(FM22) - Achieving Everything - Leicester City

Well it's happened!!! We have a takeover, it isn't classed as a tycoon though.

1648752186680.png

So far the budgets have stayed the same, we still have £154m to spend, it says we've raised £182m by floating on the stock exchange but the bank balance has only increased by around £60m. It will be interesting to see what happens moving forward.

Update: All the club debts have been wiped out bar a £66m bank loan which is my the bank balance increased!

BREAKING NEWS

Messi is retiring, I tried to change his mind but he said no, a huge loss going into next season

I missed another achievement

2024 Intake Player Karl Davies had made his international debut for Wales. He's actually made 3 appearances and has also scored a goal.

2026/27 Season - August, Transfers and Champions League Draw

A new season starts and we welcome some new faces to the club. There hasn't been much business but I did need to bring a few new faces in due to players leaving.

We say goodbye to Lionel Messi who has decided to retire and Kasper Schmeichel who retired but stays on as an u18 goalkeeping coach.

1648896507757.png

Only one player has actually left for a fee and that's Conor Gallagher, he joins Man City for £43M, he asked to leave as he hasn't played enough.

3 players join the club, we needed a new winger to replace Messi and a midfielder to replace Gallagher, I also decided to bring in another striker to replace Adeyemi, although it wasn't massively needed I was contemplating going with 2 up top so it gives me more options.

So please welcome....

Stephen Gold - Striker - £62m from Brentford

A massive fee but he looks top quality, only 19 as well so lots of time to improve, for this season though he will be backup to Sesko, that is unless we go 2 up top.

1648896668686.png

Danny Casarin - Central Midfield - £4.9m from Roma

A young midfielder who, at only 18, has plenty of time to grow. He will be a backup this season.

1648896752318.png

Jack Harrison - Winger - £43m from Arsenal

A big outlay but a top quality player. It also helps me fulfil the home grown quota.

1648896757381.png

So 3 quality signings, the squad overall is really good, we just lacked depth in certain areas. Over £100m spent though which about blows all our budget. I have high hopes though that we can win something this season.

Results wise we've had a really tricky start.

It opened with the Community Shield and it was an absolute epic, we played well but defensively we were a shambles and lost the game 4-2. Really frustrating.

1648897092542.png

We then went into the Premier League with a tough looking month but opened with wins away to Southampton and home to Spurs, we then went to away to Man City and blew a 2-0 lead to lose the game 3-2.

1648897135915.png

Overall though I have to be happy, we're still giving the big boys a game even if the results haven't exactly gone our way.

Finally, the Champions League group draw and it looks really good.

1648897190482.png

We beat Athletico in the knockouts last season and should easily beat Brugges and Shakhtar, a group we should be topping.

Should easily qualify from that Group mate! Be disappointing if you don't finish top as well, but qualification is the first step!

Love the signing of Harrison who is definitely a quality player! Strikes me as a signing they'd make in real lfe as well!

2026/27 Season - September to December

The first half of the season is over and personally I think it's gone well so far, I've actually managed to blood some of the youngsters and even if they aren't rated very highly they have all done a good job when called upon!

September

An amazing month, we were absolutely flying, smashing goals in for fun, we were however conceding quite a few, it was good fun to watch though!

1649103387814.png

6 games, 27 goals scored!! An amazing run! We also saw first goals at the club for academy graduate Chris Popov in the win over Blackburn and in the 5-2 League Cup win over Fulham, Ben Nelson, Dale Lamb and Eoin Doyle scored, Nelson is a real-life graduate, Doyle and lamb are both intake players.

October

1649103477866.png

Eventually we start to slip up, 1-0 defeats to Atletico in the Champions league and Man Utd in the Premier League were really poor results but didn't set us back too much. We managed to progress through the League Cup on penalties to Brighton, the young lads doing the business again, we also won 3 of our 4 league games keeping us top of the pile.

November

1649103564696.png

Overall a really good month, wins over Atletico and Brugges in the Champions League mean we qualify for the knockouts with a game to spare, we just need to beat Shakhtar in the final game to end top. The only poor result of the month was the 0-0 against Brighton, we hammered them but couldn't find a way through.

We saw a first club goal for academy star Sammy Braybrooke this month, he scored twice against Burnley, both of them screamers.

December

Games galore!!!

1649104185047.png

A really mixed month, it started with an absolute shocker away to Everton, we were utterly woeful. We came back though with 2 leagues win and a crazy 7-3 win over Shakhtar to qualify top of our Champions League group, we saw a Sammy Braybrooke hat-trick in the game as well!

