FourTwoFour - Plug and Play EPL WITH Palace 1st season no transfers

I love this kind of tactic 4-2-4 with inside forwards but for some reason I can't get my strikers to score any ideas. I mean I dominate opponents but don't kill them of an example I am Man U and just played reading away I had 48 shots 22 on target and 59% possession and drew 1 all they had 3 shots lol. Now I don't mind drawing games or even losing but it seems when I use this tactic it's a regular occurrence hammer the opposition but just draw or scrape a win.

hey im using this tactic with the 15.2.1 version and im having no success. especially the strikers and the ball winning midlfield are preforming poorly. using def pos for training. any tweaks or advice?

p.s. the keepers on this version are just insane- they save everying!

All my attackers are training shooting... Seems to work. My lead SC scored 42 goals in about 35 games.

Just one remark, it might have been said before, but I never saw it written, so maybe it will help. People mention morale, condition, and tactic assimilation. These are key, no doubt. But despite having all this in my save, I had mixed results (which were actually rather good considering I was managing Nottingham Forrest in the Premier League, and it wasn't catastrophic). I was feeling it wasn't up to its best however.

I then hired 1st team coaches, and arranged training so that every category (shots, defence, attack, strength, etc) were at least 4 stars (before that, I had 3 (mostly), sometimes only 2 or 2.5). I also hired a great assistant manager, with a very high note in motivation - I affected him to all training categories so his motivational speeches affect everyone, all the time (maybe it doesn't do anything, but it doesn't hurt to do it anyway!).
Now I am pretty much unbeatable. Third season in the PL, I'm top with 14 wins, 1 draw and 1 defeat (both away, vs Arsenal and Southampton) in 16. Scored 63 (4 per game average) and conceded 18 (1 per game). Suso (15 goals - 12 assists in 16 games) and a brazilian regen (12 goals and 13 assists in 16 games) are unstoppable. I am through to the last 16 of the UCL (finishing top of my group which included Real Madrid and AC Milan).

This tactic is the best I've tried (had it for the past 3 seasons). Results are insane (best I got for the past 3 editions of FM), almost as good as MrHough's match engine breaker on FM12. And despite having good players (Suso, Ramires, Barkley, Walcott, Vela), my team is far from being City, Chelsea or United level. Yet, I'm the better team. Always.

My conclusion is that is you respect simple things such as tactic assimilation, physical condition, morale, using players in their best position, training, this tactic WILL get you there. If it doesn't, something is wrong with the conditions above...

Hats off to the creator.

I'm averaging 3/4 a game scored for and 1 against with most saves I am doing as well. Thanks for the feedback.

Just won 3-1 with this tactic against Chelsea at home! Even missed a penalty on my end.. (whats up with that btw :P).. match stats were 50/50 .. which is insane because my team (ADO Den Haag) suckssssss in comparision. Even though it is quite an attacking tactic.. it can also do wonders (somehow?) against teams that should easily win.

Edit: oh and the Chelsea goal was also a penalty.. so pretty crazy stuff

Won 1-8 away at Stoke in my first game using this... just saying..

haha just beat Man U 8-5 using this. I'm playing as Spurs on FMC with instant result

Hi, I made an account just to respond to this tactic....

IT IS GREAT! Used it for Liverpool (first season) and have 100% win record. Dominate game and score goals.

Some notible results (I am at work so do not have all of them)
Newcastle vs Liverpool: 1-4 (First game using this tactic)
Barcelona vs Liverpool: 3-5 (EPIC)
Liverpool vs Barcelona: 3-1
Liverpool vs Stoke: 5-0
I started using the tac on the 3rd League game and am now up to Dec and have 100% record in league, League Cup and Champions league (beat Barcelona, Leverkusen & BATE home and away)

Now, in order to test further I started a game with Accrington Stanley and am using this. Still in pre-season but 100% win in friendlies but will keep updated.

I have never used a tactic that has worked so well and seems (tbc) to work well at lower levels as well. I like that even though it is 4-4-2, the way the Forwards are deployed they help beef up the midfield in defence and in link up and basically it is 90 mins of pressuring the opponents and a LOT of close range goals.

Defensively, mainly I concede on the odd Counter-Attack, penalty or when I have to change a defender (due to injury).

Thank you Chrissy Dude for sharing this tactic, it is ****** marvelous!

do you use the same match prep every game?
and what about training for pre-season? (where to put the slider, rest etc..)
thanks in advance! :)

Personally I leave match prep on "Attacking Focus" by default. For Pre-Season I mainly focus on Tactical Training on intensive to help the squad get familiar with the tactical formation. This is for 1st Season but 2nd season onwards usually split between Fitness (1st Week or so), Team Cohesion (If lots of signings) and Tactics. Usually 1 rest day after match.

I have actually been using. and have had most succes, with balanced team training and def. position pre-match training

I am starting to use Balanced team training outside of Pre-Season and seems to work well (in conjunction with individual training). Might try the Def Pos. training instead of attack but have no hard facts as to which might be the best. I believe the OP preferred Defensive Set Piece training although I will admit I have never used this in the past.

A little experiment, changed to a deep 442, keeping all the same team and player instructions. Looks promising:

I'll be honest folks,

most of the tactics I create are for lower league underdog teams
the thinking being if you can cotnrol a game and win with them
then the better the team the better the results.
So this tactic should work well for lower league management.

Chrissy - been using it with my Lowestoft team in the Conference.
The only tweaks I make are - changing the striker to def forward support and untick shoot less - because that's his strength and it's hard to find a decent F9. My CDs are slow so if they are getting caught by balls over the top, I select drop deeper and remove play offside.
I used the two striker formation from the beginning of the Kidderminster game.
I changed it to one striker from the beginning of the Wrexham game because I have a decent DM. I missed the playoffs on goal difference!!! Looking forward to the new season - thanks!!View attachment 312700

So tested this now a bit more for Accrington Stanley (the players are so so aweful haha) and done pretty ok. 3, 1 loss, 1 draw in the league and lost both cup games. Not a bad start considering they were tipped to be last in the league and the only players I could bring in where Conference quality on a free. Will update as I get further into the league but for the most part we are dominating game but due to poor quality players creating clear cut chances and scoring is a bit of a challenge but still, positive results.

I am going to try your tactic. just please if you can tell me wich attacker scores more? left or right? and right footed f9 on right left on left (I saw somebodyy asked for wingers didn't see the same question for f9)
