And people wonder why does he boycott interviews

Fergie knows the rules by now, he can only blame himself.

You're on the verge of a 19th title and SAF is still complaining about it? It's finished ffs.

3 games ruined against Chelsea this season? And what decisions did Chelsea get at Old Trafford?

Joss, hes not getting charged for what he said, but when he said it. That's the rule he broke. The comments are harmless, even positive, but you cant talk about a ref 2 days before the game.

Bizarre from the FA though, if you are unlikely to ban him, why bother?

If there is a rule about this, then SAF should really have followed it tbh. But on the flipside, it wasn't really criticising Webb, the main point was a similar thing that everyone else thinks, he is acknowledging he is the best ref for the match-and best in prem. Thats why he went to the World Cup. But it does seem to feel like they're scrutinising every single world for any sort of negative comment. It may seem harsh a rule, but there you go. The FA must be obeyed. Even if it seems some of the rules originated from the ****** Third Reich lol.

Fergie never learns, and has openly criticized referees a lot, but this is a pretty stupid charge. Barcelona would never get charged with this, I reckon. And that's coming from a Liverpool fan.

Although i believe this fine is a tad stupid Fergie had got away with murder with the FA until recently.

good find, I would place a wager on 'Arry not getting charged though.

'Arry would place a wager on 'Arry not getting charged. Loves a bet that man. Dodgy git.

Journalists ask managers a question - managers answer question - managers charged. Time to stop talking to the press. Without the coverage and sponsorships the FA would soon sweat. Absolute joke. Absolute clowns.

Ancelotti also made comments before the same match. Seems like the FA are just coming down hard on Ferguson because he's a repeat offender and his comments were very blatant.

And FA should follow the rules before punishing anyone.

Just found this in the FA Handbook:

A Charge shall be issued within the period of three working days of the incident, or within three working days of any media comments being brought to the attention of The
Association, or where observations on media comments are requested from a Participant, within three working days from the deadline for the provision of those observations to The Association, ending at 4pm on the third working day. (i.e. for a Saturday/Sunday game, a Charge shall ordinarily be issued prior to 4pm on the Wednesday).

Sir Alex warned after Webb comments

Sir Alex will not face a ban but has been "warned as to his future conduct" by the Football Association following comments made about referee Howard Webb on 6 May 2011
Despite praising Webb at his pre-match press conference, the boss was charged with improper conduct by the FA last Friday. The FA's Respect campaign requests managers do not speak about match officials - in a positive or negative light - prior to fixtures.

A Regulatory Commission has today warned the Reds manager over his future conduct, with the commission's chairman saying: "This rule was brought in at the start of the 2009/10 season and was reiterated formally to all clubs again on 21 October 2010.

"This is a clear breach of the rule and it is the first time such a matter has been placed in front of a Commission. As a result of this charge The Commission were aware of other occasions where pre-match comments were made by other managers.

"In this case, it was considered to be a minor breach, but a breach nevertheless, and it should be taken as a warning to all managers in the future that any such breach, even positive comments, are likely to result in a charge by the FA."

Hope Media just STFU and ask some other questions rather than about refs and controversial ones..

For all those who still believe the FA are completely biased towards Manchester United...

Carlo Ancelotti has today been WARNDED about his comments about referee Howard Webb before the clash between Manchester United and Chelsea at Old Trafford a few weeks ago.

So I ask, what's the difference? Why does Fergie get charged for praising the appoitment of Mr Webb and Carlo only gets warned for saying pretty much the same?

Obviously the bias towards Manchester United shown by the FA is clear for us all to see again.

Complete joke.

Apparently, Fergie got only warning as many managers have done the same and FA are so dumb not to know that..

Yeah I know there were no aditional charges given to Fergie but he was charged with what ever the FA came out with at the beginning and Carlo only gets a warning, slighty unjust to be fair.