1649104268410.png

1649104273144.png

Really pleasing but winning the group doesn't guarantee an easy game and we will face PSG in the Last 16!!!

We then went and lost on penalties to Liverpool, poor old Ben Nelson the lad to miss the decisive spot kick.

1649104325858.png

We then had a crazy run of games, every couple of days and really tough ones at that. 4 games, 2 wins, 1 draw and 1 defeat. I'm quite happy with that and as we end the year we sit in 2nd behind Arsenal on goal difference.

1649104414924.png

Just look how tight it is!!!

Finally, I want to go through a few of the kids who have had game time so far and have done pretty well.

Lin Cheng-Yi came through last season intake, I wanted to let him have a little taste of first team football and he has shown he can do it. He played against Atletico in the home game and got a 7.5 and an assist. He also played in the Brighton League Cup game and scored in the shootout.

1649104497280.png

2023 Intake player Dale Lamb has made 7 starts this season, 4 in the Champions League and 3 in the League Cup, he even managed to grab a goal in the 5-2 win over Fulham.

1649104589260.png

Right back and 2022 Intake player Chris Smith has made 10 starts so far, Max Aarons has been injured quite a bit so I've given him more gametime than I expected. He's done really well, getting 5 assists along the way

1649104650048.png

Finally, Sammy Braybrooke! He isn't rated highly at all but when called upon has been solid. He's made 8 starts and 10 sub appearances, he's scored 5 goals, 3 in the Shakhtar game and 2 in the Burnley game, he loves a screamer as well!

1649104800767.png

The futures bright!

Achievement Gained!

Little bit annoying as it doesn't say Leicester on it but Mariano Roca is my player and has been on loan at Valencia for the season. He has won the European Golden Boy!! 22 completed!

1649105275911.png

He'll be getting recalled at the earliest opportunity!

2026/27 Season - January Results and Deadline Day Signings

The Winter window has slammed shut and I've made 2 deadline day signings, both looking towards the future but also adds some depth to the first team squad.

Adrian Tapiero - Attacking Midfield - £10m up front + £30m of addons from Arsenal

Signed to add some depth to my attacking midfield and also a long term replacement for either Odegaard or Maddison. He looks top quality already, although his eyebrows scare the life out of me

1649186663612.png

Maximilian Leonhardt - Central Defence/Right Back - £5m + £9m of addons from RB Leipzig

Signed to add some depth to my rather thin defence. A cheap deal for someone who already looks really good.

1649186669207.png

There was only one out and we say goodbye to Belotti who leaves for £17.75m and joins Nice. A good deal and a decent profit

Results wise the month started really well, a good draw against Man Utd was followed by a win in the FA Cup and 2 wins in the League, both games were crazy and defensively we were a shambles. We then managed to fall apart and lose the final 2 games of the month, really poor, let's hope we can turn it around.

1649186695218.png

Those defeats mean we slip 4 points behind Arsenal at the top.

2026/27 Season - February and March

A very quick update for you all! It's been a manic few months, games coming thick and fast and it's gone ****** well!

Firstly, the FA Cup, the FM gods have been against us with the draws but somehow we have overcome everything thrown as us!

1649271598623.png

Man City, Man Utd and Newcastle dispatched, the Man Utd game especially was incredible, we went to Old Trafford and destroyed them. The Newcastle game we played really well, their keeper was MOTM but we only got past them on penalties.

Next up in the Semis? Liverpool! The tough draws keep on coming!

Now to the Champions league, we had PSG in the Last 16 and my word did we do well!

1649271687287.png

A fantastic 0-0 draw in the away, we actually should have won but as in so many game lately their keeper was incredible. In the home leg though we were amazing, we actually went behind but after that it was as about Benjamin Sesko, a hat-trick on the night and a 3-1 win!

The draw has been kind to us in this though, we will face Porto in the Quarters.

Now to the league, with so many cup games we have only played 4 games and, even though we've had fitness issues and 2 games per week we have still done really well.

1649271817574.png

4 games, 3 wins and even in the West Ham game we were 2-0 up and coasting, Asprilla got sent off and we crumbled.

1649271849257.png

As you can see we've slipped down to 4th place but that's only because we've played less games than anyone else. 4 points behind Arsenal who are top with 2 games in hand. It's going to be a tight end to the season

2026/27 Season - End of Season Review

We only went and did it!! We nicked the Premier League title from under Arsenals noses!!!

