FM Base FC was formed in 2010, in the central(ish) location of Leicester. Originally formed with 25 founding players, the club went from strength to strength, rising up through the leagues, reaching the Vanarama Conference North in time for the 2014-15 season.

That's where the fun and games started. It all started with a consecutive promotion, as Grimsby were automatically relegated for some fishy accounting. Drawn out of a hat, FM Base took their place.

This would have been fine, had FM Base not just parted with all but 5 of their players. The remaining 5 were Jamie Williams, Lewie Roberts, Ricardo Goyzueta, Matt Harrison and Jari M-Litmanen. Those players that had left had all joined conference teams, expecting to be able to push through the leagues at an even quicker rate. Little did they know their old club could yet be following them.

Thankfully for the club, FM Base have an established youth set up which brings in players from across the world, giving them a chance to play football. This is done in the same way that the original team members originally found their way in the footballing world.

Facilities-wise, the club play at The Base, an 11.5k seater stadium. With a good expansion potential, the club is looking to stay there in the long term.

The chairman at the club is Dean Prescott, having completed a successful takeover on the 1/7/14. His first move was to replace the manager, with God Fish being the elected choice to lead the club on further. In addition, 4 staff members were hired to join the existing structure. Manuel Pablo and Juan Carlos Valeron were both Deportivo legends, and both jumped at the chance to help mentor some of the worlds best upcoming players. Jamie Carragher and Luis Garcia also joined the backroom staff, with both having vital experience of top flight English football.

A 40 year deal worth 800 pounds a week in the conference man I have a good agent

It's a temporary measure to guard against nosy bigger clubs. All the players will go onto normal deals once we get higher up the leagues.

Besides, it isnt all bad, there is a 10% yearly wage rise for everyone as well.

Plenty of competition for that left wing spot, hopefully young CJ proves to be a tad less injury prone here :S

Pre-Season

So overall, we had a good pre-season. What was particularly pleasing was the range of players scoring, and there were contributions across the park. Having a variety of opposition also allowed for testing of all three of our formations for the upcoming season.

Granted, the Kilmarnock defeat is a slight blot on the copy book, but that was a game we should have won, but our striking let us down.

It wasn't all smooth sailing though, as we picked up a couple of injuries on the way. Neither injury is ideal, but we have the players in place to manage such problems. Both should be back before the month is out, and will rejoin the first team after a quick spell in the U21's to regain fitness.

The squad numbers for the season were also announced. No real surprises here, with the numbers not necessarily reflecting how likely the player is to play.

I know, it was an opportune moment to clarify the contracts though.

Dammit injured already! I'd better not be as injury prone as the last one! And poor CJ...

Are you sure? Because a 99% chance of Hallgrimur playing seems about right to me! (H)

Also, I see he has a work rate of 16 - so not much relation to his RL self there, I can tell you... :p

Poor CJ Lippo what has cursed him

Must be the name. All his incarnations seem to be injury-plagued. Well, egotistically this is bad news for the team but good news for Hallgrimur... ;)

Thunderfoot looking a fair bit better with his positioning up now. Looks a very solid right back :)
