FM14 First thoughts... too easy?

Newcastle are the top of the league on my save too...

Definitely needs balancing a bit there
 
I'm genuinely curious about the difficulty level. I had to quit FM13 because it was just too hard which is a shame because, aside from the difficulty, I loved everything about it. Went back to FM12 which is admittedly a touch too easy if you have a good tactic.

If they've managed to balance that for this version I might just stump up the cash.

I've done two - three saves. Currently top as Man City (But it's expected)
I've had a save as West Ham (my beloved) :p & finished 13th I think it was. The reason I say that's not successful is because I always want to improve on last seasons real life finish (anything less is not enough) ha
 
I think in general they increased the gap between the major and the smaller teams. So most likely if someone says it's easy, they are probably playing with a dominating team. If someone starts out in the lower league they will probably respond the opposite.

Not as bad as what I did on last years game; I bought Rooney for United in like the 6th season or something, had him on 200k a week and went and forgot to register him!
 
Too easy? Maybe. One thing is for sure the realistic transfer targets are way off. Started as Everton, apparently Hulk, Giroud and Gary Cahill to name a few would be interested in joining.
 
I have to agree that I am finding this game far too easy! Just finished my first season with Hull city and finished 6th in the prem! I scored the second most in the league with Shane long betting 28 times! I just hope it is made a bit harder when released as whilst I am enjoying it at the moment, it would definitely get boring being able to turn any club around easily! For me fm13 was far too hard and just got constantly ****** off when playing it ha, so hopefully this one can find a happy middle ground! Love some of the new features though

What tactic are you playing to get your striker 25+ goals? playing as swansea and can't get either michu or bony (both very good ST) above about 10 per season, and those are all trash rebounds/goals off retarded defender mistakes...

Also, anyone have their CBs refuse to challenge for long balls in the air, and just let opposing players bring them down comfortably right in front of them? Really bothering me, since then the CB is out of position (pulled away from goal) and leaves a gaping hole for opposing forwards/midfielders to run clear thru on goal... I'm having a bunch of problems defensively, maybe its my tactics but have tried both a 4-4-2 with 2 defensive CMs and a 4-3-3 with an anchor man/half back, and in both the CBs (ashley williams and james tomkins, both relatively solid decisions/positioning) keep getting pulled way out of position leading to a ton of opposition goals.

You sir are correct, I always do a dorchester save every year it's always tough for me to get them up.
 
What happened to the sliders? I can't play the way I want anymore.
 
Yeah i also agree this game is very easy. Ive been playing FM since FM10 but ive logged quite alot of hours into the series. And this game i think has been the most easy yet. Im a team in the swedish league that got 14points total in a 30 game season IRL this year. And atm game 27 im top of the league by 6points. With the same squad as i started with coz this team dosent have any money at all.. I think its quite boring that theyve made it so easy now. And i dont know how much more ill be playing this version :-/
 
I'm guessing that most of you guys who're saying it's too easy are using tactics off FM-Base, right?
 
My roma save was stressfull still won the league first time round but still #pain
 
All you guys saying it's too easy, what previous experience do you use starting the game out e.g. International footballer, automatic, etc. ? I've been using Sunday league and I'm finding the game more difficult than FM13
