Team Settings

Being able to set your team settings from your manager profile is by far the best addition to this years game!

Yeah, it's been great getting Klopp in at one and Guardiola in at the other. :D

Couldn't do it mate, only got time for 1 club, no way I could invest in supporting 2, I 'follow' another club, as in I like to see them do well and always check their result first but never actually support another.

Enjoying things with Newcastle. After 36 games in the Championship, we're top and have scored 93 goals, whilst conceding a massive 57 times. I'll need to find ways to tighten things at the back.

Dwight Gayle's a monster.

What does your Newcastle tactic look like? Having a horrid time with them, sitting 14th after 12 games. Gayle & Richie are trash at the moment. Aarons and Murphy are my saving grace!

When you guys say no lag / it's faster, is that going between days or the transition between say clicking on a player and then clicking on a league?

First time I'm not early on FM, don't think I'm ready to let my FM16 save go :'(

Everything in general. In theory its 2x quicker as its now 64 bit.

For example, I never used to watch highlights from other games as it would take a good 30+ seconds to load, even with one league loaded, 5* speed and an i5, 16GB RAM PC. Now though, with the highlight package on scouted players, I find myself actually wanting to watch them as it literally take 2-3 seconds to load all the highlights.

Having played 22 games so far, some initial thoughts:

Pros:
1) The game is far smoother, it runs very nicely and the presentation is good. This includes when watching highlights and when on the homescreen.

2) The social feed is a nice addition and adds a bit more immersion and makes you take more notice of the fans' opinions.

3) The players are far more intelligent, the decisions they make during the matches are far more realistic.

Cons:
1) Players seem overly aggressive, in 22 games I've had 5 straight reds for two footed lunges which seems excessive, especially considering nothing in my tactics about 'tackling harder' and 'getting stuck in' and the players making these tackles weren't overly aggressive players.
2) Had this problem all of last years game and it seems to have resurfaced - excessive hitting of the woodwork. My team seems to go on average for 2 a game which is quite infuriating.
3) Player valuations/transfer negotiations - When I make a bid for a player valued at £5 million the response is £40 million and then AI teams make bids for my highly valued players at about half their value and won't ever seem to accept paying their market value.

Overall though, I think considering it's a Beta the game is really good. Some issues, as was to be expected but hopefully with the reporting of those bugs on SI they'll be ironed out soon enough. I think this does have the potential to be one of the best versions of the game in recent times though.

Hi sorry if this is the wrong section, but I downloaded the beta last night and it says fm 17 colour are rendering incorrectly how do I solve this?

You will need to flag it up on the Sports Interactive webpage it maybe a bug.

3) It has been a con for many FM's, many years in a row. It's been bugging me for a long time and with every game I hope they fix this but it never feels any different.

Could some one please send me the New metallic Man City logo's Normal, Small, Back left, back right have everyone but that one

also can you NOT have your manager face as a photo or do you have to have a makeshift regen photo?

Agreed.

The transfer discrepancies are pretty much the only issue I have with FM.

A few, very common examples;

-AI offers for one of my players, offer is less than half their market value.
-I offer for AI player, AI demands massively over their market value despite the player being in bad form or not playing regularly.
-I have a decent young player in fantastic form. AI offer less than half his value, which I reject which unsettles the player.
-AI has a decent young player that has not played a game in 2 years. Won't loan him out and won't sell him for less than 20x his £ value
-I have a player that is decent, but I don't need anymore. Offer for free, for loan with no fee or for very cheap. No interest. At all.
-I have an offer for a player rejected, repeatedly. Week or so later, that player signs for an AI team for half what I had rejected.
-I see players move to other clubs for x value. In other saves I make that offer for the same player, rejected and AI demand 4-5 times more in value for the same player.
-Nigh impossible to sign rival players that aren't playing for anything like reasonable money.

Love the game but transfers need some work.

I've chopped and changed the tactics all season, due to conceding a huge amount of goals. Despite winning the Championship and League Cup double, Norwich beat us 6-1, and we lose 4 or 5 goals every other week it seems.

I'll do a tactic thread, but I can't see it being popular due to the heavy goals conceded.

What do you mean mate? What does that do?
An example would be that I like my board to sign coaches, and my assistant to do youth contracts. In the last one whenever you set up a game you had to go into club settings or whatever it was called and designate it. However, now you can set it when you create a manager. It's just something that I used to do a lot so to make it a lot easier was a god send! Hope that makes more sense!

some people on SI forums are saying that crossing is still OP? I havent played at all as last time I had to wait to download it!

Anyway to make the player picture bigger when looking at his profile page?

Yeah, I agree that it has been an issue for quite a few of the recent games and has never been appropriately addressed. It certainly makes trying to maintain a positive cash flow very difficult as you, as the player, are at a clear disadvantage in the transfer market.

If you negotiate well, you get it cheaper than the AI.
