Team Name: S.S Lazio
Founded: 1900
Stadium: Stadio Olimpico
Capacity: 72689 All-Seater
Media Prediction: 11th

S.S Lazio are a team that have enjoyed success in their history, having been crowned Italian Champions twice, winning the Coppa Italia five time, Supercoppa Italiana twice, and the UEFA Cup winners cup and UEFA super cup once. Now though, the club are burdened with huge debts. The board need a manager that can not only ease their debts, but bring back the former success to their club. After Edoardo Reja decided to step down from his role of manager, Lazio chairman Claudio Lotito, decided to hire me, Jordan Rollinson as their new manager. I know that this will be a massive task to complete, but I believe I can bring back the success, and money, that this club so desperately needs.

Key Players

Mauro Zarate

MauroZrateProfile_Attributes.png

Mauro Zarate is my key main I will be relying on this season to grab my team goals. The 23 year old Argentinian striker possesses a good amount of pace and technique, and I will be looking for him to use these attributes to beat his marker. Zarate joined Lazio on loan in 2008/09 season before signing permanently one season later. Zarate has so far played 68 games for Lazio and has scored 16 goals.

Hernanes

HernanesProfile_Attributes.png

Hernanes is my central midfielder and free kick specialist. The Brazilian midfielder is a determined player who will always battle for the ball. Once Hernanes has the ball at his feet, he possesses the ability to pick out passes and brings his team mates into play. I will be relying on Hernanes to create chances for Zarate to finish. Hernanes has just joined Lazio from Sao Paulo for £7.75 million.

Andre Dias

AndrDiasProfile_Attributes.png

Dias is my hard tackling centre back. Dias has all the qualities you would expect from a good centre back, great tackling and marking. I will be looking for Dias to take control of the defence, keeping them all disciplined and organised. Dias joined Lazio in 2009 for £2.2 Million, also from Sao Paulo

Tactics

SSLazioLazio_Tactics.png

As a manager, I like to think up inventive and unusual tactics. I will though, look to fit my tactics around my players, rather than the players to the tactic. After assessing my team, I decided to make a 3-6-1 tactic (or it could be classed at 5-4-1.) I will have a chance to fully test my tactic over the pre-season period, and I will also experiment with other tactics. Tactics are obviously a very important part of winning a football match, and my job is to strive to create a winning one. This may take time, but I am confident I will be able to find a winning formula for Lazio and take them back to the top.

Pre-season and Tactics

Our pre-season fixtures contained matches against some lower level team around Europe. I got to visit many new countries such as Germany and Belgium. As the teams we were facing were of a much lower standard of mine, I was able to experiment with different players and tactics. After a few tweaks, I decided to stick with my 3-6-1 tactic. My tactics will encourage my players to play a patient passing game, waiting for the right opportunity to play a killer ball and score a goal. I will also look for the wing backs to be pushing forward whenever possible and provide crosses into the box.

Our team is now fully ready for the season ahead, and everyone is raring to go for our first fixture against Genoa. We will be travelling to Luigi Ferraris, Genoa's stadium. The odds on this match are in favour of Genoa, but I believe we can still come away with a win.

10 Man Lazio Earn Draw against Genoa

My first ever competitive match was slightly soured today by Stefan Radu who got himself sent off. He lost his head and needlessly elbowed Criscito in the face. I have spoken with Radu, and he has promised to improve his conduct. It was also disappointing that we conceded a very late goal. We got off to a good start though, with Matuzalem scoring a screamer from 35 yards out. Radu got sent off just 3 minutes after the goal, so I had to go to a more defensive tactic. We held of well, keeping Genoa out, but we were unable to hold them right at the end.

Lazio: 7-4 Draw: 11-5 A.C Milan: 5-4

Today is the second game as a manger and it is going to be a tough match. I will be favouring a slightly more defensive approach to the match today to try and deal with players such ah Ronaldinho and Ibrahimovic. It is going to be hard to deal with such great players, but I feel that we will be able to hold on to a draw against Milan

Lazio Earn Good Win Against A.C Milan

Today came my first competitive win as a manager. And what a team to get my first win against. The great A.C Milan. Bresciano grabbed the first goal of the game just before half time. Floccari then grabbed a goal after 57 minutes. Not all was good today though, Zarate had to come off because he had damaged his elbow after landing heavily on it. The injury could keep him out for up to 3 weeks. Still, Im glad to record my first win, and I will hope to get my second win in our next game, although it is another tough game against Juventus. They are another team that has to good talent, and we will have to be on our guard to keep them at bay

Today was going to be another tough match. The odds were slightly in favour of Juventus, as they have some quality players such as Iaquinta, Chiellini and of course, the amazing Buffon in goal. Hopefully my team will produce another good performance, both attacking and defensive, and get some more valuable point recorded on the league table.

