Alright lads, i wanted to update after the month of January, but i didnt realized that i simmed it all the way through the end of February. So i will give the info as of the END OF FEBRUARY. Player attributes will be at the end of the post as attachments.
February Updates:
Another record breaking month for The Boss Youths. Nothing major though, just more of the same old 'Youngest Player' records to be broken.
First to do so in February was the newly drafted Sporting KS player, Jose Gainza, for becoming the youngest ever CONCACAF Olympic Qualifier player for the USA's U-23s against Jamaica. 2nd player to break such a record was Jonsson, becoming the youngest BWIN Cup player for Braga when they visited Vit. Guimaraes. Who by the way keeps up impressing the more he plays. 3rd and final player on the list of this record breaking month is Reginald Bottomtoucher. This one, though, is special as Mr. Bottomtoucher breaks 2 records in 1 match. In appearing in Chivas' home match against Cienciano, Reginald not only became the youngest ever El Rebano Segrado's player, but also set a new Copa Libertadores record.
As this month has been a slow, yet steady, month for the players, we will take a look at each player's respective teams' performance this far into the season.
With 2 youth players on contract with Nottingham Forest, its only right that we look at their performance this season. The team sits nicely in mid-table of the Championship League with 43 pts from 33 games. They still have a good chance to make it into the top 6, where they trail by 10 pts. The Reds still need some fire power up front as they have scored only 18 goals all season while conceding only 23. They have a record of 11 wins, 10 draws and 12 losses. Forest could surely do better. The future looks bright though.
Braga sit 4th in the league with 12 wins, 4 draws and 4 losses. With 10 games left in the season, they seem destined to end up playing Europa League football the following season. They are only 8 pts from going to the Champions League, their most realistic target, due to Benfica most likely winning the League once again, unless something major happens. Braga could be proud though as they are the 2nd best defensive team in the league by conceding only 9 goals all season. Their Europa League journey wasn't as fruitful as they crashed out of the competition by losing 6-0 on aggregate versus Italian giants, Roma.
Still early in the season for Chivas, and surely they will make it hard for the leaders, but Chivas sit in 5th place with only 2 pts separating the top 10 teams. Chivas have themselves 4 wins, 2 draws and 3 losses. Chivas also sit top of their Group Stages of the Copa LIbertadores after only one match played, which they won 2-1. Long season ahead, and they have started steadily.
Leicester City are faring better than Nottingham at this point of time. Sitting in 6th spot with 53 points in the bag. Too many draws are hurting them though. They have 13 wins, 14 draws and 6 losses. If they were able to find themselves a few more goals here and there, they could have been, easily, higher up the rankings and in a safer place for promotion to the English Premier League. They also boast a very good goal scoring record with 27 goals scored, while their defense has been worse they what they had hoped for, 21 goals conceded. Still time to improve though. With the final push to the end of the season, its when the best teams are seperated from the rest.
With all their spendings in the past 2 transfer windows, Manchester City still sit in 5th position with 12 wins, 8 draws and 5 losses. It's not surprising to see them score 44 goals after 25 games, but they are still a long way off the league leader's mark of 65 goals by their fiersest rivals, Manchester United who sit comfortably on top. They can still be happy with the fact they are still in the UEFA Champions League, now in it's First Knockout Stage. Their first leg was a 1-1 draw against Inter Milan away at the San Siro.
La Liga is what it is. A 2 horse race between Barcelona and Real Madrid. With Real Madrid running away with it this season. So the battle for 3rd is the realistic target for any of the remaining 18 clubs in the Spanish League. Sevilla at this time, sit in 4th place. 1 points behind Athletic with 45 points. Sevilla have scored 46 goals and conceded 35. Maybe placing Mora in the first team more regularly will help lower the goals scored against, but his lack of discipline is a worry at this moment with Mora already catching 8 yellow cards and 2 red cards in his short, yet very, in lack of words, colorful, career. Sevilla, though, have made it into 2nd Knockout Stage of the Europa League by beating Lazio 3-3 on aggregate on Away Goals' Rule. They now take on Wisla. Sevilla are favourites to move on to the next round.
So this does it for the summery of our teams this far into the season. With about 2/3 months left in the first season, the next few months will be coming thick and fast for the teams and their players. The games will only get tougher and more important. Will any of the youth players make an impact? Only time will tell.
