The eagerly awaited match between Jamie and Matt in the group of death seemed to have everyone on their toes. After the match had been delayed further than expected the two appeared nervous knowing that a bad result today could really hurt their chances of qualifying.

The game couldn't have got off for a worse start for Waka Waka as David Luiz nodded in a header in the six yard box to put Matt's maestros 1-0 up.

It didn't tke long for Waka Waka to equalise as Ronaldo converted a penalty.

The game went downhill for Matt's side as he conceded 3 more goals, as Ronaldo finished his hat trick and Ribery squeezed one in.

The Maestros however played much better in the second half but struggled with their attacking edge to the game. Dani Alves sent Waka Waka fans flying as he darted into the box to score late on in the game.

With goal difference on their side, Waka Waka only need to draw their next game to guarantee going through.

Thanks to Matt for the game! was very tense at first and luckily my team showed up today!​

Wow, action packed first 10 minutes there!

So if Matt can get a draw out of Craig I'd be through? Come on Matt! :P
 
I have just got in, but unfortunately AW190 must have crashed for the night. Hopefully we can fit the game in tomorrow morning.

Me, you and Jamie could also all be on 5 points at the end of it!

The one positive for me right now is that i'm guaranteed to be through if i win by 2 or more goals (which won't happen, don't worry)

That would be devastating if we all finished on 5 points & someone missed out having not lost a game!

That would be absolutely horrible! It would be incredible to see but devastating for one person involved...
 
@Brendn - I'm in work pal all week... I'm free next week for our match, might be able to do Sunday night... Thou I'll keep you posted.

Yeh sorry guys, tablet hadn't changed the time back so I thought it was 10.30 when I went to sleep... as soon as Nomadic gets on we'll play :)

AW190 Crashes Out

I am actually done with FM!

In the first minute my defence makes 2 (A new record for 90 minutes :/ ) tackles leading me to think it might be an even game, even if Di Maria did kind of f*ck up that attack.
In the second minute they harmlessly lump it long and Varane heads it clear to Marchisio on the edge of the box. No danger right? Well normally not but I had Ter Stegen and FM working together to make it dangerous as a header travelling at about 1mph rolled straight at Ter Stegen. And. He. Left. It. 1-0

It is difficult to see the ball in both SS's - Because it is where Ter Stegen is, going through his legs. He's practically sitting down and it goes through his legs!! My grandma could have saved that with a blindfold on! A feather could have stopped it ffs!

The next 13 minutes passed without incident as we kept tackling (my jaw getting closer and closer to the ground after each tackle) and conceding corners that came to nothing.

It all changed in the 15th minute when my real defence turned up. Another harmless corner swung in. Cue 5 rebounds/attempts to clear it from my defence before Rossi slotted it home... Even I could've cleared that corner quicker than my defence. 2-0

By the 26th minute I realised we were out... that was our first shot - straight at De Gea

10 minutes - and 2 ***** freekicks (one from each team) later - we suddenly remembered we had to score. We moved it forward well and then found some bloke who wanted to go to Real Madrid (and ended up at Spartak Bosco :P ) playing as well as he does IRL. 3 minutes. 3 world-class saves. 3 dents in the wall next to my laptop...

No further incidents of note (except another exceptionally bad freekick by Baines) until HT. 2-0

Of course I couldn't make 11 subs at HT but I did make two who i thought had been exceptionally poor (as in seriously *****). Aboubakar (Who my team seem to think is called Bolt) came on for Martinez (who was being outpaced and outmuscled by a snail) and Veratti (who I don't remember seeing doing anything in the 2nd half) replaced Gundogan (who I don't remember seeing doing anything in the 1st half).

The 2nd half continued as the first left off - Bad freekicks and corners aplenty.

In the 60th minute came the incident that left everyone speechless - both managers, both sets of players (with one notable exception), the supporters, the 4th official, the dugouts, Me and Nomadic, the TV pundits, those guys watching down the pub with a pint of beer in their hands, the pope, David 'I Support West Ham' Cameron, Barack Obama... You name them (except the ref, linesman and Giuseppe Rossi) and they were appalled by the decision.
A neat move ended with a clearly offside Rossi slotting home and everyone else waiting for the offside flag (it took ages for FM to say 3-0 as well....).

These are probably the 3 best shots of the goal, Rossi is the left of the two in the box. Admittedly the 2nd ss does look like he might be onside, but if you look closely it is slightly after the pass when my CB had moved back to prevent the sweaty goal (even though it isn't FIFA... it is more corrupt though).

7 minutes later they score a goal that I can't really have a rant about as a decent cross from the right is turned in by Marchisio. At this point I was more focused on how much i was going to rant in this post than the score.

5 minutes later, Di Maria did something useful and got an assist as he finally managed to get the ball past the first defender from a corner (at the 7th attempt) and Zouma turned it in. Imagine what could have been if he did that the previous 6 times as well....

Rant Over. Me Out.

Summary for those of you too lazy to read it all
Goal 1: Ter Stegen was an accidental pick and he showed why
Goal 2: My defence contains players of top quality, but as a team they have Conference quality at best
Goal 3: #ShouldHaveGoneToSpecsavers
Goal 4: It's the one I can't complain about
Goal 5 (Our one): 7th time lucky for Di Maria

Player Summary:
They. Were. All. ****.
Even. Heskey. Had. A. Shot.

In all seriousness, Nomadic deserved to win - good luck for the rest of the tournament.

AW190 insisted on doing the match report, so he could have a rant and it certainly didn't disappoint!

He had good reason to as I will be the first to admit that 2 of my goals were very lucky - Ter Stegen had a shocker on the 1st goal and the 3rd did look offside! It was a good game that was overshadowed by controversy.

Cheers for the good match AW190, am sure it will be a lot closer when we next meet. Now for a decider between me and Znik to top group C!
 
Perfect! Round 2 is officially over :) Round 3 will start in 1 hour! I'll post previews ASAP!
