@xMattCx: Well there is a reason why Cameron has declined a new contract with Cruzeiro a few months back. Let see if Cruzeiro will change their mind and let him play more often. All players have come back from the tournament only to be given a senior squad promotion.
MARCH & APRIL Updates:
I know i said i will go month by month, i decided instead to start the monthly update at the start of the new season in June/July after the U-20 World Cup Tournament. Or not, im liking this new 2 month update due to the amount of things to write/read about. We will see how things comes along.
Cruzeiro have finally given Cameron the chance to play with the Senior Squad in April. Matthew, who has been sensational for the U-20 National Side, hadn't played any games for Cruzeiro this year, but the club gave him a chance to show what he can do. In the Copa Libertadores game vs Liga de Quito, in which they won 5-0. Cameron didn't score, but he helped create a goal to get an assist under his name. With 8 months left in his contract, Cruzeiro will try to sign him up and guarantee his services for a few extra years. As for the club, they are now in the Minas State Championship Final vs Atletico Mineiro, which they drew 0-0 in the first Leg. They will play the return leg in the first week of May to crown the State Champions. Last season, Cruzeiro were Champions by beating Atletico Mineiro. Can they repeat the feat? Will Cameron make an appearance?
Hulkster got the chance to win his first medal of his career when Gremio played against Internacional in the Gaucho State Championship Apertura Finals, but they ended up losing the game in Penalty kicks. A month later, Gremio got to celebrate the win by winning the State Championship Clausura against the same opponent, winning it by Penalty Kick as well. So with both teams winning each half the State Championship, they will now both go at it in a 2 Leg Finals to crown the ultimate champion. In the 14 matches he has played in the State Championship, Hulkster has scored 10 goals, amassed 3 assists and got himself 2 MotM awards.
All this high scoring seasons for Ignacio Ballena have finally paid off. Last month, Ballena has been getting more Senior Squad chances and he has finally ended his goalless record by becoming the youngest ever Danubio goalscorer. On a rainy day, in front of the home crowed and watched by thousands of Uruguayan Football fans, Ballena was able to give his team the win after scoring on the 71st minute of the match. Ignacio's Senior Squad status hasn't still been guaranteed, he is still 16 years of age, but he has been getting more time with team. The manager, instead of letting him sit and rot on the bench, has been getting Ignacio to go out with the Youth Squad to keep up with his form and advance his skills as the year progresses. With the Youth Squad, there is no question who their player of the year is. Scoring an astonishing 50 goals in 49 games, also getting 6 assists and 10 MotM awards.
After a successful Sudamericano U-20 Tournament, where Batistuta was named in the tournament's starting XI squad, Martin has made 2 senior squad starts for River. Even though he hasn't contributed much to the team in those 2 games, he has had decent outings by averaging a rating of 7.20. With 7 games to play in the Clausura, River sit in 5th place, only 7 points from League Leaders, Boca Juniors, and River has 1 game in hand over their fiercest rivals.
Since coming back from injury, Messy Hallow has made an additional 3 appearances and scoring 1 goal. Messy didnt play in the Bahia State Championship, prompting the manager to explain his decision. The manager has said that he didn't want to risk Messy picking up another injury in a very intense final and wanted him to stay fresh for the new Brazilian season that will start in a weeks time.
The Venezuelan League has come to an end in April. Real Esppor didn't do very well this season by finishing in 6th place. But the positive news is that Juan Pablo Miguel was able to get 10 matches under his belt with the squad and will most likely start next season on the bench as he has played some decent matches and averaged a rating of 7.15 during that time.
Deportivo Petare will be gutted after finishin the season in 3rd place, only 2 points behind 2nd place Deportivo Tachira. They will need a stronger defense next season if they they will want to play in Finals of the League. Oswaldo Nino has been a great inspiration for the team this year though, playing a total of 25 matches, scoring 1 goal and assisting on 7 other occasions. He even recieved 2 MotM awards for his efforts. He had been slightly less impressive since his return from injury, but now that the season has come to an end, he will be able to relax for the next month or two and get back his strength.
