FM17 Initial Thoughts

So, now the beta is out, what are everyone's initial thoughts?

I am personally loving it so far. I think the Social feed is a fantastic idea and add that further immersion in the world. I also really like the highlights package when you scout a player. Also being able to promise potential signings things before contact discussions could potentially be really useful.

The match engine is also really good. Looks very nice, not had any issues with it so far.

Plus 64 bit makes it so much faster!

Itching to try it out so bad because of all the changes mentioned in the video-match engine sounds tasty and the animations look better aswell.

It's annoying as **** for me as I had to blow my all my cash (literally) on upgrading my rig, then next month spend it all again on a GPU.

Glad your having fun though. No really. I am. While the rest of us plebs have to wait.....................

First time in years I've not had the Beta, laptop decides to throw it in at the worst possible time! Pity as I really liked what Ive seen & heard about this years version...

Oh well, guess I'm living vicariously until I get the cash to buy a new one. Bring on the Frustrations & RAAAGGGE! Thread so that I don't feel so bad :P

It's 64 bit now so it runs 10x snappier than it did before. There's literally no lag or delay: a smooth transition. The thing will run on a toaster.

Yeah looking forward to it. Upgraded to an I3 proc and have Windows Pro 64 bit so it'll be silky smooth

I've been able to notch the settings up and load up more league's that last year with much snappier performance. It's honestly more responsive than a spreadsheet. It really hit me at first. It's nice to see it's finally 64 bit.

I personally have a good feeling about this years version - I don't want to comment about the social media thing cause I haven't really been exploring that (I think you can ignore it if you don't want to use it) - however the 64 bit is lovely - it feels really nice and smooth - NO LAG!!! :) - I don't see anything new that can slow down your game in terms of useless tedious tasks you have to do - its still the same as fm16.

The big thing I think I noticed is - their isn't alot of player changes - for instance if Fernandes from Botafogo was good in fm16 he's the same in fm17 :) - I like that!! - Lots of players are the same - I didn't see alot of changes on that front (I don't mind)

The match engine - is still very new to me the goal posts look better in my opinion - the pitch is like 10 thousand times better than what the original pitch was in fm16 - the players feel more aliive - but I'm still lacking dribbling animations - but maybe I have just been unlucky in the 2 matches i've seen so far - offball movements really show - if a player has that one high he will give it to you on the screen :) - beautiful to see.

You guys shall look forward to this edition - I think it will be a blast for most fans!!

Anyone else feeling they've been pretty stingy with some of the players stats? I support City and Liverpool and I've only had a quick look but so far it seems like quite a few of the players have lower stats than I would expect, especially given how some of them have started this season.
 
Enjoying things with Newcastle. After 36 games in the Championship, we're top and have scored 93 goals, whilst conceding a massive 57 times. I'll need to find ways to tighten things at the back.

Glad the new game is awesome. Anyone know of a pack that has the new prem and cup logo's. Also are the other clubs transfers realistic?

At the moment they are realistic, if you ment the money they offer for players and at the time of you buying a player i would say you pay less, if youre scout says the club will ask 1.5M upto 3M i usually pay the 1.6 o 1.7M is not like previous years that you usually would have payed those 3M or more ^^. I've send you a link for the logos, as im not sure i can post other fm sites here.

EDIT: i maybe could eat my words, as at the moment i'm a low reputation team so other teams wont ask for unrealistic prices as i haven't got much money to spend hahaha^^ 90M for Higuain was coz 120M for Pogba.

This year has just some little improvements rather than a big overhaul, which I think was the right way to go. I've been super impressed with the match engine, and the social feed is a nice touch. Very happy overall
 
When you guys say no lag / it's faster, is that going between days or the transition between say clicking on a player and then clicking on a league?

First time I'm not early on FM, don't think I'm ready to let my FM16 save go :'(
 
I'm having a laugh at the face generation, my manager looked like an alien to begin with but I think I've got it sussed now lol.
