookie manager J Davies has been given the role as Everton manager. He has told the board he expects continental qualification via league finish and has been given £34million to spend.

FORMATION

Davies prefers a 4-4-2 formation, with 3 variations depending on what team he is playing-

1. Custom Attacking (when playing teams I should really beat)
2. Custom Normal (when the game is gonna be tight)
3. Custom Defensive (when I'm expecting a pasting)

BACKROOM STAFF

Davies makes wholesale changes on the backroom staff, sacking

Sheedy
McPhillips
Waldron
Hall
Bennet
Lumsden

and bringing in

McClair
Court
Miller
Poynton
Hamilton
Karembeau
Juanvi

FRIENDLIES

5 wins from 6 for the new boss! The only blip being a 1-0 defeat away to Benfica. Total Goals For: 18, Goals Against: 3

PLAYERS IN/ OUT

Davies raises a bit of extra cash by letting a few of his fringe players move on; in most cases, actually touting the players out by "Offering to Clubs":

Hibbert to Blackburn - £3.5m
Osman to Portsmouth - £5.75m
Coleman to Dag & Red - Loan
Anichebe to Reading - Loan
Saha to Stoke - Loan Fee £625k
Jutcieiwcz to Swindon - Loan

Davies replaced these with a lot more substance:

Berg for £10.5m
Srna for £13.75m
Love for £10.5m
Giuliano for £1.7m
Albin for Loan Fee £1.4m

LEAGUE PERFORMANCE SO FAR

Sounds ace. Im not a big fan of LG Fire Update because there is no way Everton have 35milion to spend! Anyway whatever you do keep jagielka,Lescott,Arteta,Cahill and Fellani

I know, £35m is a tad unrealistic..! Having said that, any other club in England who had finished 5th twice in consecutive seasons would have around that mark- especially couple with the fact that we raised £5m on McFadden and £8.5m on AJ last year.

As for keeping the mentioned players- I'm trying my best but dammit! AC Milan keep praising Jags, Real Madrid bid £9m for Cahill (which I rejected) and Atletico's noses are firmly up Arteta's backside. Still, they're all under contract so are staying put :)

Back to the game...

EVERTON LOSE HOWARD FOR 2 MONTHS

Davies will have to turn to substitute GK Iain Turner. Only time will tell how well he does over the coming weeks.

(NB Chelsea always try and sign Turner on my games, but my coaches only ever rate him as a decent/ good prospect- finally I'll be able to tell if he's actually any good!)

Ye its not a big shock that the big teams are tyring to steal the smaller teams players, just hold on and im sure you will do well

I'm having similar difficulties in my Everton game all the usual suspects are being prasied by every tom **** and arsehole and Man City have a penchant for stealing my properous players :P however... just thought i'd say that i bought Albin and V Love and Karembeau in my game before noticing you have too, fair play

Everton are known fortheir tight finances, so to have that much is ridiculous...and anyway they used the transfer money from AJ and Fads to pay the heavy wages and for Fellaini...

similar happened on my everton game, i ended up selling arteta for 20million, and i rejected 18.5mil for cahill from manchester utd, and 15mil for jagielka from real madrid and barcelona.........as for ashley young dont even get me started, he gets praised and praised and praised....getting very annoying but it says he is enjoyin life at the club, and he aint going nowhere.
I am currently 5th in the premier league, but i have 2 games in hand due to my european campaign which has got me 2-1 up in quarter-finals of europa league.
I raised extra funds by selling hibbert, osman, saha and lots of minor players. Here is a screenshit of my team :D

i would say if i had to choose then this would be my preferred team to field, hard to choose between Adler and Asenjo in goal

So how do you two (the other Everton teams) rate your right backs? Julien Faubert any good? It's always been a bit of a problem position on my FM games (and for the Blues in real life!)

I know people will start saying 'buy Srna or Santon' but I always find Srna isn't good enough defensively and similar problems with Santon couple with the fact that he's really young.

I've got Cesar Azpilicueta, paid way too much for him but i was at the end of my tether in trying to sign a good quality right back that would want to play for Everton. Paid a whopping £28.5million, part of me regrets it but the board gave me £50mill in my 2nd season and i desperately needed one. he is now worth £15,000,000. Good thing is he's only 20 years old. He's played 35, Avg Rating 6.89, 1 assist, 2 MoM. I'd like to see more for my money, and should probably have just settled with making Hibbert a 1st team player. Nevertheless, he has been reliable.

I dunno about you but I've found finding good quality full backs to be a real problem in the game

Azpilicueta just scored as well :P:D

£28.5m?!?! Wow that's quite a fair bit..!

Srna is doing ok for me at the moment, but I'm thinking of developing Gosling (because of his awesome potential) as a right back and pushing Srna up to MR. Then move Arteta into the middle. Thing is, Arteta has been immense on the right recently- 8 goals in 5 games!

By the way, here is my current team and results:

And the League Table...

Chelsea are immense. They signed Ashley Young and he has been incredible for them.

Nice dude, just downloaded LG Fire's update, I agree with the majority that the 34m transfer budget is bit high, even if they finished 5th two seasons in a row, they have always been known for there tight finances, but hey, whatever floats ya boat I guess lol. I'm gonna start up with Everton in the hope that I can break into the top four in the first season :) GL with your game btw
Also, when you get some more cash, try and replace Pienaar (Unless he has been updated as I haven't seen it yet) :)

I am using Chris' new update, although i have changed the transfer budget to £25 million as thats around what Everton have to spend this season, well judging on the players we've bid for anyway, i also selected to the board that i will finish in a european cup spot
