Group B

Match 1
Scotland 3-3 Portugal
View attachment 296680
What a game. After taking the lead from Nani just after the break we found ourselves 2-1 down at the break. It got even worse when a 2nd goal from Matt Phillips put us 3-1 down. The comeback began with us putting Oliveira up top with Ronaldo & the got a goal each to give us a share of the points. As long as we beat Uruguay i'll be happy with this result.

Uruguay thrash South Korea giving them a boost in goal difference too.

Match 2
Portugal 4-2 Uruguay
View attachment 296678
What a game this was! we spent most of the 1st half behind our South American rivals but a stirring team talk saw them come out all guns blazing and with 3 goals in 14 minutes we suddenly found ourselves 4-2 ahead and thats how it finished.

Scotland go the win as expected to join us on 4 points. Now if they can avoid defeat against Uruguay they will be in the last 16 while we need to equal or better there result.

Match 3
South Korea 2-2 Portugal
View attachment 296676
One of my most dominating performance with Portugal but by some miracle this got away from us. Was playing the back up team and were 2-0 up when Daniel Carrico decided to end his playing career under me by getting sent off and giving away a penalty that brought Korea back into the game. Korea had 2 a 3rd effort on target that also went in during the final 4 minutes for the most undeserving point you'll ever see.

That 86th minute goal dropped us to 2nd place as Uruguay thrashed Scotland 4-0 to win the group.

Last 16

Despite only getting 2nd in the group we draw Mexico in the last 16. The biggest shock of the group phase was Spain loosing out to Columbia in group H

World Cup Knock Out Phase

Last 16
Portugal 6-0 Mexico
View attachment 296640
Ronaldo took some huge steps towards winning the golden boot with 5 of our 6 goals as we destroyed our Mexican rivals to reach the quarter finals in one of our poorer Cup performances.

Germany knocked out Brazil on penaltys & Italy beat Holland in the other battle of super powers.

Quarter Finals
Portugal 4-1 Belgium
View attachment 296638
Two goals and an assist this time for the man of the hour Cristiano Ronaldo led us to the Semi Finals. We had to come from behind and after fighting back to lead 3-1 Belgium unleashed a barrage of offence which we finally managed to counter at the death to get the 4th goal to make sure of the result.

The Semi finals will see Ronaldo Vs Messi & England Vs Germany
View attachment 296637

Semi Finals
Portugal 2-1 Argentina
View attachment 296636
We went in as 4/1 underdogs against the dominant Argentine side who took a deserved lead just after the half hour through Carlos Tevez. We shifted a few players around and Ronaldo instantly got us back in the game. A second goal just after the break turned out to be the winner securing our place in the final.

Wayne Rooneys 60th England goal wasnt enough to stop the Germans reaching back to back finals and Portugal are all that can stop them from going back to back.
View attachment 296635

World Cup Final
Portugal 3-0 Germany
View attachment 296633
Another shock result as we defeat both of the 2014 finalist to win the world cup quite comfortably. Gotze & Schurrle both had goals chalked off either side of Ronaldo's opening goal. Rafa made it two as the first half came to a close and as we made it to half time 2 goals up i was very confident the game was in the bag. That confidence grew further as Paulo Gomes made it 3 and Khedira's red card with 25 minutes ended the game and despite our efforts we couldnt get Ronaldo the golden boot as he was beaten by his new team mate, more on that later though!!!!

Going out a winner
After winning the world cup i decided to resign from Portugal. For one you cant top winning the world cup and two it was distracting too much time from Man Utd.

Season 5

2018/19

Pre Season
Interesting summer of manager changes as Roberto Martinez gets the England job, Pep Guardiola becomes Spanish manager, Villas-Boas replaces me at Portugal.
Dreams of many! Ronaldo & Messi. Best 2 players of the 21st century, Top 2 scorers in the World cup and now they will join forces at Man Utd.

Targets
Premiership - Win
FA Cup - Win
League Cup - Win
Champions League - Win

We hold all the marbles going into the season so we'll do our best too retain them all

In

Lionel Messi

One big transfer! £100m is much more money than he is worth at this stage in history but i couldnt pass up this once in a life time chance!

5 youth players join up costing a combined £34m! Spanish superstars are not cheep.

Out
3 of our biggest players had to make way to free up the wages for Messi. 32 year old Rooney wanted more 1st team action and was in his final year of the contract. As was Juan Mata so i was delighted to get £40m for him. Di Maria had a year left and the Messi deal was the final nail in his coffin. Chris Smalling was holding back youth development so i let him go while Guy Deckers & Jack Retout were not making the cut.

All Summer Transfer

Liverpool
Some good buisness this summer. After a good year at Spurs scoring 20 goals Rondon moves up to Liverpool for £12m. Barcelona wing back Grimaldo comes in for £10m. The games greatest utility player Daley Blind returns to the Premiership for £17m and very old Mario Mandzukic arrives from Atletico. Most of these moves were funded by the huge sale of Carlos Fierro.

