Pretty average game to be honest and probably really should have ended in a draw, but decided to bring on the little french wizard for the last 20 minutes to hope he could make a difference and clearly it paid off as he went on a mazy run and belted it in from 20 yards! Great goal to win us the game!

So even though it seems like we were the better team as Arsenal had to rely on a very late goal to go into Extra time we were actually the much weaker side... as arsenal are a very attacking and possessive team I decided to use a counter attacking and defensive tactic and it clearly worked very well! Both goals came from counter attacks from corners and they had close to 30 shots so clearly the tactic worked very well.
We will be playing Swansea City in the final... chance for silverware!

We were shown this game why Stoke City are the main team competing with us for 4th... they absolutely tore us a new one this match and literally from the first minute I could tell this was going to be a very hard match. This result puts our hold on 4th place at risk and I think it will come down to the wire for who gets it!

Well we may have left it late but at least we got the win we deserved! We showed Wigan why we are the best of the 3 teams who came up and absolutely battered them... although unfortunately no one seem to have their shooting boots on today as we couldn't score in 17 shots until a very good solo goal from Rodriguez right at the end.

Well I decided to use the same tactic we used against Arsenal and it worked quite well for the first half an hour but they then decided to go more attacking and change up formation and it clearly worked as they battered us for the remaining 60 minutes and they got the goals and the win that they deserved.

So I think its easy to say that we will not be able to make it to 3rd... but with how it is at the moment I think we really will get a European spot as I think if we can't keep hold of 4th (Newcastle only 2 points behind) but I think we will be able to keep 5th from Stoke (4 points behind). So other than the Stoke result I was pretty pleased with our performances this month as we improved our position on getting European football next season and also now have a chance at Silverware!

This fella has been an absolute god send for us this season... single handedly being able to save us games and stopping the other team from scoring and other than the Stoke game (worst game of his career) he had another great month and I think I am going to have to work hard to keep him in the summer! Also wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't too long until he gets called up to Englands first team at this rate!

Well the 2nd half for this game couldn't have gone any worse... the 1st half was actually good for us as we were probably the beast team but clearly Newcastle came out fired up in the 2nd half and ripped us apart, and due to other results this dropped us down to 5th in the table.

Leicester City 0 - 1 Fulham

Really a game I am very disappointed with as Fulham have been very poor this season and are definitely a team we should have beaten. We were also the much team this game and I think the fact that one of their defenders got MOTM shows that the reason we couldn't score was due to their defences performance. This result accompanied with others has dropped us down to 7th out of European places.

The way we played we definitely didn't deserve to win this game. Swansea's passing and possession tactic was easily shown in this game as they were the much better team and definitely deserved the win so well done to them. But still I really thought Swansea would be a team we could beat so quite disappointed in that aspect.

If there wasn't so much riding on this game I would be pleased with this result but because we had to win to even have a chance of getting European football now due to our position and the cup loss I am actually quite disappointed with this as we did have chances where we could have won the game but clearly the pressure was too much on our players as we couldn't pull it off.

Saying this was our first season back in the Premier League for 10 years this was an incredible season! Managing to finish clear of the relegation zone is very pleasing but 7th?! That is just incredible! Although obviously I am quite disappointed that we messed up our chances of European football but I was thinking and maybe it is a good thing as it allows us to focus on becoming a better club in England then we can look at improving an a European level. But with the correct squad improvements I think we can make it into Europe next season!

The young Englishman has been excellent for us all season... very consistent (bar the Stoke City game) and has definitely been our star performer this season! We had a fair bit of interest for him last summer and in January and there are already a few teams interest in signing him this season but I will defintiely doing everything I can to ensure he will be playing with us this time next season! He really is a great young player and with Morgan aging and not really get in the squad Moore is definitely a player I can see as our future captain and is already always one of the first players I choose in our squad if fit and able to play.

I came 3rd in the results for the Manager of the Year which I think is very suitable as of course Moyes did well to win them the league this year seeing as they were runners up last year, Hughes has done incredibly well to get Stoke European football and of course I think I deserve 3rd as we performed well all season and being a recently promoted club 7th is a great place to finish.

Friendlies & Training Camp

View attachment 422772

The squad is going on a training camp to Austria and of course I have included every player we currently have, one problem is I have tied up deals for some free transfers to come to the club so they will be missing out on getting to bond with the team but im sure the other friendlies when back from the training camp will be enough for them.

I believe with the squad we have we should definitely be winning all of our friendlies, with only the game with Galatasary being a match which we could potentially lose, especially if I rotate the team a lot but I guess we will have to see.

Squad

View attachment 422770

I have to admit I am still very pleased with the squad set up we currently have... only problem I can see is that a few of our midfielders; Barry, Cahill, King have got to the point where they are not developing any more and will be starting to decrease so I will be looking at bringing in 1 or 2 midfielders to help replace/cover them. I will also be looking at bringing in another Right Midfielder as I have sold Queresma and will be looking to bring in someone young to fight with Knockaert for first choice. Other than that I am pleased with my squad and will also be looking to bring in some players with good potential who I will probably also loan back out.