Lazio Earn Point Against Juventus

Another day, another point. Today we earn a good 2-2 draw against Juventus, although I am slightly disappointed that we let a 2 goal lead slip. Floccari opened the scoring after some good passing play from my team, cutting through the Juventus defence, leaving Floccari to slot past the goalkeeper. Strendardo then added another with a calm finish. Bonucci then got a goal back for Juventus, and the Melo then beat Dias in the air and headed past Muslera on the stroke of half time. Both teams kept pushing for a win in the second half, but the game ended up as a draw. Still, we are now unbeaten in 3 games, and we are now looking forward to our next game against Catania.

Today is our first match against "lesser" opponents, and the odds are slightly in our favour. We will be looking to gain a solid win over Catania, but we will have to still make sure we are tight defensively and not concede any goals. With Zarate still out, im hoping Floccari will be able to grab the team some goals.

Catania Earn Draw Against Lazio

I was slightly disappointed against today because we let another 2 goal lead slip. I will have to take a look at my tactics again, and maybe make some more tweaks whilst we have a lead. We did get off to a good start though, with Bresciano scoring a fantastic 25 yard effort after just 4 minutes. Bresciano then topped that goal on 41 minutes after scoring an even better goal from 35 yards out. Bresciano has been working on his long range shooting in training and it seems to be working wonders on the pitch, and I hope he keeps it up. The second half though, Catania came back into the game after a well worked goal from Ricchiuti. He then went on to equalise the scores, and the match finished a draw. We have a game against Cheivo next week, so im hoping we will get back to winning ways against them

Today we are against another team that I expect to get a result against. Cheivo are doing very well right now though, and are currently unbeaten, winning 3 of their 4 Serie A game. We will once again need to be at the top of our game to beat them. I will be hoping Floccari will be able to grab a few more goals again. Zarate will soon be back at full fitness, so I will now face a hard decision of who to play first.

Chievo Earn Draw Against Lazio

Today we got another draw, even though I would have preferred to get a win over Chievo. I am still pleased though that we are now unbeaten in 5 games. Matuzalem grabbed a good goal today, the whole ream had a part to play today, with lots of one touch passes, we unlocked the Chievo defence. Chievo then equalised after some sloppy defending from us. The second half we pushed hard to get a winner, and we went really close and missed put a few inches. Next up we have a game against Parma, who are underachieving this season, so I hope we will be able to beat them while they are down

Today we have a game against Parma. Zarate is now back from his injury, and I will probably give him a 45 minute run out today. I have tweaked my tactics a little more, to leave some more attacking options, so we can grab a few more goals. I am confident that will will be able to grab an overdue win today, and I think that we will be able to grab a few goals too

Lazio Record Good Win Over Parma

As I predicted, we grabbed a good win over Parma. We went attacking from starting whistle and got our first goal after just 56 seconds. Garrido played a good ball to Bresciano who shot from 25 yards and the ball sailed past the Parma keeper. Bresciano then doubled his tally after 22 minutes with another excellent long range shot. We carried on attacking after the break, but we were unable to add to our tally.

Another game that we should win today. Zarate is now fully fit and ready to start, while Floccari is out with a sports hernia that will keep him out for about 4 weeks. Im hoping Zarate will be able to perform at the best of his ability as he has just come back from an injury. I am also relying on Bresciano to grab a goal. Bresciano has scored some fantastic goals this season and im hoping he adds to his tally

Lazio Slip To Their First Defeat

Now I know what it is like to lose. It not a very nice feeling, knowing that I was unable to get my players firing. Now I know what its like, Im hoping to experience it much in my career. I think my Kit man forgot to bring my teams shooting boots, because we only had 8 shots, and none of them were on target! We will need to improve on our shooting before our next match if we want to get back to winning ways. Our next match is against Cesena, who are having a awful time in Serie A this year and are sitting rock bottom of the table. This will hopefully be another game that we can win comfortably

Today we are up against last placed Cesena. They have lost 5 of their 6 games, and draw the other. I have had the team working hard on shooting in training over that last week to try and improve our finishing. I am hoping that Zarate will get a goal today. He hasnt scored yet this season, and I think a goal will do good for his confidence, and hopefully that will spur him on to get even more goals

Lazio Improve To Beat Cesena

All that shooting practice in training has paid off today, as we managed to win our game 2-0. We managed to get 8 of our 12 shots on target, which is much better than our last game. Bresciano again scored two absolutely fantastic long range efforts, which now brings his total 7 goals in 8 games. The Australian in great form and im hoping that he will keep it up over the coming games. Our next game sees us up against Serie B side Crotone in the Italian cup 3rd round qualifying game.

