Brought right back down to earth after this hammering from Luton. Luton have a much bigger budget and a considerable amount of better quality players but it's disappointing to lose in this manner. Nuneaton up next, definitely a winnable fixture.

Wow, didn't see this one coming. I made 5 changes from the loss at Luton and Jack Marriott's early strike made it look like a great decision. Nuneaton were reduced to 10-men before half time but Lewis Moult's second half double condemned us to our second successive defeat. Southport away next, need to win this one.

TRANSFER NEWS - CIAN HUGHTON SIGNS FOR WOKING

View attachment 351912

Snapped up former Lincoln right back Cian Hughton on a free transfer. Hughton can play anywhere along the right and is a perfect and cheap replacement for Adam Newton who was ruled out for 4 months. On £170 a week too so really cheap. Chris Hughton's son I see as well...

Best of luck. BTW, how many strikers do you have now? I lost count ;)

Bend it like Nutter! Two brilliant free kicks from John Nutter gave us a good win away at Southport. We have moved up to ninth position now which is very pleasing, still within touching distance of the play offs. We host Barnet next, will be a hard match and would be happy with a draw to be honest.

Brilliant, brilliant win for us against a very strong Barnet side. Fakinos grabbed his first goal for the club to draw us level before Barnet grabbed the lead making it two-one. Andy Mangan's effort was turned into his own goal by Barnet centre back Dale Stephens to draw us level. John Nutter then hit his third goal in two matches with another brilliant free kick to secure us the win.

Our third consecutive win against FC Halifax has pushed us up to 6th position, only 3 points off play offs. I know there's a long way to go but I've been very impressed so far, so we'll have to see how we do. Fakinos scored to put us ahead before the one and only John Nutter scored another free kick! His fourth in three matches. Wrexham up next, on paper a tough match but hopefully we will keep up our good form and come away with at least a point.

Current League Position: 6th

These are my strikers, who would everybody pick as my front two?

I would rotate Mangan and Rose and Marriott in a 442 system.

I would play Mangan as Advanced Forward. I've discovered that in the lower leagues, determination makes a HUGE difference. His determination will make up for his low finishing skill.

I would use Rose as the Withdrawn Forward with instructions to run with the ball and train him to round the keeper. I'd first improve his Finishing until it's 10 then train up his Composure. This might take 2 years, btw.

I would rotate Marriott in to keep Rose and Mangan rested. I'd train up his dribbling first so he can slot in at either role.

I'd loan out the rest if you ever get in any financial trouble.

Best of luck!

Ah, brought right back down to earth. Very disappointing result where we were battered from the off. We have Margate next in the FA Cup, if we win we qualify for the first round of the FA Cup. A good run would be great for our finances.

Even though the scoreline may suggest different, this way a very convincing win for us to book our place in the first round of the FA Cup. Andy Mangan bagged his second goal for the club while Romone Rose shone of the right wing, a position he isn't familiar in. Fakinos came off the bench to score a double as well which is very pleasing. Grimsby in the league next.

Ah, not too sure what happened there. We were outclassed from the off as Grimbsy annihilated us at home smashing us by three goals to nil. I decided to go with Rose and Mangan up top but it didn't really work for us. Will probably make a few changes for the next match. We face Southend in the first round of the FA Cup who are currently 12th in League Two, we're massive underdogs but hopefully we can spring an upset.

TRANSFER NEWS - WOKING SIGN FORMER STOCKPORT MIDFIELDER NICKY PLATT

View attachment 350438

I've swooped to sign centre midfielder Nicky Platt after his release from BSN side Stockport County. His physical stats are very poor but he's a good technical player so hoping he will be a good player for us. He will originally be back up but you never know, he may be able to force his way into the starting eleven.

I'm thinking about re-training him as a striker, what does everybody think?

It was expected but it's disappointing to be out of the FA Cup. We were convincingly beaten by Southend so no chance of a cup run for us this season. At least it gives us opportunity to concentrate on the league.

TRANSFER NEWS - MCNAMEE RELEASED BY WOKING

View attachment 350415

I've released Anthony McNamee on a free transfer after he agreed to a mutual termination for a fee of £7k. He's a good player but unfortunately can only play as an attacking left winger so he doesn't fit into my system which is a shame. He was on £400 a week so happy to get him off the books.

He only managed one substitute appearance under my tenure.

TRANSFER NEWS - HAMPTON AND RICHMOND LOAN MODESTE

View attachment 350413

I've decided to loan out Summer signing Oliver Modeste to Hampton and Richmond for three months. Hampton are currently in the league below the BSS/BSN so I'm hoping Modeste will impress and get his form up. He was expected to be a starter for me this season but has been unable to force his way into the side.

Modeste started 6 matches for us so far this season.