So looking at our results I would say we had a pretty good season... at the start I left it to the assistant manager to take charge of the friendlies but once he lost 2 in a row I decided to take charge again and obviously it was a good idea as the squad performed brilliantly for the rest of the games, also the new players were starting to fit in quite well in the games we had when returned from our tour.

Looking very promising for the next season and cant wait to get started! These are our opening fixtures for the rest of August and I believe we can easily win all of them which would be the perfect start!

A good start to the new season as a lot of our newer players got a chance to play for us competitively and the team played very well and we probably could have won by even more, but still a good win.

Jesus I was so worried that we had messed this up... for some reason once Fletcher was sent off and we got our 2nd our players slacked off and West Ham took full control and really could have had the chance to actually win... but still we got very lucky to get the own goal at the end and win the game which if it was based off stats should have been a draw.

Was proud we could get such a convincing win, even when I played a much weaker side and included a lot of the newer players. We probably could have even had more than 5 as we had a lot of chances in the 2nd half and also slightly disappointed we conceded as Wycombe were very poor and didn't deserve the goals... but still a very good win and we will be going on to play Blackburn Rovers at home in the next round.

Perfect win to end the perfect first month of the season! Was a very hard fought battle against a team we tended to struggle against last season, especially as they battered us 3-0, and we definitely deserved this win and probably could have got another but Vydra missed a great chance... oh well, still a great win!

Perfect start to the season with us winning every game and ending the first month at the top of the table! I do have to admit the games we had were pretty easy and games we should have won so very glad we did. Also we currently have the top goalscorer on our books who I decided was the Best Player as you can see below.

Also I won Manager of the Month which is clearly deserved!

Best Player of August

View attachment 419261

Jay Rodriguez

This man is on fire! 6 goals in 4 games, current top goalscorer in the league, for the club and also our best performing player, as well as also contributing with 2 assists! Was certainly no surprise that I had a fair few bids come in for him, of course I turned them all down! Also a very good month for him saying he was playing Left Wing for us so clearly did very well to score that many. Think he is going to be very important for us this season!

-----------------------------------

Transfers

View attachment 419260

So at the end of last season is was quite east for me to see players which would need to be sold and which positions would need improving and I managed to get all the players I wanted and also got rid of all the deadwood I didn't want... be that on loan, transfer or free. Also made sure that all youngsters who would not get game time for us went out on loan to ensure they will get the experience they require. Time for a look at who has come in!

View attachment 419254

So first of all, Bizot was complaining about not getting enough first team action so wanted to go out on loan, and Keita would have been the same so decided to bring in a good back up goalie and when I saw this guy I just had to have him... Long may have cost me 10 Million but he is definitely going to be a great player and is definitely my replacement when Schmeichel starts to decline. Can definitely become Englands future No 1 in my opinion!

View attachment 419252

With Briggs getting a lot of game time last season, and a fair few injuries, Monreal declined quickly and decided it would be better for the both of us if he left... but this left us with just one LB so decided to bring in a back up to Briggs... Kolodziejczak is a player who will definitely be fighting with Briggs for first choice LB and he also good potential and being relatively young... think I am definitely sorted for LB's for a fair while.

View attachment 419250

Now this transfer only happened because I had to make the very hard decision to let Morgan leave... he wasn't getting much play time at all and wanted to leave and as no one was interested in him I offered him mutual termination which he accepted. I decided it would be good for me to bring in another player and when I saw Real Madrid go in for Casasola and saw his stats I decided we must try our hardest to get him... which we managed! Will probably not play for us often this season but definitely is a good back if needed!

View attachment 419249 View attachment 419248 View attachment 419247

Decided to let Drinkwater and Essien go as they declined greatly over last season and weren't in my plans. So I decided it would be good to bring in a couple more players, Romeu was transfer listed and for just 3.6 Million I just couldn't pass up the opportunity! He is a quality player and can't wait to see him play for us this season! Also saw Mendy and Coquelin were both available for free and decided to bring them both in... out of the 2 I saw Coquelin as the one who has a better current ability and will be a better choice to keep at the club so he will be appearing regularly for us this season while Mendy has gone out on loan to get the first team experience he would not get with us.

View attachment 419246

Bentley and Queresma complained about not getting enough game time and with them both also declining I decided to let them leave and bring in a replacement. I saw Campbell was going to be available on a free for most of last season so as soon as I could I tied up a deal to bring the former Arsenal youngster to our club! At just 23 I think he is already a great player and still has potential to improve, so bringing him in on a free is a great piece of business in my opinion!

View attachment 419245

Now... at the time I saw this as a great transfer as I didn't believe Schlupp or Hunte quite have the ability to step up yet so thought Larsen, who is a great player to get on a free, would be great competition for Rodriguez but now with how Rodriguez has started off he may not get the game time I thought he would... still a good signing and great player to bring in though so will be interesting to see what happens with him.

All in all I am very happy with the transfer activity at the club this summer and there is still a couple of deals that might go through but we shall have to see. Believe we have greatly strengthened our squad and it is much better than it was last season so don't see why we cant aim for a higher position!