Lazio:1-4 Draw:N/A Crotone: 9-1

We are obviously huge favourites for this match, and Crotone are 36 league positions below us. I will be fielding my strongest team avaliable, as winning cup games is a good source of income, and every penny counts in helping this club survive. We will have to guard against complacency though, because if we fall into that trap, then Crotone could pounce on us and cause a big upset in the competition

---------- Post added at 02:26 AM ---------- Previous post was at 02:18 AM ----------

Lazio Rely On Penalties To Beat Crotone

Obviously I am rather disappointed that we only managed to win on penalties today. We should have won by many more goals, but we struggled to break for Crotone. With the match going to penalties, I did get a chance to find out who has the nerve to take penalties, and who is not so good. It also gave me a chance to assess Muslera, to see how good he was at penalty saving. We got through to the next round though, and I guess thats what counts. We have now got a 4th round qualifying game against Genoa.

Today I was called into the board room by Claudio Lotito for a club meeting. He thanked me for the work that I had put into the club, and was very happy with the start we had made to the season. He also had some very good news to pass onto me. He said that he was pleased to announce that the clubs finances had improved, and as a result, he has made £4.2 million pounds available on transfers. I thanked Claudio Lotito and left the meeting. It feels good to have some money to spend, although I will probably save the money for future transfers, as I feel we do not need to bring in any players at this moment in time

Another game where we are favourites to win, and I am hoping that I will be able to guide my team to victory. I am getting slightly worried about Zarate, as he still hasnt scored a goal yet this season. I will have to get him training on his finishing and composure, as I am going to need him to start scoring if I want to stand any chance of finishing in the top half of the table

Lazio Bag Another Win

Another win today, which I am very pleased about, which brings my total to 5 wins in 10. We started of strongly today, and started attacking from the off. Our pressure soon paid of after 25 minutes, after Hernanes scored a cracking curling shot from 30 yards out. Bresciano then found himself in space to slot past the Bologna keeper. Di Vaio then got a goal back, to make the end of the game slightly nervy, but we managed to hang on for another win.

Lazio: 13-8 Draw: 2-1 Roma: 6-4

This is one of two of the biggest games of the season in the Lazio supporters eyes. Today we play against A.S Roma, the team who we share our stadium with. This game is obviously important to our supporters and we will do our best to get a win for them. We wont have an easy ride though, as Roma have some truly quality players. Players like Mexes, De Rossi and Vucinic. The odds are in favour of Roma, but once again we will be looking to cause an upset and grab a much needed win over our biggest rivals.

really nice stuff here mate and going well with lazio. gl against roma!

Roma Win Against Rivals Lazio

Unfortunatly, Roma managed to get all 3 points today with a 2-0 win. I feel that we may have been slightly unlucky not to come away with at least a draw today. Zarate had 2 very good one on one chances, but Julio Sergio managed to keep our both of his shots. Roma won a debatable penalty just before half time, and Pizarro stepped up confidently and put that ball in the net. Roma then came out much stronger in the second half and we were unable to cope with their pressure. Vucinic grabbed another goal after 61 minutes, and Roma finished the game comfortably. We now have a hard run of fixtures, with games against Sampdoria and Inter Milan.

Today we are again the underdogs for this match, but we will be looking to grab another win. I am hoping that the players will be able to put the disappointing defeat to Roma behind them, and come out strong with a good performance. Sampdoria have have some good players, like Cassano and Palombo. They also have Andrea Poli, an extremely promising young Italian defensive midfielder. We will have to be on our guard as this young player could turn out a great performance

Sampdoria Triump Over Lazio

Today we were on the end of another loss, and things aren't going to get any easier in the next match as we are up against Inter Milan. Sampdoria started on the front foot, and set up many attacks, and almost grabbed a goal after just 10 minutes. Sampdoria then took the lead just 12 minutes later after Dias put the ball in his own net. Sampdoria continued to dominate the game through the second half, and got another goal in the 78th minute. Im not getting my hopes up too high for our next match, but after that, we are playing Lecce, so I am hoping we will get back to winning ways then

Lazio: 9-2 Draw: 13-5 Inter: 1-2

Today we have probably the hardest game on our calender. The Italian and European champions are coming to town. It will be very tough to get a win today, so I will be looking to get a draw against the champions. I will make sure that everyone is tight defensively to try and stop Inter from getting through. Inter obviously have quality players in their side, such as Milito, Sneijder and Eto'o. We will defiantly need to keep Sneijder closely marked, to try and stop and service coming into the strikers.

Lazio Earn Hard Fought Draw Against Champions

Today we got a 1-1 draw against Inter, but I am a little bit disappointed, because we let a 1-0 lead slip in the 4th minute of injury time. We took the lead against the run of play after some excellent one touch passing lead to Matuzalem being in some space to finish past Julio Cesar. Inter continued to pile on the pressure, but we stood strong, right until the last minute, when Inter were awarded a debatable freekick. Milito then rose up above Dias to meet the incoming ball from the freekick and nodded home past our keeper. Even though the last minute equaliser was a slight kick in the teeth, we have a result to take into our next match against Lecce, a match that I fully expect us to win
