JUNE & JULY Updates:
I was planning to start the update with the World Cup special for this update. After seeing the transfers that had taken place, i will do the World Cup review after the Lost Talents' updates. This should be a long one.
We will start the first player update in northern part of South America. After seeing his Venezuelan friend Juan Pablo Miguel move to Brazil's Internacional, Oswaldo Nino will be making his move in December 2014 to Paraguay's most prestigious club, Olimpio. Oswaldo Nino is said to be very delighted to play for the 3 time Copa Libertadores Champions. He would love to help them get their fourth South American Trophy. It has also been 14 years since their last League Title run. This past season, Oswaldo Nino has been name Deportivo Petare's Supporter Player of the Season for the 3rd season running.
Javier Squeekles snubbed many new contract extensions from Rosario Central. After his contract came to an end, many teams were after the young Bolivian talent. After much thought though, Javier ended up accepting Velez's contract offer. Javier, coming from a tough footballing background in Bolivia, will be making $5250 a week. He also will get a 15% yearly wage raise, as well as a $525 appearance fee on top of his $525 a goal bonus. Velez will be gunning to win their first domestic title since 2012 when they won the Argentinian Clausura.
In one of the most surprising and shocking moves of the year, Messy Hallow made a move to Maccabi Haifa. The decision was a weird one seeing how he had been one of their best players for the past year. In 3.5 years with Vitoria, Messy Hallow made 56 first team appearances, scored 35 goals and assisted 14 others. All of them coming in the past year and a half. He wasn't able to receive any MotM awards. Astonishing when you know that Messy took part in 95% of his club's goals scored in 2013. Maccabi Haifa have surely landed a great talent into their squad. Valued at $3,300,000, Messy will be making $11,750 a week and a high appearance wage of $1200 per game as well as $1200 for every goal scored for his new club. By the way, in the final 20 matches played, in 2014, Messy had scored 17 and assisted 9.
Chivas welcome their new talented pool of players. Many fans have shown excitement at the prospect of seeing both Bottomtoucher Jr and Valderrama playing side by side in the coming years. For now though, they have both been placed in the youth squad of Chivas.
Gremio's Hulkster has slowly been finding his form as of late. In the past 2 months, he has scored 6 goals for his club. He has helped move to 5th in the Brazilian League. His slow start to the campaign was heavily criticized by the club's fans by saying that the high wage might have got the best of him. As of late though, he has been getting them back behind him and he has started finding the target. He has also got himself 5 overall assists.
Cruzeiro have not had the best of starts to the season. After 16 matches into the season, the club sits in 15th place, only 2 position out of the Relegation Playoffs. Matthew Cameron is playing some good football though, scoring 14 goals in 20 starts and 8 substitution. The club fans were gutted to see their team lose in the Brazilian Cup Finals to Portuguesa by the score of 2-1 over 2 legs. He also got 7 assists.
Raul snubbed offers from Boca Juniors, Estudiantes La Plata, Sarsfield, Velez and River Plate to comming his future with Universidad de Chile. After signing his new contract with Universidad de Chile, he was rewarded with a Apertura Championship Trophy after beating Colo Colo 3-1 over both legs. In the Copa Libertadores, Universidad lost both legs against Boca to crash out of the Libertadores. Raul has been instrumental to his team's success this season after scoring 9 goals and assisting 14 others. In the Apertura, Raul broke the record for assists with 11 and has raised the record to 14 with much of the Clausura left to play.

We will start the FIFA World Cup review with the tournament hosts, Brazil. Brazil moved through the Group Stage with 2 wins and 1 draw and scored 5 goals on the way. The draw came against Australia. Argentina, in Group D, finished in 2nd place after 1 win and 2 draws. Uruguay topped Group D by scoring the World Cup leading 10 goals in 3 matches. After drawing 2-2 against Senegal in their first match, Uruguay's Cavani exploded for 4 goals in the second match's 5-0 win over Switzerland. Colombia were also able to top their Group with 2 wins and a draw and were able to score 8 goals and conceded 3 goals. They were even able to beat Italy 3-1.
- 2nd Round -
Brazil got through the 2nd round with an easy 5-0 win over Bosnia. Pato was unfortunatly injured in the 10th minute after scoring the first goal 5 minutes into the game. There was also a South American match-up between Argentina and Colombia. Argentina dominated the game with 17 shots and won the game 3-0 effortlessly. The 4th team to make it to the 2nd Round was Uruguay, who played against Holland. Holland were heavy favorites, but ended up losing 1-0. Cavani missed a chance to give his team the go ahead goal in the 16th minute with a missed penalty. Hernandez was able to right his teammates wrong by scoring the winning goal in the 89th minute.
- 1/4 Finals -
Brazil again saw off their opponent, this time their International rivals, Italy. This time, Brazil beat Italy 3-1 in front of their home fans. Neymar scored the first goal in the 5th minute and got a red card at the end of the first half. Many though Italy would fight back to win the match, but Brazil came out flying in the 2nd half and scored the 2nd goal 2 minutes after the restart. Italy were able to halve the lead. Brazil were able to hold on to the lead and ended up scoring a goal in the injury time to seal the deal. Argentina crashed out of the World Cup after losing 2-0 to Spain. Uruguay were able to see off Belgium with a 2-1 win. Cavani again scored for Uruguay to put them through to the Semi Finals with a matchup against Brazil.
- 1/2 Finals -
The first of 2 Semi Final match pitted Brazil with another one of their rivals, Uruguay. This time, Cavani was blanked by a strong defensive line. With the game coming to a end and with the score 0-0, Robinho sent the fans into a frenzy by sending Brazil into the Finals by scoring the winning goal in the 87th minute. Spain had an easier path to the Finals with a 3-1 win over France with Torres scoring the 2nd and game winning goal.
- 3rd Place Finals -
Hernandez again was the player to win the match for Uruguay against France for 3rd place finish. This makes it 2 World Cups in a row that Urugay comes in 3rd place.
- Final -
With the whole nation and many more million fans around the world rooting for Brazil, they had a chip on their shoulders to perform. With Spain, the World Cup defending Champions, in Brazil's way, they had a tough match in front of them. The game was a tug of war between both nations. The game ended in a 0-0 draw and the game went into extra time. With the game coming to close, Robinho again popped up to send his nation's fans into oblivion. Brazil won the game 1-0 over Spain to win their 6th World Cup.
