When do people think they will play their games?

Am around tonight until about 1am GMT - have sent Disclaimer a PM, but not been online since this morning.

Hopefully he comes online tonight as am pretty busy tomorrow.

Alright no worries, thoughts on the four fixtures so far?

For the most part has been very tight. Znik was impressive, like the look of his squad. Like most, I had Williams in as favourite so Craig has done very well to pinch a point & throw the "group of death" wide open.

Yourself & Yeti was always going to be a close one so a draw was not unexpected & Lewie was probably expected to beat Yiliang, though that was hard fought as well.

All in all a good start & proof that there will be no easy games...

Updated standings, and just to start a convo, given the feedback and positive responses I've gotten, I'm looking for the second edition to take place in December-Jan/Feb, so everyone has time to break in FM16 and then the edition will start. However, because I've received about ten private messages asking to join already from people not in this edition, I'll likely institute qualifying. To explain, qualifying would be open entry and will likely be double elimination knockout or groups of 3 or something like that. I'd anticipate about 30-40 people will register, so that could be very interesting to see. And the way it'll work is that everybody will be given the same team (ie Man City or Barca etc.) and they will play against each other to truly determine the top 16 players (since every squad will be the same). Only once people qualify would there be a draft and groups+knockout. Still trying to work it all out in my head, but based on the support for this series, it would be so cool to have qualifying like that. Imagine like a favorite was to get knocked out by a minnow in qualifying or an unknown becomes an overnight sensation by qualifying with ease to the tournament. Thoughts? Personally I love the idea, what do you guys think though? Would you like something like that?

Sorry to post twice, but I just wanna say that I feel like this will add more meaning, even more pride, and EVEN more competitiveness and also weed out committed ones from those who are less committed. :)

EDIT: And it also gives a chance for everyone to participate in what is becoming a very followed competition :)

Can someone give this man a clap, for thinking of this idea in the 1st place, and always thinking of improving it, potentially it being an FM tradition even, with literally every FM Base member wanting to be a part, all because of this dude, who thought of this idea.

-clap-

#motivation#dedication You guys rock, couldn't do it without you :)

But with qualifying, even if you win the last edition, you could still be knocked out. That's what makes this competition a quest for glory, pride, and vengeance. And all in all, like Lewie said, a potential FM Tradition :)

EDIT: As long as you guys want, if you guys want, I'd be willing to do this thing August-October, December-February, April-June, repeat :) just keep me motivated!

Agreed, it's good to see fierce competition, keeps it interesting. That's the annoying thing about my group though, i've nicked a point from Jamie (somehow), but now i have to face Lippo and Matt, it never ends! I wouldn't be too disappointed with a draw from the next game, but then i'll have to look at how the league is after that, as i'm going to have to try and get a win from somewhere..

Kudos to this man, it's actually such a good idea.

I had to make an FM-Base account yesterday, just to comment and send a PM asking when the next instalment will be, cause I'm itching to play against some of you guys come FM16! (H)(H)

Thanks mate, hopefully you are patient enough to wait until December haha

Gives me enough time to start honing my skills, isn't going to be easy with some of the people who might get through. (If your qualifying idea plans out (H))!

Haha true, and I think there will be qualifying, gotta give a chance to everyone who wants to participate :)

I think the Finalists, or even semi-finalists, from this edition should be given free passage next year should they want to participate. Everyone else has to qualify.

If you go with Semi-finalists you would already have a "top seed" for each group. Just a thought...

Next edition* not next year haha. And true that is a thought, will think about it :) depending on if I make semi's or not JKJKJK but I'll definitely consider that as an option.

Interested to see group B results start coming in. I had it down as the toughest group despite our "group of death" label...

I don't know mate your group is literally 4 strong players :)

Also, I think I'll take you up on the Semi Finalists auto qualify idea, because it will be awesome to assemble seeds for the draw(ie Previous Top 4 = 1 seed, best qual finishers = 2 seed, etc.)

Well I don't think their group is any weaker & they were all in the top half of the draft, so that's where I'm coming from.

Any group were the likes of Brendn, Stonecold or Borne could realistically miss out on a Quarters birth is pretty strong in my eyes.

That's true, and everybody is underestimating Born's team which is quite funny as well :) can't wait for Brendn to play Stonecold though
