I see better goals than that week in week out on tvgolo, I was just hoping someone would refute it and post their favourite.

Though Messi is beyond doubt the best player in the world, he hasn't actually won anything this year except for the Spanish title. Would rather have seen it going to Xavi, Iniesta (spanish title and WC) or Sneijder (treble + WC-final). While 58 goals in 53 matches is absolutely mind blowing impressive, it means nothing when you can't lift the cup in the end (besides him winning the next couple of years is going to be very boring).

Peyroteo ended his carreer at 31 years of age, much earlier than Pelé.

Its not completely off-topic. This topic concerns Fifa awards. Now, a player like Peyroteo0s average should be honored, but hey, that's one man's opinion.