1649408964195.png

8 wins from our final 9 games with Arsenal the only defeat, we went into the final 3 games knowing we had to win all of them and hope Arsenal slipped up, well we did what we needed, Arsenal lose to Spurs and drew Chelsea meaning we overtook them right at the death!! We had to better their result in the final match and even though we nearly threw away a 3-0 lead we won the game 3-2 and lifted the Premier league trophy for the 3rd time and the 2nd under my tenure!!! What an ending to the season!

1649409090938.png

Incredible!!!

One big downer in the final few months was our Champions league hopes were ended by Porto in the Quarters. A game I fully expected to win but after only drawing the home leg 2-2 it was clearly going to be tougher than I thought. In the away leg we were really poor, hardly made a chance and they nicked the game 1-0. Really disappointing.

1649409142554.png

Finally, the FA Cup, we faced Liverpool in the semi final and somehow, in one of the worst games ever witness on FM, we won the game 1-0.

1649409247648.png

We then faced Everton in the final and in a game I thought we easily win we played awfully and ended up losing the match.

1649409464428.png

From the highs of winning the league to that. What a rollercoaster of a season!

2027/28 Season - Transfer and August

This has been one **** of a Summer window and right at the end I have pulled off a couple of ridiculous signings!!!

1649591846358.png

Above are the out's, I decided a little refresh was needed so I let Wingers Apsrilla and Demir leave, both for sizeable profits. RB Max Aarons also leaves in another big profit. I also let young academy players Popov, Pennant and Rikki Smith leave. All 3 that left I felt deserved the move to further their career.

So with a few players leaving I need to bring new players, mainly in midfield and out wide, what I brought in exceeded anything I ever expected.

Jeferson - Right Wing - £55m from Everton

An incredible signing and at only 20 has so many years to get even better!

1649592005023.png

Sebastien Cauet - Defensive Midfield - £26m from Anderlecht

Again, another player for the future. He's come in to be Vitinha understudy as a DM. I have high hopes

1649592009226.png

Now for the big 2!

Kevin De Bruyne - Attacking Midfield - £11.75m

Utterly incredible! It seems a 2nd title win in a few season is attracting higher quality players. This proves it. Amazing!

1649592013528.png

Jude Bellingham - Midfielder - £105m from Liverpool

And this one is even more mad! When I saw he wanted to join I had to bring him in. We had £128m in the bank so could easily afford it and now our midfield is as good as anything in Europe.

1649592017642.png

If everyone is fit this is our Best XI.]

1649592305193.png

And we still have Jeferson, Maddison, Papetti, Harrison, Gold and many many more as backup!

Next, the Champions League draw and could it have gone any better?!

1649592421649.png

If we don't win this group, with some of the backup players playing I will be shocked!!

Finally, the results and as League Champs we opened with the Community Shield.

We faced Everton who beat us in the FA Cup Final last season and even though the game was ****** awful we won the match 1-0 courtesy of a Wesley Fofana header.

1649593092514.png

We have played 3 games in the League in August, it was an easy run of games, we should be winning all 3 and even though performances weren't as good as I wanted we still managed to do what was expected.

1649593150851.png

A solid start but they were games we will be expected to win if we are to challenge for the League title

2027/28 Season - September to December

What a brilliant opening half to the season!

First up the League Cup and even with me playing a lot of the reserves we have got ourselves into the semi finals!

1649697390875.png

The Man City game was a thriller, we levelled the game in the last minute and won 5-4 on penalties, Sterling the only man to miss.

1649697429645.png

Now to the Champions League. We had an easy group but in this the mixing up of the team did not work! We opened with a shock defeat to Trabzonspor, after that I had to take more seriously, we ended up topping the group but only after we won the final game!

1649697502697.png

1649697509777.png

We have Bayer Leverkusen in the next round, a winnable tie.

Finally, the League and we are smashing it!

1649697535307.png

An amazing run with only 2 defeats and 3 draws. December was especially good, so many games but we won 6 of our 7 games, the best one was the Man Utd win, it looked to ending a draw until Vitinha popped up with a 95th minute winner!

1649697593467.png

1649697597604.png

Just over half way and we are 7 clear and with a game in hand! Surely we can't screw this up?!

Achievement Gained!

Mariano Roca - Last season the European Golden Boy - This season the FIFA Mens Best U21 Player!
