FM14 First thoughts... too easy?

How has Honda been for you he has been pretty good for me but not amazing he boost's my merchandising though which easily covered the 1.5 million I paid for him. He has more shirt sales than Cabaye for me :D I got Tomas Necid for 700k he finished my top goal scorer in the first season and I sold him for 7 million and got Morata from Madrid.

Honda has done well - 3 goals and 9 assists in 15 games from CM. Gouffran is the beast in my side along with Sissoko

I dont actually mind Pardew truth be told. I have supported Newcastle since 1989 and he is probably the 3rd best manager we have had in that time.

Mike Ashley has done some terrible things at the club but we are not in any trouble financially so he is doing his job I suppose - its Kinnear that needs to go (along with Obertan, Gosling, Williamson)!!!! Having said that it was rather perplexing seeing the likes of Cardiff, Southampton and Norwich spend over ?20m while we spent ?2m on a loan deal......

Anywho Newcastle get ?8m at the start.

i wouldn't rate Pardew as our 3rd best manager i would put Chris Houghton well before him even Glen Roeder was a better manager than Pardew, but very true about JFK though

Where do you see how many shirts have been sold for each player?

At the end of the season it tells you how many have sold and who has been the most popular. It gives a list of about 5-6 players. when I get home from work I will ss it for you and show you.

it stated off easy now im having a torrid time, imfoot of the table with a very able southampton side playing a 4231 so there nothing easy about this for me

i am at breaking point. i do invest alot of emotion though

I'd say the engine glitches make for unrealistic gameplay at the moment. I'd say that the The release will see the defending issued fixed, and then whatever tactic you use will need to be tweaked, as your exploits may be no longer open. The current build has tactics either being really effective, or disastrous for some. It does seem to be random. I've tried a Conference Histon save, which went well. A Stalybridge Celtic save was a disaster with the same tactic. A Valencia save which was going well, but a couple of defeats saw a tailspin which saw me fired after nine consecutive losses. Morale seems to be too important, and easily lost. Not one game saw a typical mid-table season as you'd expect with a team that is considered to be less than competitive. For instance, a Hearts save, where they have a 15 point deduction for being in administration, saw me win eighteen of the first twenty five league games. The teams is made up of okay youngsters, with one or two potential stars, and three older journeymen. I tried a new save with Hearts again, and this time it was a misery and I was fired after ten league games where I didn't rack up a single win. I used the same formation on both games. Morale seems, like FM13, to be overly dominant.

exact same!

Too easy is better than too difficult, at least i don't find myself getting major ****** constantly.

This is the best FM i've played for years, having alot of fun with it.

Could do with being a touch harder but I'm enjoying playing the game as it is, really liking some of the small things they've added.

All of the people talking about it being too easy haven't tried a save with Albion Rovers, Dorchester, or even Crystal Palace. have a great first season with Crystal palace and get back to me.

I just fecked up my Newcastle save!!! Was at the beginning of February, just beat Man Utd 4-0 to go 4pts clear at the top and was due to play Bristol City at home in the FA Cup quarter finals.........

Signed Simone Pepe on a free transfer on 8th Feb and forgot that I couldnt register him and it ****** me off so I gave up the save. (Not paying a 30y/o 30K a week to do nothing lol)

Anywho I will go someone else now with a bit more of a challenge methinks.

Cant wait til the full release so I can start a story!!!!

Completely agree, mate. Started several games and it seems pretty random when it comes to getting it right. No real sense of my input really doing anything positive or negative in most saves. Roll on the full release

I think its easier than 13, but when the final release comes out, we will expect trouble :D

Im with Benfica and i only had 1 defeat, at the hands of Zenit with 2 penalties... Besides that, all wins, including a away 2-3 against Milan (just draw with Barca IRL).

But this is good. If it was too hard, a lot of us would simply blame it on the bugs and would drop the game.

Btw, Newcastle, in 13, in my United save was a beast, so i don't see why they don't go further in 14, and i've noticed that someone in the forum saw Swansea win the EPL in the 1st season, so why can't you do it with Newcastle?

I saw Swansea win the league :) am also winning the league with ease at the moment with Everton in my first season.

here you go. If it can happen with Everton, what in the world could stop Newcastle from doing it? :P

Me and Everton are the only teams still unbeaten half way through the season, man city are 15th, Liverpool 11th, spurs 7th.

The bit in bold. Answer: Swansea, given the discussion just above.

It was tongue in cheek. Never mind.