Chelsea
Monaco stirker Anthony Marital. over paid at £37m i'd say. They also paid £26m for top French left back Sam Umtiti. Alvaro Negredo comes back from Valencia on a free. No major players left.

Tottenham

Work was required to get ready for another crack at the Champions League. Loosing there top striker was not the best start and signing a bunch of squad players is a questionable approach to me!

Arsenal
Iraqi wonderkid Humam Taiq comes in and out goes Theo Walcott joins Swansea in a very quiet window.

Man City
Not a single player arrived! Perhaps FFP kicked in or are they missing there shiek's money

Man Utd Team 2018

Jones will struggle to keep Vallejo on the bench as he came on strong last year. Kovacic will replace Mata in the middle while it appears Gotze will have to give up his playing time for Messi.

Community Shield
Liverpool 2-2 Man Utd - Man Utd win 4-3 on Pens
View attachment 296527
We pumped them over 90 minutes but a frantic last 10 minutes saw a goal each and a red card for Vallejo took us to penaltys where Courtinho & Ruben Neves misses handed us back the Community shield

European Super Cup
Dortmund 1-6 Man Utd
View attachment 296526
Our most dominant 1st half in Europe by a mile! Ronaldo's 2nd gave us a 6 goal lead going into a break! as we retain our second title.

I have seen everything now..:D Only if Messi and Ronaldo Could score 50 each now..:D

Week 1

Tottenham 0-5 Man Utd

With Messi still not fit Ronaldo takes the early advantage in the goal scoring race. In other news we demolished the form side of the 2nd half of last season at there ground.

Great starts for Liverpool & Chelsea while Arsenal & Man City draw winnable games.

Man Utd 1-0 Liverpool

Ahh the only thing that beats a good old fashioned derby with horror tackles, injurys & red cards is winning the dang thing in front of a league record 91,797 fans. There was only a Ronaldo goal between the teams as we knock off the side who are starting to become our closest league rivals.

Chelsea are the only other top side who remain perfect winning a tough battle at Stoke. Arsenal put more misery on Man City beating them 3-0. Tottenham suffered back to back losses this time at Hull.

Week 3

Chelsea 1-1 Man Utd
View attachment 295697
As my mega summer signing made his debut in a poor half fit display the man i tried to sign Eden Hazard had Chelsea ahead just after the break. We needed sub Mateo Kovacic to stump up some magic to grab the equalizer. Point gained today.

Newcastle ruin the natural order of the world by being the last team with a perfect record in the league. Arsenal beat hull to join the 7 points party Liverpool kept up tottenhams nightmare start with a round beating. Man City still looking for there 1st win too after a draw with Everton.

Champions League Group B
View attachment 295695
This years competition was by far the weakest i've seen. The Europa League must be stacked! Our group should be a walkover if we win the two games in the middle against Roma

Week 4

Man Utd 8-0 West Ham

Two hattrick and you'll all be expecting goals from Ronaldo & Messi but the second half of that act is Jovic. Messi did have a couple of assists on his debut.

League Cup

A scary 1st half was put to bed when Messi got a goal & an assist with a late Gotze goal to make the final minutes comfortable despite a red card for Tielemans.

A long way from the 2014 game. Then again that United didnt have Ronaldo & Messi up top.

After seeing how well Ronaldo has done for you, I thought I'd see if I could sign him myself

I'm very surprised at how cheap I've managed to get him. £30 million!!! I couldn't believe it.

He's 33 in my game now and only had 13 months left on his Madrid contract so that's probably why he was so cheap. But his attributes still look really good

Might try for Messi as well in the future

Southampton just keep on winning and move tied in 2nd with Arsenal a point clear of Newcastle who drew with struggling Spurs. Chelsea drew again! at West Ham and Liverpool were beaten by Huddersfield and as for Man City oh dear! Further down after suffering there 5th defeat of the season Stoke sack Cesare Prandelli & bringing back Mark Hughes

Man Utd 0-0 Southampton

Arsenal's win at Swansea puts them level with us at the top. Chelsea just hold off Huddersfield. Liverpool & Newcastle draw and Tottenham are thrashed at home by Norwich. Man City's hilarious season goes on with a 1-0 defeat at Cardiff!

Champions League
Roma 1-4 Man Utd
View attachment 295453
Two from Luka Jovic filling in for Ronaldo got 2 and Odegaard in for Messi got 2. Rooney grabbed a goal for Roma showing his old owners a striker who probably would have started for us today with our injury crisis.

Week 9

Blackburn 0-0 Man Utd

4 way tie at the top as Arsenal drew as well while Chelsea & Southampton won. Liverpool beat Norwich to get back in the hunt while Tottenham lost to Southampton continuing there awful start. SPEAKING OF WHICH the Man City circus goes on. Even at home where today they lost to Stoke to end up in the relegation places. 18th position with 1 win from 9 games a record that saw Quique Flores sacked. Will Pochettino be next?

League Cup 4th Round
Man Utd 5-2 Watford

Youngster Joe Mellchar got a hatrick in the first 17 minutes. Odegaard grabbed another two as we waltz into the next stage.
